Description
以下の工程:
(a)ペレット化チャンバーを、重合体融解物に対して不活性な気体で、ペレット化を行う圧力に充満させる(flooding)工程、
(b)重合体融解物を、ペレット化チャンバーへ注入する工程、及び
(c)重合体融解物が切断装置を通過し始めると直ぐに、ペレット化チャンバーからの気体を液体によって置換して、この融解物をペレットに切断する工程、
を含むことを特徴とする方法によって達成される。

Claims (7)
- 切断装置が挿入されたペレット化チャンバー中で、環境気圧を超える圧力で、重合体融解物をペレット化する方法であって、
以下の工程:
(a)ペレット化チャンバーを、重合体融解物に対して不活性な気体で、ペレット化を行う圧力に充満させる工程、
(b)重合体融解物を、ペレット化チャンバーへ注入する工程、及び
(c)重合体融解物が切断装置を通過し始めると直ぐに、ペレット化チャンバーからの気体を液体によって置換して、この融解物をペレットに切断する工程、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記気体が窒素又は空気である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 気体の液体による置換の後、重合体融解物をペレット化チャンバーに継続して注入し、重合体融解物を切断装置において切断してペレットを得、ペレット化工程において製造されたペレットを、ペレット化チャンバーから液体とともに排出し、次いで、ペレットを液体から分離する工程を含む請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記ペレット化チャンバーにおける圧力が、0.2〜1.5MPa(2〜15bar)の範囲である請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法を行う装置であって、液体循環ライン(26)に接続されたペレット化チャンバー(20)を含み、重合体融解物がダイヘッド(1)によってペレット化チャンバー(20)に注入され、ダイヘッド(1)はダイオリフィス(8)が設けられており、且つダイオリフィス(8)のL/D比が50〜90の範囲であることを特徴とする装置。
- ダイヘッド(1)が、入口モジュール(2)、中間モジュール(6)及び出口モジュール(7)から構成され、ダイオリフィス(8)は、入口モジュール(2)、中間モジュール(6)及び出口モジュール(7)において、軸方向に同一の位置で設計されている請求項5に記載の装置。
- ダイヘッド(1)が、L/D比の調節のために複数の中間モジュール(6)を含み、ダイオリフィス(8)の距離が所望の距離になるまで、中間モジュール(6)が直列に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
