Description
競技活動中の着用のために設計した衣料製品は、一般的に個人(着用者)の快適性や機能改善の特性を示す。例えば、衣料品は比較的ぴったりした装着感を提供する弾性織物を組み込み、それにより風の抵抗を最小にするロー・プロファイル(縮小輪郭)を着用者に付与することが可能である。また、衣料品は皮膚の近くに溜まる汗の量を減らすために、着用者から湿気を逃がす織物で作ることができる。さらに、衣料品は特定の環境所条件のために特別に選定された材料を組み込むことができる。衣料製品の様々なタイプの例として、シャツ、被り物、コート、ジャケット、ズボン、下着、手袋、靴下、および履物が挙げられる。
織物は、同様にインターループを形成できる。いくつかの実施形態において、糸は織物の開口部を区画する。開口部は、糸が物理的刺激にさらされていないときに第一面積を示し、糸が物理的刺激にさらされたときに第二面積を示し、それにより織物の通過性に影響を与えることができる。その他の実施形態では、織物の構造は物理的刺激にさらされていないときに第一の肌理を示し、物理的刺激にさらされたときに第二の肌理を示すことができる。第一の肌理は、例えば第二の肌理よりも滑らかであり、第二の肌理は織物の表面から外側に延びる複数の節点を含んでいてもよい。

I.織物構造例
衣料製品10が、通例の半袖シャツの一般的構成を持っているとして図1に示されている。しかし、当業者は、以下の資料に開示した様々な織物は、例えば長袖シャツ、被り物、コート、ジャケット、ズボン、下着、手袋、靴下、および履物を含む様々な形状を示す衣料製品に組み込むことができることを認識するであろう。したがって、衣料品10に関する以下の議論および添付の図面に開示する様々な概念は、色々な衣料構成に関して利用することができる。
第一織物構造
衣料品10に適した織物20の部分を図2および3に示す。織物20は複数の横糸21および複数の縦糸22を含む、織り合わせ材料の構造を持つ。したがって、織物20は、糸21と糸22とが互いに実質的に直角に交差し織り合わされることを含む、織り合わせ工程を経て、糸22および22の機械的操作によって形成されてもよい。糸21と糸22とを互いに実質的に直角に交差し織り合わせる工程により、様々な糸21と糸22との間にある多数の分離した開口部が形成される。
第二織物構造
織物20に関して、糸21および22は、物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料で、少なくとも部分的に形成される。しかし、いくつかの実施形態において、物理的刺激の存在下でかなりの程度まで寸法変化しない材料で、様々な糸をそっくり形成してもよい。すなわち、衣料品10の織物を形成するいくつかの糸は、物理的刺激に大きく影響されない、寸法安定性を有する糸で形成されていてもよい。
第三織物構造
衣料品10の少なくとも一部を形成する織物に対して別の可能な構成が、図6および図7に開示されており、その中では複数の横糸41および複数の縦糸42により開口部43が区画されている。横糸41が物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料で形成され、一方縦糸42は物理的刺激により大きく影響されない寸法安定性を有する糸で形成されている。したがって、横糸は物理的刺激に対してさらされた場合、実質的に寸法は変化しない。
第四織物構造
織物20、30、および40の構成は、着用者を特定の環境条件から保護するか、または隔離するために利用できる。前述のように、様々な糸の寸法変化により、糸間の開口部の面積減少が引き起こされる。面積の減少により織物20、30、および40の通過性が減少し、それにより衣料品10に侵入する雨、日光、または風の量がより少なくなる。しかし、場合によっては、衣料品10を形成する織物の通過性の増加が望ましいであろう。例えば、通過性を増加することは、衣料品10を形成する織物を通過して流れる空気を増加させるために利用でき、それにより着用者からの汗の蒸散が増加する。
ここで、織物50の性質に影響する物理的刺激に対して織物50をさらす方法を論じる。図8を参照して、織物50が未暴露状態で描かれ、糸51、52aおよび52bは物理的刺激にさらされていない。しかし、図9を参照すると、織物50が暴露状態で描かれ、糸51、52aおよび52bは物理的刺激にさらされている。未暴露状態では、糸51,52aおよび52bは比較的太さが小さく、各々の開口部53の面積は、比較的小さい。しかし、暴露状態では、縦糸52aはより大きな太さおよびより大きな波打ち度合いを示し、それは各々の開口部53の面積を増加させる。すなわち、糸51、52aおよび52bを物理的刺激にさらすと、太さおよび波打ち度合いが増加し、それにより各々の開口部53の面積が増大し、織物50の構造を改変させる。
第五織物構造

第六織物構造
織物を形成する様々な糸の間の開口部面積を増加または減少することは、織物の性質(すなわち、通過性)を変えるために織物の構造を改変できる1つの方法である。いくつかの実施形態において、織物の性質を変えるために織物の肌理もまた改変できる。図12ないし図15を参照すると、織物70が開示されている。織物70はインターループ工程によって糸71および糸72で形成される。以下により詳細に記載されるように、織物70の肌理は比較的滑らかな状態から、織物70と着用者との間を分離する複数の節点73がある状態まで変わる。節点73により、織物70が着用者から効果的に離れて保持され、着用者と織物70との間に空気が流れることを可能にし、それにより汗の除去が増加する。織物70を形成するために、糸71および72は丸編み工程によって機械的に操作され、例えば、ジャージー・ニットまたはダブルニット・ピケの構造を有する織物70を形成する。いくつかの実施形態において、3本以上の糸が織物70を形成するために利用でき、ジャージー・ニットおよびダブルニット・ピケの構造に加えて、その他の様々なニット構造が利用できる。

発明の背景の節で論じたように、一般的に織物は2つの区分に分類される。第一の区分には、不織布のファブリックおよびフェルトを構築するために結合、融合、またはインターロックしたファイバーまたはフィラメントのウェブから直接作製された織物が挙げられる。第二の区分には糸の機械的操作によって作った織物が挙げられる。織物20、30、40、50、60、および70は、それぞれ糸の機械的操作によって形成されており、したがって、第二の区分に入る。しかし、本発明に関連する概念は不織布にもあてはまる。
第八の織物構造
織物70および80の各々は、寸法が安定した材料(すなわち、糸72およびフィラメント82)が、一方表面に隣接して集中していて、物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料(すなわち、糸71およびフィラメント81)が反対表面に隣接して集中している構成を示す。この概略構成が実現できる別の方法が図17に開示されており、この中で織物90には、スペーサメッシュ材料の一方表面の中に編み組みされる糸91が含まれる。より詳細には、スペーサメッシュ材料には、離れて配置され、複数の接続糸94で接続されている第一層92および第二層93が含まれる。物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化がある糸91は第一層92の中に織り込まれるか、または編み組みされる。糸91は物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料で形成され、一方、第一層92、第二層93および接続糸94の各々は寸法安定性を有する材料で形成できる。
第九の織物構造
上で論じられた様々な織物構造において、織物に組み込まれたファイバー、フィラメント、または糸は、物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する構成を持つ。ファイバー、フィラメントまたは糸の上のコーティングは、物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料として利用できる。図18を参照して、糸101および糸102を含む織物100が開示されている。糸101および糸102は寸法安定性を有する材料で形成されている。しかし、糸102と対照的に、糸101には物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化があるコーティング103が含まれる。図18および図19に、未暴露状態にある(すなわち、糸101およびコーティング103は物理的刺激にさらされない)糸101およびコーティング103を描いている。未暴露状態では、糸102、および糸101とコーティング103との組み合わせは同じような直径を持つ。図20に、暴露状態にある糸101およびコーティング103が描かれ、コーティング103の全体的直径は著しく増加する。したがって、織物100を物理的刺激にさらすことにより、糸101とコーティング103との組み合わせに寸法変化が引き起こされる。
織物構造の要約
前記の議論に基づいて、様々な織物が物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化するファイバー、フィラメントまたは糸で形成できる。糸の寸法変化により、織物の構造が改変され、それにより織物の性質の変化が誘起される。糸に選択される材料に依存して、例えば、水または織物の温度変化が物理的刺激として利用できる。衣料製品の中に組み込まれた場合、物理的刺激にさらされたときの織物の性質の変化は、例えば、特定の環境条件から着用者を隔離するため、または着用者の発汗レベルの変化に適応させるために利用できる。したがって、本発明は衣料品を着用した個人の快適性を高めるために効果的に適応する織物に関する。
II.改変された織物構造の例
前記資料では、織物の性質を変えるために物理的刺激により改変する構造がある様々な織物が開示された。ここで、これらのまたはその他の織物の構造を改変できる様々な方法を論じる。例えば、耐伸縮性を付与するための材料が織物構造に結合でき、切開部または部分的切開部を織物構造に形成でき、コーティングを物理的刺激の影響を阻止するために塗布できる。
第一の改変織物構造
前記の織物構造の各々は、主として様々なフィラメント、ファイバーまたは糸で形成されている。フィラメント、ファイバーまたは糸を形成する特定の材料によって、上に開示した様々な織物がかなりの伸張特性を示すようにすることができる。すなわち、織物は引っ張り力を受けたときに大きく変形できる。織物における伸張を制限するために、より大きな耐伸縮性がある様々な材料を織物に結合でき、または固定できる。
第二の改変織物構造
上に開示した織物構造のどれかを改変する別の方法は、切開部の形成に関する。図25に、第六織物構造(図12〜図15参照)に関連して上に開示したような実質的に織物70で形成した衣料製品10’’が描かれている。複数の半円形切開部74が織物70を通って延び、したがって、糸71および72の各々を通って延びている。図26を参照して、切開部74がある織物70の部分が未暴露状態で描かれ、糸71および72(図12および図14参照)は物理的刺激にさらされていない。しかし、図27を参照して、織物70は暴露状態で描かれ、糸71および72は物理的刺激にさらされている。未暴露状態では、織物70は比較的平坦になっていて、切開部74で形成されたフラップは閉じた構成になっている。しかし、暴露状態では、切開部74で形成されたフラップは上向きにカールし、織物70の中に開口部を形成し、それにより織物70の構造および性質が改変される。
第三の改変織物構造(本願発明によらない参考例)
織物70、80、および90の各々は、物理的刺激にさらされたときに寸法変化する材料が織物構造の一方の表面に集中されている構成を示す。切開部74に類似の切開部は上で論じた織物構造のどれにおいても形成できる。切開部74を形成するためにカットするとき、織物70は物理的刺激にさらされるまで平坦な構成にとどまる。しかしいくつかの織物構造は、カットしかつ物理的刺激にさらさない場合でも、カールする場合がある。
第四の改変織物構造
切開部74および124は、それぞれ織物70および120全体に延びている。しかし、いくつかの状況においては、織物構造に部分的にだけ延びる切開部が有益であろう。図31に、織物130に部分的にだけ延びる複数の部分的切開部134を含む織物130を描いている。図32Aを参照して、織物130が、部分的切開部134が延びている層131および別の層132を含んでいるとして模式的に描かれている。層131および層132は、第六〜八織物構造(図12〜図17参照)の織物70、80、および90の大略的構成を模式的に表わしており、物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料が1つの表面に隣接して集中され、反対の表面に隣接して寸法安定性を有する材料が集中している。
第五の改変織物構造(本願発明によらない参考例)
織物における部分的切開部の形成は、物理的刺激の存在下で織物の寸法変化を阻止するかまたは非活性化する1つの方法である。ファイバー、フィラメント、または糸のコーティングもまた、物理的刺激による材料の寸法変化の誘起を阻止するために利用できる。図33を参照して、糸141および142を含む織物140が開示されている。糸141および142は物理的刺激の存在下で寸法変化する材料で形成される。しかし、糸141と対照的に、糸142は、糸142を物理的刺激から遮断するコーティング143を含む。図34には未暴露状態にある糸141および142が描かれ、糸141および142は類似した直径を持つ。図35には、暴露状態にある糸141および142が描かれ、糸141の全体的直径は糸142の直径よりも著しく大きい。したがって、織物140を物理的刺激にさらすと、糸141に寸法変化を誘起するが、コーティング143により糸142の寸法変化が防止されるか、または制限される。
改変織物構造の要約
補強構造、切開部、部分的切開部、およびコーティングは、上に開示したいずれの織物構造の改変および改善にも利用できる。補強構造、切開部、部分的切開部およびコーティングの様々な組み合わせもまた、上に開示したいずれの織物構造の改変および改善にも利用できる。例えば、切開部または部分的切開部が、補強構造によって規定された開口部の中に形成できる。加えて、コーティングが切開部のある領域の反応に影響を与えるために利用できる。
Claims (7)
- ファイバー、フィラメント、または糸から製造された製造物であって、
水にさらされたときに第一度合いの寸法変化をする第一の材料であって、水にさらされていないときに第一の寸法セットを有し、水にさらされたときに第二の寸法セットを有し、当該製造物の第一の表面に集中している第一の材料と、
水にさらされたときに第二度合いの寸法変化をする第二の材料であって、寸法変化の前記第二度合いは寸法変化の前記第一度合いよりも小さく、当該製造物の第二の表面に集中している第二の材料と、
当該製造物を通って、前記第一の表面から前記第二の表面に延びる複数の切開部と
を含み、
前記切開部に隣接した当該製造物の部分が、水にさらされたときに当該製造物に開口部を形成する製造物。 - 前記第一の材料が、吸水性のフィラメントおよびフィラメントより短いファイバーのうちの少なくとも1つである、請求項1に記載の製造物。
- 前記第一の材料が吸水性の糸である、請求項1に記載の製造物。
- 前記切開部の少なくとも一部が非直線状である、請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の製造物。
- 前記切開部が、レーザーカッティング処理および編み処理のうちの1つにより形成されている、請求項1ないし4のいずれか1項に記載の製造物。
- 前記第二の材料が、前記第一の材料の少なくとも一部の周囲に延びるコーティングであって、水に前記第一の材料をさらすことを制限するコーティングである、請求項1ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の製造物。
- 当該製造物が衣料製品に組み込まれたものである、請求項1ないし6のいずれか1項に記載の製造物。
