Description

本発明は、発光幅木構造に関する。
従来より、廊下や階段などに用いられる発光幅木は提供されている。
特開２００３−２９３５４３号公報
しかしながら、従来の発光幅木は、幅木の位置を光で示すものであり、確かに、暗がりのなかで、その光によって、壁面と床面との境界部を視覚的に認識することができるのであるが、それでも、暗がりのなかでは、平衡感覚を失ってしまい、からだを壁面にぶつけたりすることがある。
本発明は、上記のような問題点に鑑み、暗がりのなかで、平衡感覚を失うことなくしっかりとした歩行をすることができる、発光幅木構造を提供することを課題とする。
そこで、本発明者は、調査と研究を重ねた結果、暗がりのなかでは、いくら幅木の存在を光で示しても、幅木部分を挟む壁面と床面の両方の存在を視覚的に認識することができなければ、平衡感覚は失われてしまうという事実を突き止めた。
本発明は、かかる解明に基づいてなされたものであって、床面と壁面との境界部に設置されている幅木の上端側に、壁面を照らす壁側発光部が備えられると共に、同幅木の下端側に、床面を照らす床側発光部が備えられていることを特徴とする発光幅木構造を内容とする。
この発光幅木構造では、壁側発光部と床側発光部との発光により、暗がりのなかでも、幅木周囲の壁面の存在と床面の存在とを視覚的に認識することができ、それにより、平衡感覚を失うことなくしっかりとした歩行をすることができる。
しかも、各発光部は、幅木の上端側と下端側に備えられているので、床面の掃除において掃除機の先端が発光部に当たってしまうおそれや、つま先が発光部に当たってしまうおそれが低く、発光部保護性に優れている。
上記の発光幅木構造において、各発光部が透光部からなり、幅木の背後に内蔵された共通光源が発光することで、壁側発光部と床側発光部とが発光するようになされている場合は、壁側発光部と床側発光部とを発光させる光源の数を、それぞれの発光部に光源を備えさせる場合に比べて半減することができ、上記のような発光幅木構造をコスト的に有利に製作、使用することができる。しかも、光源は幅木の背後に内蔵されているので、光源保護性に優れている。
また、幅木本体部が遮光性のものからなっている場合は、発光によって、幅木周囲の壁面と床面の両存在を純粋に視覚認識することができ、平衡感覚をよりしっかりともつことができる。
本発明の発光幅木構造は、以上のとおりのものであるから、暗がりのなかで、平衡感覚を失うことなくしっかりとした歩行をすることができる。
次に、本発明の実施最良形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
図１及び図２に示す実施形態の発光幅木構造１において、２は遮光性の幅木本体であり、幅木本体２の下端部と廊下３の床面４との間には床側発光部６を形成する透光部６ａが介設されていると共に、幅木本体２の上端背面側と壁面５との間には壁側発光部７を形成する透光部７ａが介設され、かつ、幅木本体２の背面側にはＬＥＤ等による光源８が内蔵され、光源８から発する光が、幅木本体２と壁面５との間の空間部を通じて各透光部６ａ，７ａを通過することで、床側発光部６と壁側発光部７とが発光し、床側発光部６が床面４を照らすと共に、壁側発光部７が壁面５を照らすようになされている。
上記の発光幅木構造では、壁側発光部７と床側発光部６との発光により、暗がりのなかでも、幅木構造部１の周囲の壁面５の存在と床面４の存在とを視覚的に認識することができ、それにより、平衡感覚を失うことなくしっかりとした歩行をすることができる。しかも、本実施形態では、幅木本体２が遮光性のものからなっているので、発光によって、幅木構造部１の周囲の壁面５と床面４の両存在を純粋に視覚認識することができ、平衡感覚をよりしっかりとしたものにすることができる。
また、各発光部６ａ，７ａは、幅木本体２の上端側と下端側に備えられているので、床面４の掃除において掃除機の先端が発光部６ａ，７ａに当たってしまうおそれや、つま先が発光部６ａ，７ａに当たってしまうおそれなどが低く、発光部保護性に優れていると共に、光源８は幅木本体２の背後に内蔵されているので、光源保護性にも優れている。しかも、光源８は、床側発光部６の発光と壁側発光部７の発光を兼ねて備えられた共通光源として備えられているので、上記のような発光幅木構造１をコスト的に有利に製作、使用することができる。
以上に、本発明の実施形態を示したが、本発明はこれに限られるものではなく、発明思想を逸脱しない範囲で各種の変更が可能である。例えば、本発明の発光幅木構造では、幅木の上端側と下端側のそれぞれに発光用の光源を備えたものであってもよい。また、本発明の発光幅木構造は、廊下３に限らず、室内などの各所に備えられる幅木に広く用いることができる。室内の場合であっても、暗がりのなかで、壁際に近寄る際に、足元の床面と壁面を視覚的に認識できることで、からだがふらつくのを効果的に防ぐことができる。
実施形態の発光幅木構造を示すもので、図（イ）は断面側面図、図（ロ）は断面斜視図である。 上記の発光幅木構造が用いられている廊下の全体透視図である。

Claims (1)

  1. 床面と壁面との境界部に設置されている遮光性の幅木本体の下端部と床面との間に床側発光部を形成する透光部が介設されると共に、幅木本体の上端背面側と壁面との間に壁側発光部を形成する透光部が介設され、かつ、幅木本体の背面側に共通光源が内蔵され、該共通光源から発する光が幅木本体と壁面との間の空間部を通じて各透光部を通過することで、前記床側発光部と壁側発光部とが発光するようになされており、該発光により、暗がりの中、壁側発光部によって照らされる壁面と、床側発光部によって照らされる床面とが視覚的に認識されると共に、壁面と床面との境界部が、幅木本体の有する遮光性によって認識されるようになされていることを特徴とする発光幅木構造。
