前記中央シャフトセクションは、熱硬化性ポリマー管状部材、および、前記熱硬化性ポリマー管状部材の少なくとも一部分にわたって延在する熱可塑性管状スリーブを含み、前記熱硬化性ポリマー管状部材はスカイブ状遠位部を含み、
前記遠位セクションは、外側管状部材および前記外側管状部材内に配設される内側管状部材を含み、

前記スカイブ状遠位部の少なくとも一部分を含む前記熱硬化性ポリマー管状部材の少なくとも一部分にわたって第1の熱可塑性管状スリーブを配設する工程と、

前記接合部を加熱する工程は、前記第1の熱可塑性管状スリーブを前記外側管状部材に熱結合させる、方法。 - 三日月形管腔を画定する三日月形状を有するように、前記第1の熱可塑性管状スリーブの遠位部を形成する工程をさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記熱硬化性ポリマー管状部材のスカイブ状遠位部は前記三日月形管腔内に配設される、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記接合部において前記外側管状部材の近位部および前記第1の熱可塑性管状スリーブの遠位部の周りに第2の熱可塑性管状スリーブを配設する工程をさらに含み、前記接合部を加熱する工程は、前記第2の熱可塑性管状スリーブを前記第1の熱可塑性管状スリーブおよび前記外側管状部材の各々に熱結合させる、請求項11乃至13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 金属管状部材の遠位部を前記熱硬化性ポリマー管状部材の近位部とオーバラップさせる工程と、
前記金属管状部材の前記遠位部にわたって前記第1の熱可塑性管状スリーブの近位部を配設する工程と、
をさらに含む、請求項11乃至14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
