Description
<インクジェット印刷装置の全体構成>
本発明の実施例1では、用紙の搬送方向と直交する方向(主走査方向)に配列されたインクジェットヘッドを有し、搬送経路上で搬送された用紙に対して、画像データに基づいてインクジェットヘッドのノズルからインクを吐出して印刷するライン型のインクジェット印刷装置を例に挙げて説明する。
次に、本発明の実施例1であるインクジェット印刷装置1の機能構成について説明する。
次に、影響度算出部81aは、ステップS180において算出された影響度Eが、影響度閾値Eth以上か否かを判定する(S190)。
本発明の実施例1では、取得したギャップ影響度Egと、温度影響度Etと、画像位置影響度Elとに基づいて、影響度Eを算出するインクジェット印刷装置1を例に挙げて説明した。
図14は、本発明の実施例2であるインクジェット印刷装置1のCPU81により算出された影響度Eの算出例を示した図である。

Claims (5)
- インクを吐出する複数のノズル列が平行に配列されたインクジェットヘッドを有し、前記インクジェットヘッドと用紙とを相対移動しながら前記複数のノズル列のうち選択されたノズル列からインクを吐出することにより、解像度を切り替えて前記用紙に印刷するインクジェット印刷装置であって、
印刷条件に基づいて、サテライト発生の影響の度合いを示す影響度を算出する影響度算出手段と、
前記影響度算出手段により算出された影響度が所定の閾値を越えた場合に、前記印刷される用紙における画素列毎に、前記複数のノズル列のうち一部のノズル列において1列毎に順に吐出させるように前記インクジェットヘッドの吐出タイミングを制御する制御手段と、
を備えたことを特徴とするインクジェット印刷装置。 - 前記影響度算出手段は、
サテライト発生による画像劣化の影響が大きい画像の有無又は画像位置に基づいて、サテライト発生の影響の度合いを示す影響度を算出する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のインクジェット印刷装置。 - 前記インクジェットヘッドは、
前記ノズルに連通するインク室を有し、供給された駆動信号に基づいて前記インク室の容積を変更することにより前記ノズルからインクを吐出し、
前記制御手段は、
前記ノズルから吐出される主たるインク滴に付随するインク量を少なくするような駆動波形の前記駆動信号を前記インクジェットヘッドに供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載のインクジェット印刷装置。 - 前記制御手段は、
前記インクジェットヘッドと前記用紙を搬送する搬送手段との間隔に応じて、前記ノズルから吐出される主たるインク滴に付随するインク量を少なくするような駆動波形の前記駆動信号を前記インクジェットヘッドに供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載のインクジェット印刷装置。 - 前記制御手段は、
前記インクジェットヘッドの前記複数のノズル列のうち、吐出するノズル列以外のノズル列からインクが吐出しない程度の前記駆動信号を供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載のインクジェット印刷装置。
