Description
従って、本発明の課題は、簡単、安価な構成で電池内圧が常時自動的に調整される内圧調整弁であって電池内圧が急激に上昇して自動調整では対応できずに該調整弁が破壊しても容易に取替えることができる内圧調整機構を備えた非水電解質二次電池を提供することである。
図9の表に示すように、電解液中の水分が約10%(気体換算で62098ml)になると電池容量維持率は80%に低下する。この80%まで低下する日数目標を1000日とすると、1日あたりの水蒸気透過量は62098mlである。一方、電池内生成ガスの透過量は先に述べたように1.5ml以上としたい。電池内外で圧力差がない場合でも外気中の水蒸気が封止部材を透過するように電池内のガスも封止部材を透過して外部に漏出する。両気体の透過量の比は1.5/62=0.024である。図10の表は圧力差が1atmの場合の透過速度であり、圧力差がない場合の透過速度はこの表の値よりもはるかに小さいが、二酸化炭素の透過速度と水蒸気の透過速度の比はこの表と大体同じとして、上の0.024を封止部材の材料選定の基準としたものである。電池内ガスの透過速度が大きくても水蒸気の透過速度が大きいのでは電池内への水蒸気侵入による害が大きくなり好ましくないからである。

Claims (4)
- 正極と、負極と、非水電解質とが電池缶に収納されてなり、該電池缶を二酸化炭素ガスの透過速度と水蒸気ガスの透過速度の比が0.024を超える樹脂或はゴムよりなる封止部材で封止するとともに、該封止部材に電池内部に発生したガスが所定透過速度で透過可能なガス透過部を設けたことを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
- 前記封止部材は外周にテーパねじを有し、電池缶の蓋にテーパねじ穴を設けて該ねじ穴に前記封止部材を螺着するとともに、中央部に、底部が薄肉状のガス透過部を具えた穴が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の非水電解質二次電池。
- 前記封止部材は平板状に形成され、電池缶の蓋に穴を設けて該穴を塞ぐように前記平板状の封止部材を配置し、該封止部材を中央部に電池内部に発生したガスが所定透過速度で透過可能な貫通穴を有する押え部材により電池缶の蓋に固定したことを特徴とする請求項1記載の非水電解質二次電池。
- 前記封止部材はOリングであって、更に該Oリングを保持するOリング保持部材を有し、電池内空間と外部空間とを前記Oリング状の封止部材を介して仕切るように前記Oリング保持部材を電池缶の蓋に固定するとともに、前記Oリング保持部材は突出する雄ねじ部を有し、該雄ねじ部が電池缶蓋のねじ穴に螺合されて締め付けられ、更に前記Oリング保持部材の電池缶蓋との接触面には切欠きが設けられており、一方前記雄ねじ部には第1の穴が設けられ、該第1の穴を前記Oリングの保持溝に連通させる第2の穴が設けられ、電池内部に発生したガスが、前記第1及び第2の穴及びOリング部材を介して前記切欠きから所定透過速度で外部に透過可能であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の非水電解質二次電池。
