Description
図2は、図1のA領域を拡大図示した拡大図である。
図3は、図1に示すFFS液晶表示装置の断面図である。
従来のFFSは、図1ないし図3に示すように、第1のITO電極102と重なる第2のITO電極104の形状を櫛型に製作し、液晶配向を0°に位置させることにより、電界による液晶の捩じれが上側と下側とが逆方向にし、液晶の誘電率異方性による青みがかった、または、黄味を帯びるカラーシフト(色の変化)を補償する。
図4は、本発明の第1実施の形態に係るFFS液晶表示装置を示す平面図である。
図5は、図4のB領域を拡大図示した拡大図である。
図6は、図4に示すFFS液晶表示装置の断面図である。

Claims (3)
- 相互所定距離を隔てて配置される上部および下部基板、
所定領域を除いた前記上部基板の上部に形成される導電性ブラックマトリックス、
前記下部基板の上部に形成される共通電極、
前記共通電極の上部に形成されるゲート絶縁膜、および
前記ゲート絶縁膜の上部に形成され、電圧印加により前記導電性ブラックマトリックス
および前記共通電極と共に所定方向の角度を有する電界を形成して、前記導電性ブラックマトリックスおよび前記共通電極との間に1−ドメインおよび2−ドメイン中の1つを形成する歯形の縁部を有する画素電極を含み、前記縁部は基板面を見下ろす前記導電性ブラックマトリックスの外側に配置され、
前記共通電極は前記導電性ブラックマトリックスの内部に位置し、
x:y:zの比率が1:1:1であり、
ここで、xは前記歯形の縁部の前記歯形の先端と前記導電性ブラックマトリックスとの平面視における距離であり、yは前記画素電極の歯元から歯の先端までの歯丈であり、zは前記画素電極の前記歯元と櫛型の切り込み部の端との平面視における距離であることを特徴とするフリンジフィールド駆動モード液晶表示装置。 - 前記導電性ブラックマトリックスは、歯形の縁部を有することを特徴とする請求項1記
載のフリンジフィールド駆動モード液晶表示装置。 - 相互所定距離を隔てて配置される上部および下部基板、
所定領域を除いた前記上部基板の上部に形成される導電性ブラックマトリックス、
前記下部基板の上部に形成される共通電極、
前記共通電極の上部に形成されるゲート絶縁膜、および
前記ゲート絶縁膜の上部に形成され、電圧印加により前記導電性ブラックマトリックス
および前記共通電極と共に所定方向の角度を有する電界を形成して、前記導電性ブラックマトリックスおよび前記共通電極との間に1−ドメインおよび2−ドメイン中の1つを形成する歯形の縁部を有する画素電極を含み、前記縁部は基板面を見下ろす前記導電性ブラックマトリックスの外側に配置され、
前記共通電極は前記導電性ブラックマトリックスの外部に位置し、
x:y:zの比率が1:2:2であり、
ここで、xは前記歯形の縁部の前記歯形の先端と前記導電性ブラックマトリックスとの平面視における距離であり、yは前記画素電極の歯元から歯の先端までの歯丈であり、zは前記画素電極の前記歯元と櫛型の切り込み部の端との平面視における距離であることを特徴とするフリンジフィールド駆動モード液晶表示装置。
