Description
実施例1では、現像剤を構成するトナーの平均体積粒径、凝集物の添加量を変えて調製された現像剤を用いて連続通紙印刷の試験を行った。この試験には、図1に示された画像形成装置を用いた。ただし、本発明の効果をより確認しやすくするために、画像形成ユニット34のみを使用し、画像形成ユニット31〜33は画像形成装置から抜いて試験を行った。なお、本発明では、一般的に現像剤に用いられる様々な種類・色目の着色剤が使用できるため、画像形成ユニット31〜34の全てを装着しても同様の効果が得られる。
実施例2では、現像剤の凝集度を変えて調製された現像剤を用いて試験を行った。この試験には、実施例1と同様に図1に示された画像形成ユニット34のみを使用し、画像形成装置の印刷速度を274mm/sに設定した。そして、A4サイズ標準紙が縦方向となるように画像形成装置の搬送路を搬送させた。この試験でA4サイズ標準紙に100%dutyのベタ画像を、連続通紙印刷により100枚形成し、1枚目、50枚目及び100枚目の印刷濃度を測定した。なお、下記実施例の現像剤は、トナーの体積平均粒径が3.9μm以上6.1μm以下、現像剤を構成する凝集物の粒径が75μm以上100μm以下、現像剤中の凝集物の比率が0.01wt%以上0.10wt%以下を満たすものである。
実施例3では、現像ローラ104に当接する現像ブレード107の曲げRと、現像ブレード107の厚さとを変えて、現像ローラ104に形成される現像剤層の単位面積あたりの現像剤付着量を変えて、残像について評価した。

Claims (10)
- 少なくとも結着樹脂を含有する母粒子の表面に無機微粉体からなる外添剤が添加されるトナーと、
前記トナーの体積平均粒径よりも大きく、外添剤が凝集することにより形成された凝集物とを有する現像剤であって、
前記トナーの体積平均粒径が3.9μm以上6.1μm以下であり、
前記凝集物の大きさが75μm以上100μm以下であり、
現像剤全体に対する前記凝集物の量が0.01wt%以上0.10wt%以下であることを特徴とする現像剤。 - 前記トナーの体積平均粒径は3.9μm以上5.0μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の現像剤。
- 前記凝集物は、開き目100μmのメッシュを通過し、開き目75μmのメッシュ上に残存するものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の現像剤。
- 現像剤全体の凝集度が40.3%以上69.1%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の現像剤。
- 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の現像剤を備えることを特徴とする現像剤収容体。
- 請求項5記載の現像剤収容体と、
前記現像剤収容体に備えられた前記現像剤を担持する現像剤担持体と、
前記現像剤担持体に前記現像剤を供給する現像剤供給体と、
前記現像剤供給体によって供給された前記現像剤により現像剤層を形成する現像剤層形成部材とを有することを特徴とする現像装置。 - 前記現像剤層は、前記現像剤担持体上に0.30mg/cm2以上0.58mg/cm2以下の現像剤量であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の現像装置。
- 前記現像剤層は、前記現像剤担持体上に0.30mg/cm2以上0.52mg/cm2以下の現像剤量であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の現像装置。
- 請求項6乃至請求項8のいずれか1項に記載の現像装置を搭載することを特徴とする画像形成ユニット。
- 請求項9に記載の画像形成ユニットを搭載する画像形成装置。
