Description
また、各吐出機会におけるデューティの値が大きいほどその値が大きくなるパラメータの値の積算値は、液体吐出ヘッドにおける液体の減少の程度に対応したものとなるため、この積算値が所定のしきい値を超えたか否かによって待機時間を設けるか否かを決定することにより、待機時間を設けるか否かの決定を容易に行うことができる。
また、後の吐出機会におけるデューティの値ほど、液体吐出ヘッド内の液体が少なくなっているか否かと大きな関連があるため、パラメータの値を積算する際に、先の吐出機会に比べて、後の液体吐出動作ほど、その吐出機会におけるデューティの値に対応するパラメータの値に対して大きな重み付けを行うことにより、積算値を、さらに正確に、液体吐出ヘッドにおける液体の減少の程度に対応したものとすることができる。

Claims (5)
- 複数のノズルから液体を吐出する液体吐出ヘッドと、
前記複数のノズルから液体を吐出させる液体吐出動作を繰り返し行わせるように前記液体吐出ヘッドを制御する制御手段と、
ある吐出機会における、前記液体吐出ヘッドからの最大の液体吐出量に対する実際に吐出された液体吐出量の割合であるデューティの値を検出するデューティ検出手段と、
各吐出機会の後に待機時間を設けるか否か、をそれぞれ決定する待機時間決定手段とを備えており、
前記待機時間決定手段は、前記デューティ検出手段により検出された、直前の吐出機会を含む連続する2回以上の過去の吐出機会におけるデューティの値に基づいて、検出されたデューティの値が大きいほどその値が大きくなる所定のパラメータの値を吐出機会ごとに決定するとともに、直前の吐出機会を含む連続する2回以上の過去の吐出機会における各パラメータの値を、先の吐出機会に比べて、後の吐出機会ほど、その吐出機会におけるデューティの値に対応するパラメータの値に対して大きな重み付けをして積算した値が所定のしきい値を越えているときに前記待機時間を設けることを決定し、
前記制御手段は、前記待機時間決定手段により前記待機時間を設けることが決定された場合に、直前の吐出機会の後に、前記液体吐出ヘッドを待機させることを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 前記制御手段により制御されるものであり、前記液体吐出ヘッドを所定の走査方向に移動させる移動手段をさらに備えており、
前記制御手段は、
各吐出機会において、前記移動手段により前記液体吐出ヘッドを前記走査方向に所定距離移動させながら、前記複数のノズルから液体を吐出させる動作を行わせるように、前記液体吐出ヘッド及び前記移動手段を制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 液体の温度を検出する温度検出手段と、
前記しきい値を決定するしきい値決定手段とをさらに備えており、
前記しきい値決定手段は、前記温度検出手段により検出された温度が低いときほど、その値が小さくなるように前記しきい値を決定することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記待機時間決定手段は、
前記待機時間を設けるか否かを決定するのに加えて、前記待機時間を設ける場合に前記待機時間の長さを決定することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 液体の温度を検出する温度検出手段をさらに備えており、
前記待機時間決定手段は、前記温度検出手段により検出された温度が低いときほど、その長さが長くなるように、前記待機時間の長さを決定することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液体吐出装置。
