Description
図1に示すような構造で概略構築し、アルミニウムのカソードタップおよび銅のアノードタップを含んだポーチ型二次電池を準備した。電池ケースの密封部位から露出した電極タップの寸法は、幅4.5cmおよび厚さ0.02cmであった。電源の電力端子を、カソードタップの端部とアノードタップの端部に接続し、二次電池の変化を肉眼で確認するために500Aより大きい電流を二次電池に供給した。
図3に示すノッチが、比較実施例1に従って準備されたポーチ型の二次電池のカソードタップの両側に形成された。このノッチは、ノッチの中心が電池ケースの密封部位から1.5cmだけ隔てられ、ノッチの幅が5mmとなるように形成された。
図6に示す貫通孔が、比較実施例1に従って準備されたポーチ型の二次電池のカソードタップ内に形成された。この貫通孔は、カソードタップの表面積の約40%に相当する大きさを有するように、カソードタップの中央部分に形成された。
図7に示す2つの貫通孔が、比較実施例1に従って準備されたポーチ型の二次電池のカソードタップ内に形成された。各貫通孔は、カソードタップの表面積の約25%に相当する大きさを有するように、カソードタップの中央部分に形成された。また、2つの貫通孔が互いに約2mm隔たるように配置された。

Claims (15)
- 中型または大型の電池パック用の素電池として使用されるプレート型二次電池であって、密封状態で金属層および樹脂層を含むシート型の電池ケース内に取り付けられた、充放電ができる電極アセンブリを有し、前記電極アセンブリが、前記電池ケースの密封部位の外部に突出する電極端子を有し、前記電極端子の少なくとも1つが、前記密封部位から所定の間隔の位置に自己切断部を備え、前記二次電池に過電流が流れ込んだときに前記自己切断部が最初に断線し得るように、前記少なくとも1つの電極端子の前記自己切断部の垂直断面積が、残りの部分の垂直断面積よりも小さく、前記密封部位が、相が変化する間に高い潜熱を有する吸熱材料として相変化物質(PCM)を含む、または前記密封部位に隣接してカソード端子上に吸熱層が形成される、プレート型二次電池。
- 前記電池ケースが、金属層および樹脂層を含む積層シートで作られ、
前記電池ケースは、前記電極アセンブリが、一体形成された1つもしくは複数の表面を有する1ユニットシート部材内に取り付けられ、前記1ユニットシート部材が密封されるように前記1ユニットシート部材の開口部が互いに接合される構造で構築される構造、または前記電極アセンブリが、完成され分離された2ユニットシート部材の間に取り付けられ、前記2ユニットシート部材が密封されるように前記2ユニットシート部材の縁部の接触領域が互いに接合される構造で構築される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。 - ポーチ型電池である、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- リチウムイオン電池またはリチウムポリマー電池である、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記自己切断部が、アルミニウム製のカソード端子内に形成される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記自己切断部が、少なくとも1つの電極端子の残りの部分の垂直断面積の30〜90%に等しい垂直断面積を有する、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記自己切断部が、少なくとも1つの電極端子の幅が狭められた構造、少なくとも1つの電極端子の厚さが薄くされた構造、または少なくとも1つの貫通孔が少なくとも1つの電極端子内に形成された構造で構築される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記自己切断部が、少なくとも1つの電極端子内に少なくとも1つの貫通孔が形成された構造で構築される、請求項7に記載の二次電池。
- 前記自己切断部が、少なくとも1つの電極端子の少なくとも1つの側で切込みを形成することによって、少なくとも1つの電極端子の幅が狭められる構造で構築される、請求項7に記載の二次電池。
- 前記切込みがノッチ型切込みである、請求項9に記載の二次電池。
- 前記間隔が、前記過電流が二次電池に流れ込んだときに前記自己切断部から発生する熱が前記電池ケースの前記密封部位に伝播して前記密封部位が分離する前に前記自己切断部が断線し得る間隔として定義される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記自己切断部が、前記二次電池の前記電極端子に接続された、素電池として使用されるプレート型二次電池を含む電池パックの接続部材に隣接した位置で形成される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記過電流が、前記密封部位の分離を起こさない、または少なくとも可燃性の構成材の漏出を起こさない大きさである、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の1つまたは複数の二次電池を含む中型または大型の電池パック。
- 前記電池パックが複数の素電池を含み、これらが、少なくとも部分的または全体的に互いに直列に接続され、互いに直列に接続された前記素電池中の1つまたは複数の素電池は前記二次電池である、請求項14に記載の電池パック。
