(1)成形容器の稜線部分、
(2)成形容器の壁面とフランジ部の境界、
(3)3つの稜線の角部
等々に皺や浮きが発生するという問題があり、通常は、特許文献5の図4、5に示されているように、特許文献5の図3の包装容器をインモールド成形法で成形する場合には、上記した部分は包装材が存在しない状態の包装材(上記した部分を切除した展開形状の包装材)を用いてインモールド成形されるものである。そのために、上記した(1)、(2)、(3)の部分は、包装材で被覆されないために、この部分の水蒸気バイヤー性が好ましいものではなく、リチウム電池の外装体としては問題のある包装容器であるし、また、特許文献5の図3に示されている包装容器は、包装材が成形容器の外面に貼着されているものであり、成形容器のフランジ部15においては成形容器の樹脂そのものが端面に露出しているために、この部分からの水蒸気バリアー性において上記と同様に好ましいものではなく、リチウム電池の外装体としては問題のある包装容器である。
図1は本発明にかかるリチウム電池用包装容器に用いる包装材の層構成の一実施例を図解的に示す図、図2は本発明にかかるリチウム電池用包装容器に用いる包装材の層構成の他の実施例を図解的に示す図、図3は本発明にかかるリチウム電池用包装容器であって、(a)は一実施例を図解的に示す断面図、(b)は他の実施例を図解的に示す断面図、図4は本発明のリチウム電池に用いる蓋体の一実施例を図解的に示す層構成図、図5は本発明にかかるリチウム電池の一実施例を概略的に示す断面図、図6は本発明にかかるリチウム電池用包装容器のさらに他の実施例を図解的に示す断面図、図7は本発明にかかるリチウム電池用包装容器のさらにまた他の実施例を図解的に示す断面図であり、図中の1,1’は包装材、2,2’,2”,2’’’は包装容器、3は蓋体、10,60は熱接着性樹脂層、20,21,22,50は接着層、30は化成処理層、40は金属箔層、70は基材層、Aは射出成形樹脂層、Dはリチウム電池、Tは金属端子、αはフランジ部をそれぞれ示す。
予め、フェノール樹脂、フッ化クロム(三価)化合物、リン酸の3成分からなる化成処理液で両面を化成処理(リン酸クロメート処理)して両面に化成処理層を有する50μm厚さのアルミニウム箔(以下、AL箔と呼称する)の一方の面に25μm厚さの2軸延伸ナイロンフィルム(以下、ONフィルムと呼称する)を2液硬化型ポリウレタン系接着剤を介して積層して後に、他方の面に不飽和カルボン酸でグラフト変性したポリプロピレン樹脂(以下、PPaと呼称する)をTダイ押出機で20μm厚さに加熱溶融押出しして30μm厚さの未延伸ポリプロピレンフィルム(以下、CPPフィルムと呼称する)をサンドイッチラミネーション法にて積層し、ONフィルム25μm/接着剤層/化成処理層/AL箔50μm/化成処理層/PPa20μm/CPPフィルム30μmの蓋体を作製した。
予め、フェノール樹脂、フッ化クロム(三価)化合物、リン酸の3成分からなる化成処理液で両面を化成処理(リン酸クロメート処理)して両面に化成処理層を有する50μm厚さのアルミニウム箔(以下、AL箔と呼称する)の一方の面に50μm厚さのCPPフィルムを2液硬化型ポリウレタン系接着剤を介して積層して後に、他方の面にPPaをTダイ押出機で20μm厚さに加熱溶融押出しして30μm厚さのCPPフィルムをサンドイッチラミネーション法にて積層し、CPPフィルム50μm/接着剤層/化成処理層/AL箔50μm/化成処理層/PPa20μm/CPPフィルム30μmの成形容器用包装材を作製した。
予め、フェノール樹脂、フッ化クロム(三価)化合物、リン酸の3成分からなる化成処理液で両面を化成処理(リン酸クロメート処理)して両面に化成処理層を有する50μm厚さのアルミニウム箔(以下、AL箔と呼称する)の一方の面に25μm厚さのONフィルムと50μm厚さのCPPフィルムとを2液硬化型ポリウレタン系接着剤を介して順に積層して後に、他方の面にPPaをTダイ押出機で20μm厚さに加熱溶融押出しして30μm厚さのCPPフィルムをサンドイッチラミネーション法にて積層し、CPPフィルム50μm/接着剤層/ONフィルム25μm/接着剤層/化成処理層/AL箔50μm/化成処理層/PPa20μm/CPPフィルム30μmの成形容器用包装材を作製した。
上記で作製した成形容器用包装材iおよび成形容器用包装材iiを裁断して80×80mmの短冊片を作製し、33×55mmの矩形状の雄型とこの雄型とのクリアランスが0.5mmの雌型からなるストレート金型(雄型のコーナーRは2mm、稜線Rは1mm、雌型のコーナーRは2mm、稜線Rは1mm)を用い、雄型側に30μm厚さのCPPフィルム側が位置するように雌型上に短冊片を載置すると共に短冊片を0.1MPaの押え圧(面圧)で押えて、6.5mmの成形深さに冷間成形し、周縁のフランジ部が5mm幅となるようにトリミングした成形容器をそれぞれ作製した。
上記で作製したそれぞれの成形容器を射出成形金型のキャビティー内に配置し、キャビティー内にポリプロピレン樹脂を射出して成形し、図3(a)、(b)に示すような成形容器の外表面に500μm厚さの射出成形樹脂層を形成した電池用包装容器2、2’を作製した。前記電池用包装容器2、2’は成形容器と射出成形樹脂層との間で皺や浮き等が全くない美麗な容器を得ることができた。
上記で作製した電池用包装容器2、2’を上記で作製した蓋体で一方の短辺側に開口を有するように三周縁のフランジ部でヒートシールすると共に、ドライルーム(露点−50℃)中において、開口部から3gの溶媒〔エチレンカーボネート/ジエチルカーボネート/ジメチルカーボネート=1/1/1(容積比)〕を注入して後にフランジ部でヒートシールして開口部を密封して水蒸気バリアー性評価サンプルをそれぞれ10サンプル作製した。この水蒸気バリアー性評価サンプルを60℃、90%RHの恒温恒湿槽に500時間保存し、サンプル内部の水分の増加量をカールフィッシャー法で測定した。水分透過量はいずれも180〜200ppm/60℃・90%RH・500時間であり、極めて優れた水蒸気バリアー性を示した。

Claims (5)
- 少なくとも熱接着性樹脂層と、接着層と、2軸延伸フィルムで構成した基材層と、接着層と、金属箔層と、化成処理層と、接着層と、熱接着性樹脂層とが順に積層された包装材をプレス成形して周縁にフランジ部を有する成形容器となし、これにインサート成形法にて前記包装材の前記基材層に対して金属箔層が存在する側の前記熱接着性樹脂層が凹部側となるように射出成形して前記成形容器の凸部側の外表面に射出成形樹脂層を形成したことを特徴とする電池用包装容器。
- 請求項1記載の電池用包装容器において、前記容器内に少なくとも正極および負極を備えた電池要素を収納すると共に、前記正極および負極の各々に接続された金属端子を前記包装容器の前記フランジ部から外側に突出させ、開口部を蓋体で被覆すると共にフランジ部で熱接着して密封したことを特徴とする電池。
- 前記蓋体が、少なくとも2軸延伸フィルムで構成した基材層と、金属箔層と、化成処理層と、接着層と、熱接着性樹脂層とが順に積層された包装材からなることを特徴とする請求項2記載の電池。
- 前記蓋体が、請求項1記載の電池用包装容器であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の電池。
- 前記蓋体が、少なくとも熱接着性樹脂層と、接着層と、2軸延伸フィルムで構成した基材層と、接着層と、金属箔層と、化成処理層と、接着層と、熱接着性樹脂層とが順に積層された包装材をインサート成形法にて射出成形して、前記包装材の前記金属箔層に対して基材層側の前記熱接着性樹脂層面に射出成形樹脂層を形成したものであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の電池。
