Description
本発明は、一般にポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)ポリマーの水中造粒及びその後の乾燥の方法及び装置に関する。さらに詳しくは、本発明は、PET粒子の結晶化工程を自己開始し、非晶構造よりも結晶構造を所望レベル有するペレットを製造する、PETポリマーの水中造粒及びPETポリマーペレットの乾燥の方法及び装置に関する
第1実験装置
ガラ水中ペレタイザーモデル番号A5PAC6とガラモデル12.2ECLNBF遠心乾燥機を使用した図1に示すような総合的水中造粒システムにより、図3に示す配置で、溶解PETポリマーを連続的に押し出した。溶解温度は約265℃であり、造粒機102のカッターブレード速度は2500から4500RPMの間で変化させた。ダイプレートはPETポリマー用であり、細長いランド(land)を有する典型的な3.5mmダイプレートを使用した。実験中のダイホールを通る溶融速度は一定で、40kg/孔/時とした。
ガラ水中ペレタイザーモデル番号A5PAC6とガラモデル12.2ECLNBF遠心乾燥機を使用した図1に示すような総合的水中造粒システムにより、図3に示す配置で、溶解PETポリマーを連続的に押し出した。溶解温度は約265℃であり、造粒機102のカッターブレード速度は2500から4500RPMの間で変化させた。ダイプレートはPETポリマー用とした。異なるペレットサイズでも動作できるようにするために、ダイホール径と大ホール速度はカッター速度とともに変化させた。
Claims (20)
- PETポリマーを結晶質PETペレットに加工する方法であって、
PETポリマーのストランドをダイホール(18)に通して水中造粒機(12,102)に押し出し、
前記水中造粒機内で前記PETポリマーのストランドをペレットに切断し、
前記PETポリマーを水とペレットのスラリーとして前記水中造粒機から乾燥機(32,108)に搬送し、
前記ペレットを前記乾燥機内で乾燥する方法において、
前記PETペレットを搬送する工程は、高速不活性ガスを少なくとも100m3/時の流量で前記水とペレットのスラリーに注入して前記水を水蒸気ミストに変換し、前記ペレットを125℃の平均温度で前記乾燥機を流出させ、前記PETペレットに十分な内部熱を保有させ、前記ペレットを自己結晶化させる工程を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記乾燥機を出たPETペレットは、振動装置(84)による運動を維持し、その間に前記PETペレットは自己結晶化を継続することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記高速不活性ガスを前記水とペレットのスラリーに注入することにより、前記PETペレットの乾燥機への速度及び乾燥機を通る速度を増加することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記PETペレットは135℃以上の平均温度で前記乾燥機を出ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ガスは少なくとも175m3/時の速度で前記水とペレットのスラリーに注入することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ガスは8バールの圧力で1.5インチのスラリーラインパイプに注入することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ガスは前記スラリーの動線と一致するように前記水とペレットのスラリーに注入する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記スラリーの動線は30°と60°の間の角度で曲がる曲がりを有し、前記ガスは前記曲がりで注入することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記スラリーラインにおける前記ペレットの滞留時間は前記空気注入の下流側でボール弁(150)により調整することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- PETポリマーを自己結晶化ペレットに加工する装置であって、
押し出されたPETポリマーストランドをペレットに切断する水中造粒機(12,102)と、
水を前記造粒機に導入する配管(26,104)と、
前記造粒機から出た水とペレットのスラリーを、前記ペレットから水を分離する乾燥機(32,108)に輸送するスラリーライン(28,30,108,106)とを含む装置において、
注入器(120)により、高速不活性ガスを少なくとも100m3/時の流量で前記水とPETペレットのスラリーライン(116)に導入して前記水を水蒸気ミストに変換し、前記ペレットを125℃の平均温度で前記乾燥機を流出させ、前記PETペレットに前記ペレットを自己結晶化するのに十分な内部熱を保有させることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記注入される高速不活性ガスは前記装置を通過する前記PETペレットの速度を増加することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記注入される高速不活性ガスは少なくとも175m3/時の流量であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記乾燥機(32,108)は遠心乾燥機であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記造粒機の後方に位置する造粒機後方装置(84)は前記乾燥機の出口(34)からペレットを受けてさらなる結晶化を行うことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記造粒機後方装置(84)は前記ペレットを結晶化中に移動状態に維持する振動装置であることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記造粒機後方装置(84)は断熱容器であることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記スラリーラインの一部は直線で、30°から60°の角度で上方に傾斜していることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記スラリーラインは直線部(116)を有し、前記ガス注入器(120)は前記直線部の始端で前記不活性ガスを導入し、前記装置内で前記ペレットの滞留時間を調整するのに役立つボール弁を有することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記ガス注入器(120)は前記不活性ガスを8バールの圧力で1.5インチのスラリーラインパイプに前記水とペレットのスラリーに導入することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記ガス注入器(120)の下流のボール弁(150)は、前記装置における前記PETペレットの滞留時間を調整することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
