Abstract

一种边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置,其为降低黑底的电阻使用导电性材料,形成像素电极和电场使周边部液晶动作,使楔部不产生倾倒线,在黑底区域施加共用电场形成像素电极和电场,使数据传输线和像素电极之间的液晶动作,从而提高像素电极的液晶偏振光效率。其上部衬底和下部衬底相互间隔规定距离配置;在除去规定区域的上部衬底的上部形成导电性黑底;在下部衬底的上部形成共用电极;在共用电极的上部形成门绝缘膜;像素电极通过施加电压与上述导电性黑底以及上述共用电极一起形成具有规定方向的角度的电场穿过液晶,具有在与上述导电性黑底以及上述共用电极之间形成1-区域和2-区域中一个齿形的边缘部。

Description

边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置
技术领域
本发明涉及液晶显示装置,更详细地说涉及利用在黑底和共用电极以及像素电极上施加的电场,提高液晶偏振光效率的边缘场驱动模式(FringeField Switching;以下称为FFS)液晶显示装置。
背景技术
图1是表示现在的FFS液晶显示装置的俯视图;图2是图1的A区域的放大图;图3是图1所示的FFS液晶显示装置的剖面图。
现有的FFS如图1~图3所示,把与第一ITO电极102重叠的第二ITO电极104的形状制成梳形、使液晶取向定位为零度,这样,使由施加电场造成液晶的扭曲成为向上下逆向,补偿由液晶的介电常数各向异性造成的发绿或者发黄的色度移动。
采用这种模式的FFS的电极间重叠区域非常宽,因而,具有如因长期电动作造成绝缘膜等劣化而导致残留图象不良这样的缺陷,为了改善这种缺陷,研究出了多种电极形状和结构变更等。
现在的FFS像素在实际的透射区域与黑底106的相关区域方面,像素的梳形位置位于非黑底106的实际的透射区域。由于与黑底106的这样的关系使透射率降低以及由于与黑底106交替作用造成的辉度不均匀等使产品特性下降。
发明内容
因而,本发明提出为解决上述现有技术中存在的各种问题的方案,目的是提供一种FFS液晶显示装置,其为了降低黑底的电阻而使导电性材料,形成像素和电场,形成周边部液晶动作的状态,要能够不产生楔部转倒线(disclination line),要在黑底区域上施加共用电场,形成像素电极和电场,使数据传输和像素电极之间的液晶动作,能够提高像素电极的液晶偏振光效率。
为了达到上述的目的,本发明提供一种边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置,其包括:相互间隔规定距离配置的上部和下部衬底;在除去规定区域的上述上部衬底的上部形成的导电性黑底;在上述下部衬底的上部上形成的共用电极;在上述共用电极的上部形成的门绝缘膜;像素电极,其在上述门绝缘膜上部形成,通过施加电压与上述导电性黑底以及上述共用电极一起形成具有规定方向的角度的电场穿过液晶,具有在与上述导电性黑底和上述共用电极之间形成1-区域和2-区域中之一的齿形的边部。

具体实施方式
以下,参考附图更详细地说明本发明的理想的实施方式。图4是表示涉及本发明的第一实施方式的FFS液晶显示装置的俯视图;图5是图4的B区域的放大图;图6是图4所示的FFS液晶显示装置的剖面图。
涉及本发明的第一实施方式的FFS液晶显示装置包括上部和下部衬底402和404、导电性黑底406、共用电极408、门绝缘膜410、像素电极412。
上部衬底402和下部衬底404相互间隔规定的距离配置,导电性黑底406在除规定区域以外的上述上部衬底402的上部形成,共用电极408在上述下部衬底404的上部形成,门绝缘膜410在上述共用电极408的上部形成。
像素电极412在上述门绝缘膜410的上部形成,通过施加电压,与上述导电性黑底406和上述共用电极408一起形成具有规定方向的角度的电场透过液晶,具有在与上述导电性黑底406和上述共用电极408之间形成1-区域或者2-区域之一的齿形的边缘部414。
参照图4和图5可知,使x∶y∶z的比率为1∶1∶1是理想的。x表示导电性黑底406与上述像素电极412之间的距离,y表示上述像素电极412的齿形的边部414的长度,z表示除上述像素电极412的边部414以外的区域的长度。
以下,参照图4~图6说明涉及本发明的第一实施方式的FFS液晶显示装置的动作。
设定液晶502在电源关闭时要固定在水平方向(零度)、没有光线泄漏。
当接通电源时,在共用电极408和像素电极412的垂直方向发生的电场穿过液晶502,然而,与现在的液晶状态相比,要在上述像素电极412与导电性黑底406、共用电极408之间形成区域、要如图5所示地形成电极能够改善视角和色度。
图7是表示涉及本发明的第二实施方式的黑底702、共用电极704和像素电极706的图。上述像素电极706具有齿形的边部708。
当上述共用电极704位于上述黑底702内时,形成x∶y∶z的比率为1∶1∶1是理想的。x表示黑底702和上述像素电极706之间的距离,y表示上述像素电极706的齿形的边部708的长度,z表示除上述像素电极706的边部708以外的区域的长度。
图8是表示涉及本发明的第三实施方式的黑底802、共用电极804和像素电极806的图。上述像素电极806具有齿形的边部810。
上述共用电极804位于上述黑底802的外部,x∶y∶z的比率为1∶2∶2是理想的。x表示黑底802和上述像素电极806之间的距离,y表示上述像素电极806的齿形的边部810的长度,z表示除上述像素电极806的边部810以外的区域的长度。
以上,以特定的理想的实施方式说明了本发明,但是本发明不局限于上述实施方式,只要是具有该本发明所属技术领域知识的人员,任何人都可以在不脱离本发明的权利要求的要旨范围内进行各种变更。
发明的效果
因而,本发明提供通过黑底形状的调整和像素的楔部分的调整等,能够实现更高的透射率的结构和方法。即,减小黑底部的宽度,能够提高透射率,通过增高黑底部的透射率,能够减少耗电量;通过黑底-共用电极-像素电极之间的2-区域效果,能够改善视角和色度;通过这样的黑底外围部的效果,形成对周边的视角的新的改善;通过共用电极、像素、黑底等的组合,能够实现黑底区域最小化;本发明还能够改善周边部液晶不均匀的现存的问题。
另外,为了调整施加在黑底的电场,可以把黑底与外部共用电极短路,施加信号;为了减少黑底侧的转偏,可以限制施加在信号线上的电场的大小。

Claims (4)

1.一种边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置,其特征在于,包括:相互间隔规定距离配置的上部和下部衬底;在除规定区域以外的所述上部衬底的上部形成的导电性黑底;在所述下部衬底的上部形成的共用电极;在所述共用电极的上部形成的门绝缘膜;像素电极,其在所述门绝缘膜的上部形成,通过施加电压与所述导电性黑底以及所述共用电极一起形成具有规定方向的角度的电场穿过液晶,具有在与所述导电性黑底以及所述共用电极之间形成1-区域和2-区域中之一的齿形的边部。
2.如权利要求1所述的边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置,其特征在于,所述导电性黑底具有齿形的边部。
3.如权利要求1所述的边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置,其特征在于,x∶y∶z的比率是1∶1∶1,这里,x表示所述导电性黑底与所述像素电极之间的距离,y表示所述像素电极的齿形的边部的长度,z表示除所述像素电极的边部以外的区域的长度。
4.如权利要求1所述的边缘场驱动模式液晶显示装置,其特征在于,当所述共用电极位于所述导电性黑底的内部以及外部时,x∶y∶z的比率分别为1∶1∶1以及1∶2∶2,这里,x是所述导电性黑底与所述像素电极之间的距离,y是所述像素电极的齿形的边部的长度,z是除所述像素电极的边部以外的区域的长度。
