・内燃機関としては、圧縮点火式内燃機関に限らず、例えば筒内直噴式ガソリンエンジン等の火花点火式内燃機関であってもよい。
Claims (8)
- 内燃機関から排気通路に排出される排気の一部を排気還流通路を介して該内燃機関の吸気通路に還流させるべく操作される外部EGR手段を備える内燃機関の燃焼制御システムに適用され、
前記内燃機関に供給される吸気中の酸素濃度と、前記内燃機関から排出される排気中の酸素濃度とを推定又は検出する処理によってこれら酸素濃度を取得する酸素濃度取得手段と、
該酸素濃度取得手段によって取得される排気中の酸素濃度に基づき、前記内燃機関のスモーク排出量について、その基準値からの現在値の増大度合いを示すスモーク増大度合いを算出する処理を行うスモーク増大度合い算出手段と、
前記酸素濃度取得手段によって取得される吸気中の酸素濃度に基づき、前記内燃機関のNOx排出量について、その基準値からの現在値の増大度合いを示すNOx増大度合いを算出する処理を行うNOx増大度合い算出手段と、
前記算出されたスモーク増大度合いと、前記算出されたNOx増大度合いとの双方を制御すべく、これら増大度合いを入力として前記外部EGR手段を操作することで前記吸気通路への排気還流量を調節する処理を行う還流処理手段とを備えることを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記還流処理手段は、前記調節する処理として、前記スモーク増大度合い算出手段によって算出されたスモーク増大度合いと、前記NOx増大度合い算出手段によって算出されたNOx増大度合いとの比率をその目標値とすべく、前記排気還流量を調節する処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記内燃機関の運転状態に基づき、前記スモーク排出量及び前記NOx排出量のそれぞれの基準値として、該スモーク排出量の目標値及び該NOx排出量の目標値のそれぞれを設定する目標値設定手段を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項2記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記スモーク増大度合い算出手段は、前記算出する処理として、前記設定されたスモーク排出量の目標値に対する前記算出されたスモーク排出量の比率を前記スモーク増大度合いとして算出する処理を行うものであり、
前記NOx増大度合い算出手段は、前記算出する処理として、前記設定されたNOx排出量の目標値に対する前記算出されたNOx排出量の比率を前記NOx増大度合いとして算出する処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項3記載の内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記目標値設定手段は、前記スモーク排出量の目標値及び前記NOx排出量の目標値のそれぞれをその規制値以下の値に設定するものであり、
前記還流処理手段は、前記算出されたスモーク排出量及び前記算出されたNOx排出量のそれぞれを前記規制値以下とするように、前記排気還流量を調節する処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項3又は4記載の内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記スモーク排出量及び前記NOx排出量のそれぞれの都度の目標値の積算値を算出する手段と、
前記スモーク排出量の都度の値の積算値と、前記算出されたスモーク排出量の都度の目標値の積算値との比率であるスモーク積算比率を算出する手段と、
前記NOx排出量の都度の値の積算値と、前記算出されたNOx排出量の都度の目標値の積算値との比率であるNOx積算比率を算出する手段とを更に備え、
前記還流処理手段は、前記スモーク増大度合いと前記NOx増大度合いとの比率の目標値を、前記スモーク積算比率及び前記NOx積算比率に基づき可変設定することを特徴とする請求項3〜5のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記吸気通路と前記排気通路との間には、前記内燃機関に供給される吸気を過給する過給機が備えられ、
前記外部EGR手段は、前記排気通路のうち前記過給機の排気タービンの上流側と前記吸気通路とを接続する前記排気還流通路としての高圧EGR通路に設けられる絞り弁、前記排気通路の下流側であって且つ前記排気タービンの下流側と前記吸気通路とを接続する前記排気還流通路としての低圧EGR通路との接続部よりも下流側に設けられる絞り弁、及び前記吸気通路のうち該吸気通路と前記高圧EGR通路との接続部の上流側に設けられる絞り弁のうち少なくとも1つであることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記内燃機関は、圧縮点火式内燃機関であることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
