Description
前記ねじれ溝の切屑処理に関与する部位が、ドリル軸直角断面視で前記ねじれ溝に沿う第1の円と、その第1の円に内接する第2の円に沿って形成され、第1の円と第2の円は芯厚を表す第3の円に共に外接し、
ドリル径をDとして前記第1の円の半径Rが0.40D〜0.70Dの範囲に、前記第2の円の半径R1が0.15D〜0.30Dの範囲にそれぞれあり、
前記ねじれ溝のドリル回転方向最前部が前記第2の円に沿って形成されてドリル中心(回転中心)と同心で直径が0.65Dの第4の円よりもドリル中心側にあるようにした。
このドリルは、マージン部のリーディングエッジによって形成される外周切れ刃のすくい角(切れ刃の外周部のラジアルレーキγ)を正に設定したものや、正のすくい角を有する外周切れ刃に面取りによる刃先強化処理を施したものが好ましい。
この発明のドリルの性能評価試験を行った。その結果を以下に示す。試験は表1に示すテスト品No.1〜12のドリルを用いて以下の条件で切削を行った。テスト品No.1〜12のドリルは、いずれも直径φ8mm×有効刃長55mm×全長110mmの油穴付きドリルである。
被削材:S50C(ブリネル硬さHB230)
切削条件:切削速度Vc=80m/min、送りf=0.30mm/rev、加工穴深さH=40mm、内部給油
この評価試験では、1)切屑形状(長さと形状)、2)切屑排出性(加工機の主軸負荷電流値)、3)切れ刃外周の損傷(欠損状態)、4)切削抵抗(トルク)の4項目について評価を行った。その結果も表1に併せて示す。
主軸電流値・・・食付き部と穴奥との差 A:5%アップ以下、B:10%アップ以下、C:10%アップ越え
切削抵抗(トルク)・・・数値評価 A:450Ncm以下、B:480Ncm以下、C:450Ncm越え
この試験結果から判るように、この発明のドリル(試料No.3〜5、及び8〜10)は、全ての評価項目において満足できる性能が得られる。
Claims (3)
- ドリル軸端面視で凹曲線をなす切れ刃(3)と、ドリル軸直角断面視の溝広げ角が80°〜110°の範囲に設定されたねじれ溝(4)と、チゼルエッジ(8)の幅を縮めるシンニング溝(5)を有し、
前記ねじれ溝(4)の切屑処理に関与する部位が、ドリル軸直角断面視において前記ねじれ溝(4)に沿う第1の円(S1)とその第1の円(S1)に内接する第2の円(S2)に沿って形成され、前記第1の円(S1)と第2の円(S2)は芯厚を表す第3の円(S3)に共に外接し、ドリル径をDとして前記第1の円(S1)の半径Rが0.40D〜0.70Dの範囲に、前記第2の円(S2)の半径R1が0.15D〜0.30Dの範囲にそれぞれあり、前記ねじれ溝(4)のドリル回転方向最前部(4a)が前記第2の円(S2)上に形成されてドリル中心と同心で直径が0.65Dの第4の円(S4)よりもドリル中心側にあるツイストドリル(1)。 - マージン部(6)とそのマージン部(6)のリーディングエッジによって形成される外周切れ刃(7)を有し、前記外周切れ刃(7)の径方向のすくい角αが正に設定された請求の範囲第1項に記載のツイストドリル(1)。
- 前記外周切れ刃(7)に面取りによる刃先強化処理を施した請求の範囲第2項に記載のツイストドリル(1)。
