Claims (5)
- 先端側から基端側に延びる軸線を有する工具本体を備え、該工具本体に切削用インサートを着脱可能に装着する、刃先交換式切削工具であって、
前記工具本体に形成された複数のインサート取付座と、
前記工具本体に一体的に形成された複数の上壁部であって、該複数の上壁部の各々が前記複数のインサート取付座のうちの対応する1つのインサート取付座に対して張り出す複数の上壁部と
を備え、
前記複数の上壁部の各々には、対応する1つのインサート取付座に隣り合うインサート取付座が形成され、
前記複数の上壁部の各々は、対応するインサート取付座に切削用インサートが取り付けられたとき、該切削用インサートの少なくとも一部を覆うように張り出し、かつ、前記インサート取付座に対するその基端側の張り出し量がその先端側の張り出し量よりも大きくなるように形成されることにより対応する1つのインサート取付座に隣り合うインサート取付座における切削用インサートを支持する部分の厚さを増すように形成されていて、
前記複数の上壁部の各々は、対応するインサート取付座のねじ孔へ該上壁部を介さずに取付ねじが前記切削用インサートの取付孔を通してねじ込まれるように、かつ、該ねじ孔よりも該工具本体の基端側において該上壁部が先端側から基端側に向かうに従い張り出し量を増して該ねじ孔よりも該インサート取付座の外周側に位置する部分の上に向けて張り出すように、形付けられている
ことを特徴とする刃先交換式切削工具。 - 前記複数のインサート取付座の各々に設けられたねじ孔であって、前記切削用インサートを前記インサート取付座に取り付けるときに該切削用インサートの取付孔を通して取付ねじがねじ込まれるねじ孔を備え、
前記複数の上壁部の各々は、前記ねじ孔への前記取付ねじのねじ込みを阻害しないように、形付けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の刃先交換式切削工具。 - 前記複数の上壁部の各々の先端部は略一定の張り出し量で形成され、前記複数の上壁部の各々の基端部はその張り出し量が先端側から基端側に向かうに従い漸次大きくなるように形成されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の刃先交換式切削工具。
- 前記複数のインサート取付座の各々は、底壁面と、該底壁面と直角を成すように延在する側壁面および端壁面を備え、
前記複数のインサート取付座の各々において、該側壁面および該端壁面と直角を成すと共に前記底壁面と対向するように延在する上壁面が対応する前記上壁部に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の刃先交換式切削工具。 - 前記複数の上壁部の各々は、対応する前記インサート取付座に向けて貫通する止めねじ孔を備え、
任意のインサート取付座において、前記インサート取付座に前記切削用インサートが取り付けられたとき、前記インサート取付座に対して前記切削用インサートを押し付けるように、止めねじが、前記止めねじ孔にねじ込まれることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の刃先交換式切削工具。
