Description
有利な特徴は、コネクタアッセンブリの少なくとも一つの部品を別の部品に対して相対的に回転することにより、ファイバスタブを成端できる内部カム機構を持つ再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタアッセンブリである。作動は、光ファイバケーブルの現場成端を簡単に且つ手早く行うため、手持ち式カム作動工具を使用して、又はコネクタ支持構造と関連して使用することによって行ってもよい。
本発明の別の特徴によれば、コネクタは、対応するアダプタと噛み合うことができるバヨネット等のハウジングと、このハウジングの後部内に保持されたバックボーンと、このバックボーン内に設けられたフェルールホルダと、このフェルールホルダとバックボーンとの間に設けられたカムとを含む。好ましくは、フェルールホルダは、カム作動工具と噛み合って、コネクタの他の構成要素に対するフェルールホルダの回転を止めるように露呈された整合キーを備えている。
更に追加の特徴によれば、噛み合ったときにカムが露呈されないため、誤って非作動状態になることが阻止される。
次に、様々な例示の実施例を添付図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
ックボーン整合平坦部340(図11参照)と平行であり、これと噛み合う。環状スナップ溝790が第2端の近くに設けられている。環状スナップ溝790は、バックボーン300の環状スナップ330(図11参照)を保持することによって、フェルールホルダ700をバックボーン300に対して軸線方向で保持し且つ位置決めする(図11参照)。

クリンプを使用せずに成端を行うため、この種のコネクタは、必要が生じた場合に作動プロセスを逆に行って光ファイバを取り外すことができる。例えば、成端がうまくいかなかった場合、整合が不適切であった場合、又はファイバが切れた場合等である。これは、レバー1610を水平な作動位置に配置することによって行われる。次いで、コネクタを工具20に挿入し、上文中に説明したように、カム作動用切欠き210をカム工具インタ
ーフェース1630に再び嵌着する。次いで、フェルールホルダ整合キー720及びバックボーン300を上文中に説明したように位置決めする。次いで、カム作動レバー1610を再び上方に第1垂直非作動位置まで回転する。ストップ1510がレバーの回転を制限する。このとき、コネクタカム200は、フェルールホルダ700及びバックボーン300に対して90°回転しており、光ファイバをコネクタから取り外すことができ、次いで、所望であれば、別の光ファイバを再成端する。

Claims (7)
- フィールドファイバを可逆的に成端するための再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
対応するアダプタと噛み合うことができるハウジングと、
前記ハウジング内に保持されたバックボーンと、
前記ハウジング内に設けられ、フェルールを保持するように構成されたフェルールホルダであって、前記フェルールホルダと前記対応するアダプタとの間に半径方向の整合を提供する、半径方向に延びる整合キーを備えており、前記フェルールホルダ及びバックボーンの回転が止められるように、前記バックボーンに固定されるフェルールホルダと、
前記フェルールホルダの周囲に位置決めされ、フィールドファイバクランプを作動するように構成されたカムとを含む、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。 - 請求項1に記載の再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
前記フィールドファイバクランプは、前記フェルールホルダ内にカムプランク及びV字プランクを含んでおり、前記カムプランク及び前記V字プランクは互いに向き合う、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。 - 請求項2に記載の再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
前記カムプランクは、リブを有しており、前記フェルールホルダは、前記カムプランクの前記リブを位置決め且つ保持するためのリブスロットを有する、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。 - 請求項3に記載の再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
前記再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタは、前記フェルールに挿入されるスタブファイバをさらに含み、前記カムは、前記カムプランクの前記リブ用のカム面を提供するプランクカムプロファイルを有しており、それにより、前記カムに対する前記フェルールホルダの回転は、前記V字プランクに向かって前記カムプランクを押し付け、前記スタブファイバ及び前記フィールドファイバをクランプする、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。 - 請求項1に記載の再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
前記カムは、前記整合キーの移動を制限する切欠きを有する、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。 - 請求項5に記載の再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
前記カムの前記切欠きは、前記フェルールホルダを90度回転させることができるように、前記整合キーの移動を制限する、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。 - 請求項1に記載の再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタにおいて、
前記バックボーンは、バックボーン整合平坦部を設けられ、前記フェルールホルダは、フェルールホルダ整合平坦部を設けられており、前記バックボーン整合平坦部及び前記フェルールホルダ整合平坦部は、前記バックボーンが前記フェルールホルダに対して軸線を中心として回転しないようにする、再成端可能な光ファイバコネクタ。
