図2に、本実施形態における冷却ファン62の風量制御の原理を示す。図において、横軸は冷却ファン62の風量を示し、縦軸は冷却経路の圧力損失(図7の送風機全圧に相当)である。グラフ100は、車両10の窓が閉まっている場合の圧力損失であり、グラフ200は車両10の窓が開いている(全開)場合の圧力損失である。風量が増大するほど圧力損失は増大するが、窓が開いている場合には窓が閉じている場合よりも車室14内の負圧分だけ圧力損失がさらに増大する。一方、グラフ300は冷却ファン62のファン性能を示しており、ファン速度vにおける特性である。冷却ファン62の基本的なファン速度(目標冷却風量)vは、電池温度と環境温度により決定される。しかしながら、車両10の窓が開いている場合、車室14が負圧となりグラフ200のように圧力損失が増大するため、ファン速度vでは本来得られるべき風量(グラフ100とグラフ300との交点により定まる風量)よりも、グラフ200とグラフ300の交点により定まる風量(窓開時冷却風量)まで低下してしまう。そこで、本来得られるべき風量が得られるように、冷却ファンの速度を速度vから速度v+Δvまで増大させる。グラフ400は、冷却ファン62のファン速度がv+Δvの場合の性能を示す。グラフ400とグラフ200の交点では目標冷却風量が得られ、負圧による風量不足分を補償できる。目標冷却風量をWo、負圧によりファン速度vで得られる風量をWとすると、負圧による風量不足ΔWはΔW=Wo−Wである。制御部11は、この風量不足ΔWを補うのに十分な程度までファン速度を増大するということができる。もちろん、風量不足ΔWが微小である場合には、ファン速度を増大する必要はないであろう。したがって、風量不足ΔWをしきいレベルと大小比較し、風量不足ΔWがしきいレベルを超える場合にファン速度を増大制御するのも好適である。
Claims (4)
- 車両に搭載された電池を車室内の空気により冷却する車両用電池冷却システムであって、
車室内の空気を前記電池に供給する冷却ファンと、
前記冷却ファンのファン速度を制御する制御手段であって、前記冷却ファンの吸込側静圧のベース圧力変化量に応じて前記ファン速度を変化させるものであり、前記冷却ファンの吸込側静圧のベース圧力が窓閉鎖時に比べ負圧である場合に、前記冷却ファンの吸込側静圧のベース圧力が窓閉鎖時に比べ負圧でない場合よりも前記ファン速度をΔvだけ増大するように制御し、増分Δvは、前記車両の車速と窓の開度の2次元関数または2次元マップによって前記負圧により生じる風量補償分として設定される、制御手段と、
を有することを特徴とする車両用電池冷却システム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
前記制御手段は、前記車速が増大するほど、及び前記窓の開度が増大するほど前記ファン速度を増大するように制御することを特徴とする車両用電池冷却システム。 - 請求項1,2のいずれかに記載のシステムにおいて、
前記制御手段は、前記電池の電池温度に応じて決定される基本ファン速度vに対し、前記増分Δvを加算することで前記ファン速度を算出することを特徴とする車両用電池冷却システム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
前記制御手段は、前記冷却ファンの吸込側静圧のベース圧力変化量により生じる前記冷却ファンの風量不足をしきいレベルと比較し、しきいレベルを超える場合に前記ファン速度を増大することを特徴とする車両用電池冷却システム。
