Description
過飽和濃度X=A−C×exp[6.2106−[(2486.7−1.0876C)/(T+273)]]
〔但し、A:溶解Al2O3濃度(g/L)、C:溶解Na2O濃度(g/L)、及びT:溶液温度(℃)である。〕
〔種子とする水酸化アルミニウムの調製〕
バイヤー法で調製した平均粒子径10μm、全ソーダ分含有量0.040質量%及びBET比表面積0.6m2/gの水酸化アルミニウムを純水と混合して500g/Lのスラリーを調製し、湿式粉砕機(三井三池化工社製アトライター)を用いて7時間湿式粉砕し、平均粒子径2.2μm、全ソーダ分含有量0.040質量%及びBET比表面積18.1m2/gの水酸化アルミニウムを調製し、種子とした。
溶解Na2O分が155g/L、溶解Al2O3分が100g/L、及びこれら溶解Na2O分と溶解Al2O3分とのモル比(Na2O/Al2O3)が2.6であって、過飽和Al2O3濃度が10g/Lのアルミン酸ナトリウム溶液を調製し、容積5m3の析出槽内にこのアルミン酸ナトリウム溶液2.5m3を種子添加前の析出溶液として仕込んだ。
析出槽内の種子添加前の析出溶液を70℃に加温し、この温度に維持しながら上で得られた種子とする水酸化アルミニウムを157m2/Lの添加率で一度に添加し、攪拌下に70℃に維持し、水酸化アルミニウムの析出操作を開始した。この析出操作開始後、毎日所定の時間に析出溶液の過飽和Al2O3濃度を測定し、上記の種子添加前のアルミン酸ナトリウム溶液(析出溶液)を連続的に追加する析出溶液追加操作を行って析出溶液の過飽和Al2O3濃度を15±5g/Lに維持した。
析出操作終了後、遠心分離機を用いて固液分離し、次いで70℃の温度の純水4.8m3を用いてリパルプした後に再び固液分離する水洗操作を3〜5回繰り返し、析出した水酸化アルミニウムを回収した。
結果を表1に示す。
種子として使用した水酸化アルミニウムの平均粒子径、全ソーダ(Na2O)分、BET比表面積、及び添加率と、析出溶液として用いたアルミン酸ナトリウム溶液の溶解Na2O分と溶解Al2O3分とのモル比(Na2O/Al2O3)及び過飽和Al2O3濃度とを表1に示す値に調整した以外は、上記実施例1と同様にして実施例2〜5の低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムを得た。
結果を表1に示す。
種子として使用した水酸化アルミニウムの平均粒子径、全ソーダ(Na2O)分、BET比表面積、及び添加率と、析出溶液として用いたアルミン酸ナトリウム溶液の溶解Na2O分と溶解Al2O3分とのモル比(Na2O/Al2O3)及び過飽和Al2O3濃度とを表1に示す値に調整し、水酸化アルミニウムを析出させた後、濾過機で固液分離し水洗して、乾燥機で乾燥し、解砕機又は粉砕機で解砕又は粉砕して、比較例1〜3の水酸化アルミニウムを得た。
結果を表1に示す。
Claims (6)
- 未粉砕であって平均粒子径5μm以下、全ソーダ(Na 2 O)分0.03質量%以下、及びBET比表面積4m 2 /g以下のギブサイト型低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムをバイヤー法により製造するに際し、アルミン酸ナトリウム溶液からなる析出溶液中に、種子として平均粒子径3μm以下、全ソーダ(Na2O)分0.1質量%以下及びBET比表面積13.9m 2 /g以上の水酸化アルミニウムを添加すると共に、過飽和Al2O 3濃度15±5g/Lの条件で析出溶液から水酸化アルミニウムを析出させることを特徴とする低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 種子添加率が100m 2 /L以上300m 2 /L以下である請求項1に記載の低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 析出溶液は、その溶解Na2O分と溶解Al2O3分とのモル比(Na2O/Al2O3)が4.0以下である請求項1又は2に記載の低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 析出溶液は、種子添加前に過飽和Al2O3濃度15±5g/L及び溶液温度50℃以上に調整される請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 水酸化アルミニウムの析出操作中、過飽和Al2O3濃度15〜70g/Lのアルミン酸ナトリウム溶液を連続的に又は間欠的に添加して析出溶液の過飽和Al2O 3濃度を15±5g/Lの範囲内に維持する請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 水酸化アルミニウムの析出操作中、降温速度を調整して析出溶液の過飽和Al2O 3濃度を15±5g/Lの範囲内に維持する請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の低ソーダ微粒水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
