Description
前記圧力発生素子を駆動して液体を吐出させるための所定の吐出パルスを含む第1駆動信号を規定発生周期で発生する第1駆動信号生成部と、
前記吐出パルスを含む第2駆動信号を規定発生周期で発生する第2駆動信号生成部と、
液体の吐出を制御する吐出制御情報に基づいて、前記第1駆動信号又は前記第2駆動信号に含まれる吐出パルスを選択し、選択した吐出パルスを圧力発生素子に供給して液体の吐出を制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記第1駆動信号と前記第2駆動信号とは同一波形であり、
前記制御部は、ノズル群毎に前記駆動信号の何れか一方を割り当てることを特徴とする。
なお、「同等」とは、第1駆動信号供給部の負荷と第2駆動信号供給部の負荷とが全く等しい状態の他、等級・程度が同じであり多少の不均等状態(均等に近い状態)を許容する意味である。
また、各ノズル列31と各駆動信号の全ての組み合わで発熱量を計算し、第1駆動信号供給部における負荷と第2駆動信号供給部における負荷とが最も均等に近くなるノズル列31と駆動信号の組み合わせを採用することもできる。
例えば、上記実施形態では、第1駆動信号COM1に含まれる吐出パルスと第2駆動信号COM2に含まれる吐出パルスが全く同じ構成である例を示したが、これには限られない。例えば、第1駆動信号COM1に含まれる吐出パルスと第2駆動信号COM2に含まれる吐出パルスが異なる構成を採用することも可能である。この場合、第1駆動信号COM1と第2駆動信号COM2に、同一波形の吐出パルスが少なくとも1つ含まれていれば良い。すなわち、第1駆動信号COM1の中の同一波形の吐出パルスと第2駆動信号COM2の中の同一波形の吐出パルスとのどちらを用いるかを、ノズル群毎に選択すれば、第1駆動信号COM1と第2駆動信号COM2との一方のみに含まれる形状のパルスが存在していても良い。
また、駆動信号は2つに限らず3つ以上存在していても、ノズル群毎にいずれの駆動信号を用いるかを選択すればよい。
Claims (3)
- 複数のノズルから成るノズル群を複数有し、圧力発生素子の作動によってノズルから液体を吐出可能な液体吐出ヘッドを備えた液体吐出装置であって、
前記圧力発生素子を駆動して液体を吐出させるための所定の吐出パルスを含む第1駆動信号を規定発生周期で発生する第1駆動信号生成部と、
前記吐出パルスを含む第2駆動信号を規定発生周期で発生する第2駆動信号生成部と、
液体の吐出を制御する吐出制御情報に基づいて、前記第1駆動信号又は前記第2駆動信号に含まれる吐出パルスを選択し、選択した吐出パルスを圧力発生素子に供給して液体の吐出を制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記第1駆動信号と前記第2駆動信号とは同一波形であり、
前記制御部は、ノズル群毎に前記駆動信号の何れか一方を割り当てることを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記第1駆動信号生成部から圧力発生素子に至るまでの第1駆動信号供給部の負荷と、前記第2駆動信号生成部から圧力発生素子に至るまでの第2駆動信号供給部の負荷とが同等になるように、各ノズル群の圧力発生素子に対する駆動信号の割り当てを決定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記吐出制御情報に基づいてノズル群毎に予想負荷を算出し、算出した予想負荷に応じて、各ノズル群の圧力発生素子に対して何れの駆動信号を割り当てるかを示す駆動信号選択情報を生成し、生成した駆動信号選択情報を前記吐出制御情報に付加し、前記駆動信号選択情報に基づいて、ノズル群の圧力発生素子に供給される駆動信号を選択することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液体吐出装置。
