Claims (18)
- 電極組立体と、
前記電極組立体に結合されたセンターピンと、
前記センターピンに組込まれ、充電電圧が基準電圧以上になる場合にショートされる回路部材と、
前記回路部材が組込まれたセンターピン及び電極組立体が収容された缶と、
前記缶の開口部に結合されたキャップ組立体と、を含み、
前記回路部材は、
基準電圧を提供する基準電圧源と、
一の端子には前記基準電圧源からの基準電圧が入力され、他の端子には電池電圧が入力されて、前記電池電圧が前記基準電圧以上の場合にショート信号を出力する電圧比較器と、
前記電極組立体に並列に連結されると共に、前記電圧比較器からのショート信号によりオンされて当該電極組立体をショートさせるショート用スイッチと、を含むことを特徴とする円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。 - 前記基準電圧源の基準電圧は、4〜5Vの間に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記ショート用スイッチは、トランジスタであって、コレクタ及びエミッタが前記電極組立体と並列に連結され、ベースが前記電圧比較器の出力端子に連結されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記トランジスタのエミッタと前記電極組立体との間には、発熱部材が連結されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記発熱部材には、所定温度でガス化して内圧を増加させるガス化部材が装着されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記発熱部材には、所定温度でガス化して発火を抑制する難燃部材が装着されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記発熱部材には、所定温度でガス化して内圧を増加させるガス化部材と、所定温度でガス化して発火を抑制する難燃部材とが装着されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記発熱部材は、前記ガス化部材を全てガス化させた後、200〜300℃の温度になると溶断されるヒューズであることを特徴とする請求項5または7に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記発熱部材は、前記難燃部材を全てガス化させた後、200〜300℃の温度になると溶断されるヒューズであることを特徴とする請求項6または7に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記ガス化部材は、シクロヘキシルベンゼン及びビフェニルのうち少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする請求項5、7、8のいずれか1つに記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記難燃部材は、水酸化マグネシウム系、水酸化アルミニウム系、ハロゲン系、三酸化アンチモン系、メラミン系、及び燐酸塩系物質よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの物質を含むことを特徴とする請求項6、7、9のいずれか1つに記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記基準電圧源には、前記電圧比較器がショート信号を出力した後、当該基準電圧源を接地させて前記基準電圧を0Vに下降させる接地用スイッチが連結されることを特徴とする請求項1〜11のいずれか1つに記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記接地用スイッチは、トランジスタであって、コレクタ及びエミッタが前記基準電圧源と接地との間に連結されており、ベースが前記電圧比較器の出力端子に連結されることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記キャップ組立体は、
前記センターピン近傍に位置した安全ベントと、
前記安全ベント上に位置した回路基板と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜13のいずれか1つに記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。 - 前記回路部材は、
前記センターピンの内側に位置し、複数の電子部品が組込まれた回路基板と、
前記回路基板の一端と前記安全ベントとを連結する第1導電タブと、
前記回路基板の他端と前記缶とを連結する第2導電タブと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項14に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。 - 電極組立体の中央部にセンターピンが結合された円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池であって、
前記センターピンの内部には、過充電時にショートされて電流を消費させる回路部材が設けられ、
前記回路部材は、
基準電圧を提供する基準電圧源と、
一の端子には前記基準電圧源からの基準電圧が入力され、他の端子には電池電圧が入力されて、前記電池電圧が前記基準電圧以上の場合にショート信号を出力する電圧比較器と、
前記電極組立体に並列に連結されると共に、前記電圧比較器からのショート信号によりオンされて当該電極組立体をショートさせるショート用スイッチと、を含むことを特徴とする円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。 - 前記回路部材には、ショートにより発生する熱で分解されてガスを発生し、内圧を高めるガス化部材が装着されることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
