Description
図1は、本発明に係るコンピューティング環境の具体例を示す機能ブロック図である。図1に例示的に示されているコンピュータ100などのコンピューティング装置と接続して使用することができる。コンピュータ100のコンポーネントは、限定はされないが、処理装置120とシステムメモリ130及びシステムメモリ130を備えたさまざまなシステムコンポーネントを処理装置120に接続するシステムバス121を備えている。このシステムバス121は、メモリバス又はメモリコントローラと周辺バス及び/又はさまざまなバスアーキテクチャのいずれかを使用するローカルバスを含む、任意のタイプのバス構造を備えている。
図2は、本発明による近接ゾーンの外側のスタイラスを示すタッチセンシティブ装置の具体例の側面図である。図2を参照すると、タッチセンシティブ装置165は、スタイラスセンシティブ部分203及び非スタイラスセンシティブ部分204を含むタッチセンシティブ表面205を有する感知部分202を備えている。スタイラスセンシティブ部分203は、この例において非スタイラスセンシティブ部分204の上部に配置されているように示されているが、それらの相対的な位置は重要ではない。逆であっても、他の相対的配置であってもよい。2つの部分203及び204は、相互に一体化し、物理的に同一部分であってもよい。そのような実施形態において、2つの別個の部分203及び204の表記は、純粋に機能上のものである。物理構成が使用される場合、2つの部分203及び204の蓄積効果は、全体として感知部分202がスタイラス入力及び非スタイラス入力の両方に敏感であるということである。スタイラス入力は、スタイラス166及び感知部分202の間のインタラクションによって行われる。非スタイラス入力は、人間の手、指又は他の体の一部、あるいは他のオブジェクトなど、スタイラス166以外のオブジェクトとの間のインタラクションによって行われる。スタイラス入力及び非スタイラス入力のインタラクションは、接触型又は非接触型であってもよい。たとえば、スタイラス166又は人間の指がタッチセンシティブ表面205に物理的に接触する場合、入力は接触型入力を含むことができる。接触型入力は、タッチセンシティブ表面205上の1つの位置に残っている接触(たとえば、短時間たたく、又はより長時間押さえる)、あるいは、タッチセンシティブ表面205上を横にスライドする接触を含むことができる。非接触型入力は、オブジェクトが実際にタッチセンシティブ表面205に物理的に接触しなくても、オブジェクトの近接性を感知することにより生じる。たとえば、スタイラスセンシティブ部分203は、スタイラス166が実際にタッチセンシティブ表面205と物理的に接触しなくても、タッチセンシティブ表面205にスタイラス166が近接していることを感知することができる(さらに、スタイラスの距離を測定することもできる)。スタイラスが近くにあるが、タッチセンシティブ表面に接触してはいない入力は、一般に、ホバリングと呼ばれる。そのような感知/位置指定技術は周知であり、現在いくつかのタブレットスタイルコンピュータに使用されている。
追加又は代替の因子は、非スタイラス入力が無視されるべきか、又はフィルタ処理されるべきかどうかを判定するために使用することができる。
非スタイラスのユーザー入力は、さらに、タッチセンシティブ表面205上の入力の位置など、他の要因に基づいて無視及び/又は特殊フィルタ処理することができる。
近接ゾーン207の1つ又は複数の境界及び/又はステップ803における時間遅延は、調整手順に従って設定することができる。
以上、タッチセンシティブ装置へのインテリジェントマネージメントについて説明してきた。本明細書において説明された実施形態は本発明のさまざまな態様と共に例示によって示されているが、本発明はこれらの実施形態に限定されないことが理解されよう。たとえば、図5、図8、及び図10の流れ図におけるステップは特定の順序で示されているが、これらの多くのステップの順序は変更することができる。さらに、一部のステップは省略することができる。

Claims (8)
- タッチセンシティブ表面へのスタイラス入力と非スタイラス入力を感受し、該入力を区別する前記表面を有するコンピュータにおける入力方法において、
前記タッチセンシティブ表面への前記非スタイラス入力を検出するステップと、
スタイラスが、前記タッチセンシティブ表面からしきい値距離の範囲内にあるか否か検出するステップと、
前記スタイラスが、前記タッチセンシティブ表面から前記しきい値距離の範囲内にないとき、前記非スタイラス入力が、前記タッチセンシティブ表面への前記非スタイラス入力の第1のしきい値圧力を超えているとき、および前記非スタイラス入力が、予め格納された形状との一致を判定したとき、前記タッチセンシティブ表面への前記非スタイラス入力を受け入れるステップと、
前記スタイラスが、前記タッチセンシティブ表面から前記しきい値距離の範囲内にあるとき、前記非スタイラス入力が、前記タッチセンシティブ表面への前記非スタイラス入力の第2のしきい値圧力を超えているとき、および前記非スタイラス入力が、予め格納された形状との一致を判定したとき、前記タッチセンシティブ表面への前記非スタイラス入力を受け入れるステップとを備え、
前記第2のしきい値圧力は、前記第1のしきい値圧力より大きいことを特徴とする入力方法。 - 前記スタイラス入力は、前記タッチセンシティブ表面上を前記スタイラスが移動することであり、前記非スタイラス入力は、前記タッチセンシティブ表面に接触する非スタイラスオブジェクトの移動であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力方法。
- 前記タッチセンシティブ表面は、前記スタイラスの感知部分と前記非スタイラスオブジェクトの感知部分とが積層されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力方法。
- 前記スタイラス入力は、前記タッチセンシティブ表面をスタイラスで軽くたたくことであり、前記非スタイラス入力は、前記タッチセンシティブ表面を非スタイラスオブジェクトで軽くたたくことであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力方法。
- 前記非スタイラス入力を受け入れると、前記タッチセンシティブ表面を含むディスプレイに表示された表示オブジェクトが選択されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の入力方法。
- 前記スタイラスが、前記タッチセンシティブ表面から前記しきい値距離の範囲内にないとき、さらに、前記スタイラスが、前記タッチセンシティブ表面から前記しきい値距離の範囲外になったときからあらかじめ決められた時間が経過した場合に限り、前記非スタイラス入力を受け入れることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力方法。
- 特定の方法で前記スタイラスを握るようユーザーに要求するユーザーインターフェースを提供するステップと、
前記タッチセンシティブ表面からの前記スタイラスの距離を測定するステップと、
前記測定された距離に従って前記しきい値距離を設定するステップと
をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力方法。 - 請求項1に記載のコンピュータにおいて実行された場合、請求項1に記載の方法を実行させるコンピュータ実行可能命令を格納することを特徴とするコンピュータ読み取り可能な媒体。
