Description
初期水性EVA分散物が以下の表に記載される。
実施例1の組成物およびいくつかの比較の水性組成物が、医療用グレードのTYVEK(タイベック)(商標)(スタイル1073B)上にコーティングされた。全ての塗膜は、#16メイヤー(Meyer)ロッドを用いて、8”×12”(20.3×30.5cm)TYVEK(商標)シート上に、約6.0 lb/リーム(10g/m2)(乾燥)で適用され、強制通風オーブン内で120℃で1分間乾燥させられた。コーティングされたTYVEK(商標)シートのそれぞれの多孔度は、次いで、ガーレイデンシトメーター(Gurley densitometer)を用いて測定された。次の表は、コーティングされたTYVEK(商標)を通過する100mLの空気置換の秒数の結果であり、全ての多孔度の値は5回の読み取り値の平均である。コーティングされた基体へのヒートシール結合の強度を評価するために、それは265℃で1秒間、60psi(513kPa)で医療用トレイにヒートシールされた。結合強度はその結合を1インチ(2.5cm)幅のシール領域にわたって12インチ/分(30.5cm/分)で引き離すことにより試験された。ヒートシール結合は特定されるような範囲である。
本発明のコーティング組成物は、他のEVAコーティング組成物よりも顕著に高い多孔度を有するEVA塗膜を生じさせることは明らかである。
上記実施例1および2におけるように塗膜が製造されたが、ただし、アルカリ金属重炭酸塩および有機酸の量(水性組成物中の全固形分を基準にする)を変更した。結果は以下の表に記載される。
Claims (8)
- エチレン酢酸ビニル塗膜を製造するための水性組成物であって、
当該水性組成物が(a)エチレン酢酸ビニルコポリマー;(b)炭酸アンモニウム;(c)アルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩;および(d)有機酸を含み;
当該有機酸とアルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩との合計量が、当該水性組成物中の固形分の全重量の3〜5重量%であり、アルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩と有機酸の相対量が、1〜3重量部のアルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩対0.5〜1.5重量部の有機酸であり、ポリマー固形分の含有量が当該水性組成物の全重量を基準にして10〜30重量%であり、炭酸アンモニウムの含有量が当該水性組成物の全重量を基準にして0.3〜1.5重量%であり、当該水性組成物が8〜10のpHを有する、
水性組成物。 - 有機酸が、酢酸、リンゴ酸、フマル酸、ソルビン酸、クエン酸、乳酸、酒石酸、マロン酸およびシュウ酸からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- アルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩が重炭酸ナトリウムであり、かつ有機酸がクエン酸である、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- エチレン酢酸ビニルコポリマーが、酢酸ビニルモノマーの重合残基を18〜40重量%、およびエチレンモノマーの重合残基を60〜82重量%含む、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の組成物。
- (a)エチレン酢酸ビニルコポリマー;(b)炭酸アンモニウム;(c)アルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩;および(d)有機酸を含む水性組成物であって;当該有機酸とアルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩との合計量が、当該水性組成物中の固形分の全重量の3〜5重量%であり、アルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩と有機酸の相対量が、1〜3重量部のアルカリ金属重炭酸塩もしくはアルカリ土類金属重炭酸塩対0.5〜1.5重量部の有機酸であり、ポリマー固形分の含有量が当該水性組成物の全重量を基準にして10〜30重量%であり、炭酸アンモニウムの含有量が当該水性組成物の全重量を基準にして0.3〜1.5重量%であり、8〜10のpHを有する水性組成物で基体上をコーティングして、コーティングされた基体を生じさせ;および
当該コーティングされた基体を乾燥させる;
ことを含む、エチレン酢酸ビニル塗膜を製造する方法。 - 基体が不織布もしくは紙であり、かつコーティングされた基体が75℃〜200℃の乾燥温度で乾燥させられる、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 基体がスパンボンドポリオレフィンであり、かつ組成物が3.3〜16.7g/m2の量でスパンボンドポリオレフィン上にコーティングされる、請求項6に記載の方法。
- コーティングされた基体が90℃〜140℃のオーブン温度で乾燥させられる、請求項7に記載の方法。
