HLB=20(1−S/A)
(ここでSは鹸化価であり、Aは酸価である)で定義される。HLB値は、当業界で周知の方法により室温で測定される。
油中水エマルジョンを安定化する界面活性剤の効率の測定
種々の界面活性剤の油中水エマルジョンを安定化する能力を調べるために、実験用容器を組み立てた。実験用容器は、炭化水素加工で遭遇する代表的な条件を再現した適切な温度及び圧力条件下で実験を行うことを可能にするパイプ構成であった。実験用容器には、エマルジョンを発生するためのブレンダーブレードを含むベースと、プロセス流体の少量部分を顕微鏡検査のために取り出すことを可能にする頂部の貫通口とを設けた。微粒化ノズルで流体が受ける剪断状態を、ブレンダーブレードが生成する乱流によりシミュレートした。速度制御されたモータシステムを用いてこの乱流を制御した。サンプル容器の頂部には、圧力トランスジューサ、内部温度トランスジューサ及び(システム全体の温度を下げることなく少量のサンプルを取り出すことを可能にする)浸漬チューブシステムのための仕組みを設けた。

Claims (10)
- 流動接触分解用の微粒化効率の高い原料エマルジョン組成物の製造方法であって、
(a)水源を用意する工程と、
(b)炭化水素油源を用意する工程と、
(c)HLB値が12より大きい非イオン性界面活性剤を用意する工程と、
(d)スプレーノズルの供給側で成分(a)、(b)及び(c)を200〜500°F(93〜260℃)より高い温度及び該温度での水蒸気圧より高い圧力条件で混合することによって成分(a)、(b)及び(c)を合流させて、炭化水素油相中に均一に分散した水滴を含む炭化水素油中水エマルジョンを形成する工程と
を含む方法。 - 合流工程が、まず前記界面活性剤を水と混合して界面活性剤液を形成し、次いで界面活性剤液を炭化水素油と混合して前記エマルジョンを形成することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 成分(a)、(b)及び(c)をスプレーノズルの供給側で合流させ、次いで前記スプレーノズルに通して制御された炭化水素液滴寸法と分布を生成させる、請求項1又は請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記非イオン性界面活性剤のHLB値が15〜16である、請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記水滴の直径が5〜10μmである、請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記非イオン性界面活性剤がエトキシル化アルキルフェノール、エチレンオキサイド−プロピレンオキサイドブロック共重合体、アルコール重合体、アミン重合体、部分フッ素化鎖炭化水素及びこれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 水が全原料エマルジョン組成物の3〜15体積%の量で存在する、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 炭化水素油が全原料エマルジョン組成物の84〜97体積%の量で存在する、請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記非イオン性界面活性剤が全原料エマルジョン組成物の10ppm〜1体積%の量で存在する、請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記非イオン性界面活性剤が全原料エマルジョン組成物の500ppm〜1体積%の量で存在する、請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか1項記載の方法。
