Description
上述の製造方法を用い、以下に示す条件で作製した積層型リチウムイオン二次電池において、多孔質セパレータの折畳部による内部短絡の抑制効果を検証した。

Claims (8)
- シート状の集電体の両面に第1の電極活物質が塗布された第1の電極であって、該第1の電極活物質が塗布された第1の領域と、該第1の電極活物質が塗布されていない第2の領域とを有する第1の電極と、シート状の集電体の両面に、前記第1の電極活物質とは異なる極性の第2の電極活物質が塗布された第2の電極と、多孔質セパレータと、を有する積層体であって、前記第1および第2の電極が、前記多孔質セパレータを介して積層された積層体を備え、
前記多孔質セパレータは、前記第1の電極の前記第2の領域と前記第2の電極の前記第2の電極活物質が塗布された領域とに対向する部分が、複数層に折り畳まれている、積層型二次電池。 - 前記多孔質セパレータは、複数層に折り畳まれた前記部分が非多孔質である、請求項1に記載の積層型二次電池。
- 前記第1の電極の前記第2の領域は、前記第1の領域の端部から突出するように設けられ、
前記第1の電極に隣接する前記多孔質セパレータは、前記第1の電極の前記第1の領域の外側で互いに対向する周縁部同士が熱溶着され、前記第1の電極の前記第1の領域を収容するように袋状に形成されている、請求項1または2に記載の積層型二次電池。 - 前記第1の電極が正極である、請求項3に記載の積層型二次電池。
- シート状の集電体の両面に第1の電極活物質を塗布し、第1の電極を形成する工程と、シート状の集電体の両面に、前記第1の電極活物質とは異なる極性の第2の電極活物質を塗布し、第2の電極を形成する工程と、前記第1および第2の電極を多孔質セパレータを介して積層し、積層体を形成する工程と、を含み、前記第1の電極を形成する工程が、前記第1の電極活物質が塗布された第1の領域と該第1の電極活物質が塗布されていない第2の領域とを形成することを含む積層型二次電池の製造方法であって、
前記積層体を形成する工程の前に、前記多孔質セパレータの、前記第1の電極の前記第2の領域と前記第2の電極の前記第2の電極活物質が塗布された領域とに対向する部分を、複数層に折り畳む工程を含む、積層型二次電池の製造方法。 - 前記複数層に折り畳む工程が、前記多孔質セパレータの、複数層に折り畳まれた前記部分を部分的に熱処理し、非多孔質化することを含む、請求項5に記載の積層型二次電池の製造方法。
- 前記第1の電極を形成する工程が、前記第1の電極の前記第2の領域を前記第1の領域の端部から突出するように設けることを含み、
前記複数層に折り畳む工程と前記積層体を形成する工程との間に、前記第1の電極の前記第1の領域を収容するように、前記第1の電極に隣接する前記多孔質セパレータを袋状に形成する工程を含み、
前記袋状に形成する工程が、前記第1の電極に隣接する前記多孔質セパレータの、前記第1の電極の前記第1の領域の外側で互いに対向する周縁部同士を熱溶着することを含む、請求項5または6に記載の積層型二次電池の製造方法。 - 前記多孔質セパレータが乾式法で作製されている、請求項5から7のいずれか1項に記載の積層型二次電池の製造方法。
