Claims (4)
- 液体法によって炭化ケイ素セラミック繊維にチタン合金被覆を施すための方法にして、チタン合金に対する拡散防止バリアを形成するカーボン系材料で覆われた繊維を、被覆のために液体チタン合金槽を通過させて引く方法であって、
セラミック繊維を槽へと通過させる前に、拡散防止バリアを有する繊維がチタン合金によって濡らすことができるチタン化合物で被覆され、チタン化合物の成膜が、1m/分〜3m/分の繊維の走行速度で行われ、チタン化合物の被覆の後、被覆されたファイバが、最高3m/秒の繊維の走行速度で液体チタン合金槽内へと運ばれることを特徴とする、方法。 - チタンによって濡らすことができるチタン化合物が、炭化チタンである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 繊維は、水素担体ガス中の四塩化チタン前駆体を使用して適用される反応性化学気相成長による炭化チタンで覆われている、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 厚さ50〜300nm、好ましくは厚さ約100nmの炭化チタン被膜を形成するため、成長は以下のパラメータ、すなわち、
・1080K〜1650K、好ましくは1480K〜1530Kである繊維温度、
・14.2〜59.6である四塩化チタンの濃度に対する水素の濃度の比、および、
・1m/分〜3m/分である繊維の走行速度、
にて実行される、請求項3に記載の方法。
