Description
燃料極11:H2→2H++2e−
空気極13:1/2O2+2H++2e−→H20
全体反応:H2+1/2O2→H20
すなわち、燃料極11から分離された電子が外部回路を経て電流を発生させることにより電池の機能を果たすことになる。このような燃料電池10はSOxとNOxなどの環境有害物質をほとんど排出しなく、かつ二酸化炭素の発生も少ないので無公害発電であり、低騷音、無振動などの長所がある。
第1金属電極23:Mg→Mg2++2e−
第2金属電極24:2H2O+2e−→H2+2(OH)−
全体反応:Mg+2H20→Mg(OH)2+H2
このような水素発生反応が行われると水素の流量が急激に増加して電解槽内部の水が溢れる問題点が発生しうる。よって、水素発生反応速度を調節する必要がある。また、この反応の結果で水酸化マグネシウム(Mg(OH)2)が生成されるが、この水酸化マグネシウムは水に対する溶解度が約12mg/Lに過ぎない。よって、この反応が続くと電解槽内に水酸化マグネシウムがスラリー状態で存在することになるので水の移動を阻害する要因となり結果的に水素の発生効率を低下させうる。

電極使用個数:マグネシウム3つ、ステンレススチール3つ
電極連結方式:直列連結
水溶液の体積:20cc
電極の大きさ:40mm×60mm×1mm
この水素発生装置に下記表1のような塩化カリウムとクエン酸ナトリウムとを添加して電気化学反応により発生する水素量を流量測定計(Mass Flow Meter、MFM)で測定し、水素発生(40cc/min)持続時間を測定した。そして、その結果を下記表1及び図3に示した。

Claims (6)
- 水と、
イオン化化合物である塩化カリウム5重量%ないし35重量%と、
キレート剤であるクエン酸ナトリウム5重量%ないし20重量%と
を含んでなる水素発生装置用電解質溶液。 - 水と、イオン化化合物である塩化カリウム5重量%ないし35重量%と、キレート剤であるクエン酸ナトリウム5重量%ないし20重量%とを含有する電解質溶液を収容する電解槽と、
前記電解槽の内部に位置し前記電解質溶液に浸けられ、電子を発生させる第1金属電極と、
前記電解槽の内部に位置し前記電解質溶液に浸けられ、前記電子を受けて水素を発生させる第2金属電極と
を備える水素発生装置。 - 前記第1金属電極がマグネシウムから構成される請求項2に記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記水素発生装置が燃料電池に結合され水素を供給する請求項2または3に記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記第1金属電極及び前記第2金属電極が前記電解槽内にそれぞれ複数個設置される請求項2ないし4のいずれか1項に記載の水素発生装置。
- 請求項2ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の水素発生装置と、
前記水素発生装置から生成された水素の供給を受けて、前記水素の化学エネルギーを電気エネルギーに変換して直流電流を生産する膜電極接合体と
を備える燃料電池システム。
