全反応:H2+1/2O2→H2O
〔化学式2〕
第1金属電極23:Mg→Mg2++2e−
第2金属電極24:2H2O+2e−→H2+2OH−
全体反応:Mg+2H2O→Mg(OH)2+H2
Mg(OH)2+2NH4Cl→Mg(Cl)2+2NH4OH
下記のような条件で水素発生装置を構成して、電気化学的反応により発生する水素量を流量測定計(MFM、Mass Flow Meter)で測定し、その結果を図3に示した。
第1金属電極23:3gのマグネシウム
第2金属電極24:ステンレススチール
電極間の距離:3mm
電解質の種類及び濃度:30wt%KCl
塩化アンモニウムの量:0.5g(0.156M)
電極使用個数:マグネシウム3個、ステンレススチール3個
電極連結方式:直列連結
電解質水溶液の体積:60cc
電極の大きさ:24mm×85mm×1mm
0.5g(0.156M)の塩化アンモニウムを添加しないことを除き、上記実施例と同様な方法で行って、その結果も図3に示した。

Claims (5)
- 電解質水溶液が入っている電解槽と、
前記電解槽の内部に位置し前記電解質水溶液に浸けられ、電子を発生させる第1金属電極と、
前記電解槽の内部に位置し前記電解質水溶液に浸けられ、前記電子を受けて水素を発生させる第2金属電極とを備える水素発生装置であって、
前記第1金属電極がマグネシウムからなり、前記電解質水溶液には水酸化マグネシウムの溶解補助剤として塩化アンモニウムが添加されていることを特徴とする水素発生装置。 - 前記電解質水溶液に含まれる塩化アンモニウムの濃度が0.05〜2Mであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記水素発生装置が燃料電池に結合されて水素を供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記第1金属電極及び第2金属電極が、前記電解槽内にそれぞれ少なくとも2つ以上設置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の水素発生装置。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の水素発生装置と、
前記水素発生装置より生成された水素の供給を受け、前記水素の化学エネルギーを電気エネルギーに変換して直流電流を生産する膜電極接合体(MEA)と、
を含む燃料電池システム。
