Description
(a)少なくとも1つの無機材料を、場合により水性懸濁液の形態で供給すること、
(b)無機材料を粉砕すること、
(c)工程(b)に従って得られた粉砕無機材料を、場合により篩にかけることおよび/またはアップ濃縮すること、
(d)工程(b)または(c)に従って得られた粉砕無機材料を、場合により乾燥すること、
を含む粉砕無機材料の調製方法であり、工程(b)の過程での前記粉砕が、セリア含有酸化ジルコニウム粉砕用ビーズの存在下で実施され、該ビーズは、
前記ビーズの全重量に対して重量比で14から20%、好ましくは前記ビーズの全重量に対して重量比で15から18%、および最も好ましくは前記ビーズの全重量に対して重量比で約16%のセリア含量;および
前記ビーズを形成する粒子の焼結後、1μm未満、好ましくは0.5μm未満、および最も好ましくは0.3μm未満の平均粒子サイズ
を有することを特徴とする。
この実施例は、炭酸カルシウムの無機材料を、古典的な条件下(pH=8、温度は90℃未満、圧力は1バール未満)で、およびまた高いpH(8より上)および/または高温(90℃より上)および/または高圧(3バールより上)下で、粉砕する方法を説明し、該方法は、以下の方法に従う。
本発明(試験番号11から15):セリア含有酸化ジルコニウムの粉砕用ビーズは、
前記ビーズのセリア含量は、前記ビーズの全重量に対して重量比で16%であり、および
前記ビーズを形成する粒子の焼結後、0.4μmの平均粒子サイズ、
および0.45mmのビーズ径
を有する。
この実施例は、本発明による方法の使用を説明し、天然炭酸カルシウムが、前記ビーズの全重量に対して16重量%のセリア含量、前記ビーズを形成する粒子の焼結後0.4μmの平均粒子サイズ、および0.45mmのメディアンビーズ径を有するセリア含有酸化ジルコニウム粉砕用ビーズを使用して粉砕される。この後、粉砕材料は、原紙を塗工するために使用される塗工処方物に添加される。
10.5部 SBRラテックス
0.5部 合成増粘剤
0.2部 ポリビニルアルコール
0.2部 蛍光増白剤
上記の塗工物は、68%の最終固形分含量に調節され、10g/m2/面の塗工量で71g/m2の坪量を有する標準的なあらかじめ塗工された上質原紙上に塗布された。この後、この塗工された原紙は、以下のカレンダ条件、800m/分のカレンダ速度、200kN/cmのカンレンダ荷重および105℃の温度の下、スーパーカレンダを使用してカレンダされた。
この実施例は、本発明による方法の使用を説明し、2つの無機物、天然炭酸カルシウムおよび沈降炭酸カルシウムが、前記ビーズの全重量に対して16重量%のセリア含量、前記ビーズを形成する粒子の焼結後の0.4μmの平均粒子サイズ、および0.45mmのメディアンビーズ径を有するセリア含有酸化ジルコニウム粉砕用ビーズを使用して共粉砕される。この後、共粉砕材料は、原紙を塗工するために使用される塗工処方物に添加される。
10.5部 SBRラテックス
0.5部 合成増粘剤
0.2部 ポリビニルアルコール
0.2部 蛍光増白剤

この実施例は、本発明による方法の使用を示しており、3つの無機物、天然炭酸カルシウム、沈降炭酸カルシウムおよび粘土が、前記ビーズの全重量に対して16重量%のセリア含量、前記ビーズを形成する粒子の焼結後の0.4μmの平均粒子サイズ、および0.45mmのビーズの中央径を有するセリア含有酸化ジルコニウム粉砕用ビーズを使用して共粉砕される。次いで、共粉砕された材料は、原紙を塗工するために使用される塗工処方物に添加され、得られる光沢度が測定される。
0.8μmのメディアンPCC径を有し、およびアクリル酸のホモポリマーの0.7重量%(PCCの乾燥重量比で)を使用して調製された51%固形分含量のPCCスラリー、
およびLithoprint(商標)の名前でHUBER(商標)によって商品化された粘土の68%固形分含量スラリー。
ビーズの0.45mm中央径、ビーズ全重量に対する16重量%のCeO2含量および焼結後の0.45μmの粒度を特徴とするセリア含有酸化ジルコニウムの粉砕用ビーズを使用して、
これによりそれぞれ0.4および0.5μmの中央径を示す共粉砕材料をもたらした。
11部 SBRラテックス(DOW CHEMICALS(商標)により商品化されたDL966)
0.5部 合成増粘剤(FINNFIX(商標)により商品化されたCM
C FF5)
0.4部 ポリビニルアルコール(CLARIANT(商標)により商品化されたPVA4−98)
0.6部 蛍光増白剤(BAYER(商標)により商品化されたBlancophor(商標)P)
上記塗工物は、10g/m2/面の塗工量で78g/m2の坪量を有する標準的なトップコートの原紙に塗布された。この後、この塗工された原紙は、スーパーカレンダを使用して以下のカレンダ条件、300m/分のカレンダ速度、170kN/cmのカレンダ荷重および80℃の温度の下でカレンダされた。
Claims (17)
- a)少なくとも1つの無機材料を供給すること、
b)無機材料を7より上のpHにおいて粉砕すること、
の工程を含む粉砕無機材料の調製方法であって、工程(b)の過程での前記粉砕が、
ビーズの全重量に対して重量比で15から18%のセリア含量;および
ビーズを形成する粒子の焼結後、中央径1μm未満の平均粒子サイズ
を有するセリア含有酸化ジルコニウム粉砕用ビーズの存在下で実施されることを特徴とする粉砕無機材料の調製方法。 - ビーズが、0.2から1.5mmの初期径を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程(b)が、10より上のpHで起こることを特徴とする、請求項1または2のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(b)が、60℃より上の温度で起こることを特徴とする、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(b)で粉砕される無機材料の濃度が、スラリーの形態で10から80%(無機材料の乾燥重量で)の固形分含量であることを特徴とする、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 全乾燥無機材料に対して、重量%で0から2%の範囲で存在する少なくとも1つの分散および/または粉砕助剤が、工程(b)の前、間または後で添加されることを特徴とする、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 無機材料が、天然もしくは沈降炭酸カルシウム、粘土、タルク、Al2O3、TiO2またはこれらの混合物から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 無機材料が、天然もしくは沈降炭酸カルシウム、粘土、タルクまたはこれらの混合物から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 無機材料が、天然および沈降炭酸カルシウムならびに粘土の混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 無機材料が、天然および沈降炭酸カルシウムならびにタルクの混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 無機材料が、天然および沈降炭酸カルシウムの混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- GCCおよびPCCの全重量に対するPCCの重量分率が、10から90%であることを特徴とする、請求項9から11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(a)で供給される無機材料が、水性懸濁液の形態であり、および水性懸濁液が無機材料を乾燥重量で10から80%含有することを特徴とする、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(a)において水性懸濁液の形態で供給される無機材料が、天然の炭酸カルシウムであることを特徴とする、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)として工程(b)に従って得られた粉砕無機材料を篩にかけることおよび/または濃縮するステップが実施されることを特徴とする、請求項1から14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(d)として工程(b)または(c)に従って得られた粉砕無機材料を乾燥するステップが実施されることを特徴とする、請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程aが、少なくとも1つの無機材料を水性懸濁液の形態で供給することである、請求項1から16のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
