Siral−40シリカ−アルミナのSB比=2.1〜2.8
MS−25シリカ−アルミナのSB比=0.2〜0.6
(1)シリカ及びアルミナを含む透明なゾルを調製すること、及び
(2)塩基溶液を用いてゾルをゲル化すること、
である。
下記の3種の均質共ゲルシリカ−アルミナサンプルを触媒の調製に用いた。このシリカ−アルミナは、内部Si/Al原子比がほぼ1.0である。XPSによって測定した表面のSi/Al比が内部の組成比と一致するので、この組成は一様であり、XRDによって検出された分離した結晶性アルミナ相は10%未満である。この均質共ゲルシリカ−アルミナの特性を下の表にまとめて示す。
基本ケースとなる、表2の均質シリカ−アルミナサンプル#1を含む水素化分解触媒は、以下の手順に従って調製した。(特許出願XXXXに従って合成した)シリカ−アルミナ粉末#1の75部と(Vista社より入手した)結晶性アルミナ粉末25部をよく混合した。この混合物に希薄なHNO3酸(粉末全量に対して3重量%のHNO3)及び十分な量の脱イオン水を加えて、押出し成型可能なペーストを形成した。これらの重量は固体100%に基づく。このペーストを、1/16インチのシリンダーで押出し成型して、250°Fで一晩乾燥した。乾燥した押出成型物を、過剰の乾燥空気を送り込みながら1100°Fで1時間焼成し、室温まで冷却した。
触媒Bは、表1のUSY#1と表2のシリカ−アルミナ#2を含む本発明に有用なNiW USY触媒であり、以下の手順によって調製した。USY10部、シリカ−アルミナ粉末65部、及び合成ベーマイトアルミナ粉末25部をよく混合した。この混合物に希薄なHNO3酸(粉末全量に対して3重量%のHNO3)及び十分な量の脱イオン水を加えて、押出し成型可能なペーストを形成させた。これらの重量は固体100%に基づく。このペーストを、1/16インチのシリンダーで押出し成型し、250°Fで一晩乾燥した。乾燥した押出成型物を、過剰の乾燥空気を送り込みながら1100°Fで1時間焼成し、室温まで冷却した。
触媒Cは、USYを含み本発明に有用なNiW触媒であり、触媒Bと類似の手順を用いて調製した。触媒Cについては、表1のUSY#1を3部、表2のシリカ−アルミナ#3を72部、及び合成ベーマイト(pseudoboehmite)アルミナ粉末を25部使用して基本押出成型物を調製した。次に、Ni及びWを例5に記載したように含浸によって装填した。金属の目標装填量、NiO4重量%、WO328重量%であった。触媒Cの物理的特性を表4にまとめて示す。
本発明の触媒(触媒B〜D)を一回通過型のマイクロユニットで参照触媒、すなわち触媒Aと比較した。触媒Aは、表2の均質なシリカ−アルミナ及びAl2O3結合剤を用いて作成し、この基本処方にはゼオライトは加えなかった。触媒B、C、及びDは、完成触媒中に高度に脱アルミニウムされたUSYゼオライトを含む。触媒A、B、及びCは、VI族及びVIII族の卑金属(Ni及びW)を含み、触媒Dは、VIII族貴金属(Pd及びPt)を含む。
本発明の触媒Bを、従来技術の水素化分解法用触媒である触媒Fと再循環型パイロットユニットで比較した。

C4 −ガス、ナフサ、軽質留出油、及び重質留出油といった各成分の収率は、D2887 蒸留シミュレーション(Simdis)の解析結果を用いて計算した。全収率及び反応器温度のデータを表5にまとめて示す。
例7の再循環型パイロットユニット評価の一回通過当たりの転化率を40容量%に変更し、未転化油(700°F+画分)の40重量%を抜き取った。次に、潤滑油のベースストック生産にこの方法が可能性があるか考察するために、製品の特性を評価した。

- 均質シリカ−アルミナ分解成分が、1.0のSB比を有する、請求項14に記載の組成物。
- 触媒が、0.5重量%〜30重量%の超安定Y型ゼオライト、10重量%〜80重量%の無定形分解成分、及び10重量%〜30重量%の結合剤を含む、請求項11に記載の組成物。
- VIII族金属水素化成分が、ニッケル、コバルト、白金、パラジウム、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、VI族金属水素化成分が、モリブデン、タングステン、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項11に記載の組成物。
