Abstract
PURPOSE: To realize both the 1-chip formation and the low power consumption for the electronic apparatus containing the liquid display substance (LD) and a printer as the recording means, by driving the LD with 1/4 duty and stopping the driving motor of the printer when no printing is carried out.
CONSTITUTION: The electrodes of LD counts 4 pieces of common lines COM1W COM4, and the terminals total 26 pieces in the case of 11 digits for 2 pieces every digit and the 1/4 duty driving respectively, thus enabling formation into one chip. As the effective voltage ratio reduces down to 1.732, the allowance error of the driving voltage is narrowed to obtain the contrast difference. At the printing time, the print cycle starts with supply of the power to the driving motor, and one print cycle completes with selection of the types on the type wheel, printing of the selected types, paper feeding and alignment and release of the type wheel to the holding state respectively. Then the driving motor is stopped and held.
