Description
Luらの米国特許出願公開第2007/0078235A1号は、粉体塗膜における向上された適合性、上塗り可能性、柔軟性および顔料分散をもたらすグリシジル(メタ)アクリラートおよびカプロラクトン(メタ)アクリラートのコポリマーを含むコーティング粉体を開示する。しかし、Luらの公報は従来のエポキシ官能性アクリルクリアコート粉体塗膜よりも優れた糸状腐食耐性を有する塗膜を提供するコーティング粉体を開示できていない。
エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーまたはコポリマー混合物は、エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分において共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準にして、10〜40重量%のエポキシ官能性不飽和モノマーの共重合生成物を含む。使用されるエポキシ官能性不飽和モノマーの量が、共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準にして10重量%未満である場合には、それは耐溶媒性および機械的強度の向上について測定できる程度に貢献しない。一方で、その量が40重量%を超える場合には、腐食耐性においてさらなる向上が得られない。
次の実施例が本発明の有用性を示す。
フィルム厚さ:乾燥フィルム厚さは、DeFelsko Corporation, Ogdensburg,ニューヨーク州のPOSITECTOR商標モデル6000−FN1 Coating Thickness Gaugeを用いて測定され、フィルム厚さはASTM D1400−00「非鉄金属ベースに適用された非導電塗膜の乾燥膜厚さの非破壊的測定の標準試験方法[Standard Test Method for Nondestructive Measurement of Dry Film Thickness of Nonconductive Coatings Applied to a Nonferrous Metal Base]」2000に従って測定された。フィルム厚さはパネルの中心部で測定された3つの読み取り値の範囲(低から高)として報告される。
被覆されたホイールセクションにおける糸状腐食耐性を測定するために、DIN ISO EN9227 CASS手順が、リンスすることなく続いた。次いで、得られた標本は82%RH、60℃に672時間の間、直接に配置された。それぞれの標本上のフィラメントのすべての長さはメートル定規で測定され、平均クリーページ(フィラメントの長さ)および最大クリーページ(最長のフィラメント長さ)が以下の表3に報告される。
CASS試験前および試験後の両方において、被覆された基体がErichsen Model508ストーンチップ試験機(Erichsen,Hemer,ドイツ)における4−5mm鋼粒で撃たれた acc.DIN EN ISO11124−2(2002)。報告されるK値は1/2増大点において0.5〜5の範囲であり、DIN55996−1文献における10「K」参照フォトとの比較により評価される、損傷した領域のパーセント(%)およびチッピングの程度を表す。K値は損傷した表面積の比率に関連する。より低いK値はより良好であり;2.0またはそれより良好なK値は試験に合格する。
原料成分がPrismミキサーで30秒間、2100RPMでブレンドされ、ついでZSK30(Coperion Werner&Pfleiderer,シュトゥットガルト,ドイツ)において、400rpm、15−30%トルクおよび90−130℃バレル温度セッティングで押し出されたという方法に従って、コーティング粉体は次の表2に示された実施例2の成分から形成された。得られる溶融押し出し混合物は冷却されたチルロールを通して供給され、固体シートを形成し、これはその後にチップ形態に顆粒化された。袋を0.25−0.5分の間振ることにより乾燥流動添加剤がそのチップと混合された。次いで、ポストブレンド処理されたチップは、ZM100ラボミル(Retsch,ヴッパータール−ハーン,ドイツ)中、18.000rpmで、0.5mmスクリーンサイズスクリーンを用いて微細粉体に粉砕された。得られる粉砕された粉体は125μmメッシュサイズのふるいを通して選別され、Nordson Versa−spray商標静電噴霧ガン(Nordson社、アマースト、オハイオ)を用いて、示された厚さまで、示された基体に適用され、次いで、175℃で20分間、電気加熱ラボオーブン中で硬化され、粉体塗膜を形成した。
2.Aerosil商標R−972、ジメチルジクロロシラン処理されたフュームドシリカ、約70%の表面ヒドロキシルがメチル化されている;Degussa社、Parsippany、ニュージャージー州。
3.Resiflow商標PL200、ただし実施例2においてはResiflow商標PW155、Estron,Chemical、カルバートシティ、ケンタッキー州。
4.Tinuvin商標928、ただし実施例2においてはTinuvin商標900、Ciba Specialty Chemicals、タリタウン、ニューヨーク州。
5.Epikote商標GT1003、Hexion Specialty Chemicals、コロンバス、オハイオ州。
実施例1〜5におけるホイールセクション:クロム不使用自己組織化単分子膜(Gardobond商標X−4707 X−4661、Chemetall,フランクフルト アム マイン,ドイツ)前処理された、機械加工されたアルミニウム合金(Ford スポーク7M2J−1007−AA(AlSi7Mgwa))ホイールセクション、これは6.5〜7.5%のケイ素、0.25〜0.45重量%のMg、0.10重量%未満のFe、0.03重量%未満のCu、0.06〜0.07重量%のZn、0.14重量%のTi、および0.02重量%のMnでドープされたアルミニウムから構成される、Ford Motor Company,ディアボーン、ミシガン州。
実施例1〜5におけるパネル:Gardobond商標X−4707 X−4661前処理された、10.16cm×15.24cm(4”×6”)AA6016アルミニウムパネル、Chemetall,フランクフルト アム マイン,ドイツから入手可能。塗膜は15分間硬化され、190.6℃(375°F)の基体表面温度を達成し、50−75μmの厚さを有する塗膜を与えた。
Claims (12)
- クリアコートまたは着色クリアコート粉体塗膜を提供するコーティング粉体組成物であって、
当該コーティング粉体組成物は、エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分と、アクリルコポリマーのための1種以上の架橋剤とを含み;
前記エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分は1種のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーまたは2種以上のコポリマーの混合物であり;
前記エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分の少なくとも1種のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーは40℃〜90℃のTgを有し、共重合されたモノマーとして、i)10〜40重量%の1種以上のエポキシ官能性不飽和モノマー、ii)2.0重量%〜13重量%の1種以上の疎水性アクリルモノマー、ただし、当該1種以上の疎水性アクリルモノマーは3.5g/L以下の水中での質量溶解度を有し、それ自体が50℃〜175℃のガラス転移温度(Tg)を有するホモポリマーを形成するであろうものである、およびiii)残部を構成する、疎水性アクリルモノマーii)とは異なる1種以上の非イオン性コモノマーを含み、各モノマーの重量%はエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分において共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準とし;
前記エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分が1種のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーを含む場合には、コーティング粉体は接着促進剤と、疎水性サブミクロン粒子、光安定化剤および紫外線(UV)吸収剤から選択される1種以上のアジュバントとをさらに含む;コーティング粉体組成物。 - 1種以上の疎水性アクリルモノマーii)がビシクロアルキル(メタ)アクリラートを含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング粉体。
- 1種以上の架橋剤が有機ジカルボン酸もしくは無水物、またはそれとポリエステルもしくはポリイソシアナートとの付加物である請求項1に記載のコーティング粉体。
- エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分が、エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分において共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準にして、12重量%以下のビニル芳香族モノマーiv)を有するコポリマーまたはコポリマー混合物を含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング粉体。
- 1種以上の接着促進剤をさらに含む請求項1に記載のコーティング粉体。
- エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分が1種以上のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーと、共重合された疎水性アクリルモノマーii)の含有量が共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準として2.0重量%以下である、1種以上の第2のコポリマーとのコポリマー混合物を含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング粉体。
- 第2のコポリマーと混合される1種以上のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーが、共重合されたビニル芳香族モノマーiv)を含まない、請求項6に記載のコーティング粉体。
- 第2のコポリマーが、エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーにおいて共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準にして30重量%までの1種以上のビニル芳香族モノマーiv)を共重合された形態でさらに含むエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーである、請求項7に記載のコーティング粉体。
- エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分と、熱硬化性アクリルコポリマーのための1種以上の架橋剤とを含むコーティング粉体から製造された、金属基体上の塗膜であって;
前記エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分が1種のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーまたは2種以上のコポリマーの混合物であり;
前記エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分の少なくとも1種のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーは40℃〜90℃のTgを有し、共重合されたモノマーとして、i)10〜40重量%の1種以上のエポキシ官能性不飽和モノマー、ii)2.0重量%〜13重量%の1種以上の疎水性アクリルモノマー、ただし、当該1種以上の疎水性アクリルモノマーは3.5g/L以下の水中での質量溶解度を有し、それ自体が50℃〜175℃のガラス転移温度(Tg)を有するホモポリマーを形成するであろうものである、およびiii)残部を構成する、疎水性アクリルモノマーii)とは異なる1種以上の非イオン性コモノマーを含み、各モノマーの重量%はエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分において共重合されたモノマーの合計重量を基準にし;
前記エポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマー成分が1種のエポキシ官能性アクリルコポリマーを含む場合には、コーティング粉体が接着促進剤と、疎水性サブミクロン粒子、光安定化剤および紫外線(UV)吸収剤から選択される1種以上のアジュバントとをさらに含む;金属基体上の塗膜。 - 金属がアルミニウムまたは鍛造合金である、請求項9に記載の塗膜。
- ビニル芳香族モノマーがスチレンを含む、請求項4に記載のコーティング粉体。
- 非イオン性コモノマーが12重量%以下のスチレンを含む、請求項9に記載の塗膜。
