Description
すなわち、表面がダル仕上げされたメッキ鋼鈑を用いた電池缶は、その表面の凸部で接触圧が高まることによって機器との間に安定かつ良好な電気接触状態を形成することができる。しかし、その電池缶が絞りプレス加工で作製される際に、表面が傷やメッキ剥れなどの損傷を受けやすい。このため、電池缶の内側面では下地の鉄が露出し、電池内部でガス発生が促進される、という背反が生じる。
片面側を電池缶の外側となる面とするとともに、他面側を当該電池缶の内側となる面として、
メッキの下地となる鋼鈑は、前記片面がダル(粗面)仕上げで、前記他面がブライト(鏡面)仕上げであり、
前記片面側のメッキ表面の平均粗さ(Ra:JIS B060 1976に規定された中心線平均粗さ、以下同じ)が0.6μm以上であり、
前記他面側のメッキ表面の平均粗さ(Ra)が0.4μm以下であり、
前記片面側は、硫黄化合物を添加しないメッキ工程によりメッキ層が形成されており、
前記鋼鈑と前記メッキの層との間にはニッケル−鉄の拡散層がなく、
前記他面側のメッキ厚は、1.5μm以上である、
ことを特徴とする電池缶用メッキ鋼鈑。
試験用のサンプル電池として、図1示した構成を有するLR6型アルカリ乾電池を作製したが、その構成は次の3通りの組み合わせで異ならせた。
電池缶の内側となる面に形成されたメッキ表面の平均粗さ(Ra)を異ならせた試験用のサンプル電池を作製し、各サンプルの漏液発生率を調べた。この場合、メッキ厚は各サンプル共に1.5μmとした。漏液発生率は90℃で10日保存した後の20個中の発生数を計数した。
電池缶に用いたニッケルメッキ鋼鈑のメッキ厚を異ならせた試験用サンプル電池を作製し、各サンプルの漏液発生率を調べた。この場合、電池缶の内側となる面は、そこに形成されたメッキ表面の平均粗さ(Ra)が一律に0.4μmとなるようにした。漏液発生率は90℃で10日保存した後の20個中の発生数を計数した。

Claims (4)
- ニッケルを主とするメッキが両面に施された電池缶用メッキ鋼鈑であって、
片面側を電池缶の外側となる面とするとともに、他面側を当該電池缶の内側となる面として、
メッキの下地となる鋼鈑は、前記片面がダル(粗面)仕上げで、前記他面がブライト(鏡面)仕上げであり、
前記片面側のメッキ表面の平均粗さ(Ra:JIS B060 1976に規定された中心線平均粗さ、以下同じ)が0.6μm以上であり、
前記他面側のメッキ表面の平均粗さ(Ra)が0.4μm以下であり、
前記片面側は、硫黄化合物を添加しないメッキ工程によりメッキ層が形成されており、
前記鋼鈑と前記メッキの層との間にはニッケル−鉄の拡散層がなく、
前記他面側のメッキ厚は、1.5μm以上である、
ことを特徴とする電池缶用メッキ鋼鈑。 - 請求項1に記載の前記メッキ鋼鈑を用いた電池缶であって、前記片面側を外側とし、前記他面側を内側として、有低筒状にプレス加工されてなる電池缶。
- 請求項2に記載の前記電池缶内に発電要素が収容されつつ、当該電池缶の開口が密閉封止されてなるとともに、当該電池缶が一方極の電池端子を兼ねていることを特徴とする電池。
- 一方極の電池端子を兼ねる有低筒状の金属製電池缶を用いたアルカリ乾電池であって、当該金属製電池缶として、請求項2に記載の電池缶を用いたことを特徴とするアルカリ乾電池。
