Description
Claims (11)
- 第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを含む通信システムにおいて第2のネットワーク接続ポイントを作動させる方法であり、前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントが、第1の周波数帯域内の信号を用いて、データを通信できる仲介となる前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを設けた通信リンクを有する第1の移動ノードと通信を行うように為す方法であって、
所定の周波数を有する、高出力で狭帯域のビーコン信号を反復ベースで前記第1の周波数帯域の中へ、高い出力レベルで送信し、前記第1の周波数帯域が、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントがユーザデータを中へ送信しない周波数帯域であるステップであって、前記高い出力レベルは、前記ビーコン信号が反復して送信される時間の間にユーザデータを送信するために前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントによって使用される平均のトーン当たり出力レベルよりも複数倍高い、トーン当たり出力レベルである、ステップと、
ユーザデータの通信を行うことができる、移動ノードとの通信リンクを確立し、維持するために、前記第1の周波数帯域とは異なる第2の周波数帯域を使用するステップと、を有する方法において、第2の周波数帯域を使用する前記ステップが、アップリンク通信チャネルのセグメントを移動ノードに割り当てるステップを含み、前記アップリンク通信チャネルは、アクセスセグメントとトラフィックセグメントとの反復パターンを含む構造を有し、該アクセスセグメントが、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントと確立された既存の無線通信リンクを有していない移動ノードが、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントとの無線通信リンクを確立するために、少なくとも1つの信号を無線で前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントへ送り込むことができる送り込み先セグメントであり、前記ビーコン信号のうちの1つのビーコン信号が前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントによって前記第1の周波数帯域の中へ送信された時点から、個々のアクセスセグメントが所定の時間オフセット値で発生する方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記高出力で狭帯域のビーコン信号が、ある時間の間に前記第2の周波数帯域においてユーザデータを送信するために使用されるトーンの、平均のトーン当たり信号エネルギーの少なくとも10倍を有する、方法であって、
前記第1の移動ノードが、前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントから前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントへハンドオフを行うように努めていることを示す信号を前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントから受信するステップをさらに有する方法。 - 請求項2に記載の方法であって、個々のアクセスセグメントが、前記アクセスセグメントの時間中に発生する少なくとも1つのシンボル送信時間中にアップリンク送信に使用することができる複数のトーンを含み、前記複数のトーンが少なくとも第1のセットのトーンを含む方法において、
第1のアクセスセグメントにおける前記第1のセットのトーンを前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントと接続された前記第1の移動ノード専用にするステップであって、前記第1のセットのトーンが、前記第1のアクセスセグメントにおける全てのトーンよりも少なく含むトーンのサブセットである、ステップと、
前記第1のセットのトーンの前記第1の移動ノードへの専用を示す前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを介して前記第1の移動ノードへ情報を伝えるステップと、をさらに有する方法。 - 請求項3に記載の方法であって、
前記アクセス要求信号を受信する前に、前記第1の周波数帯域の中へ送信された前記ビーコン信号のうちの1つのビーコン信号に相関して、前記第1のアクセスセグメントが発生する時点を示す情報を前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを介して前記第1の移動ノードへ伝えるステップをさらに有する方法。 - 第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを含む通信システムにおいて第2のネットワーク接続ポイントを作動する方法であって、前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントは、データが通信され得る前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントとの通信リンクを有する移動ノードと通信するために、第1の周波数帯域で信号を使用する、方法であって、
反復ベースで、前記第1の周波数帯域へ、所定の周波数を有するビーコン信号を送信することであって、前記第1の周波数帯域は、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントがユーザデータを送信しない周波数帯域である、ことと、
移動ノードとの通信リンクを確立および維持するために、前記第1の周波数帯域とは異なる第2の周波数帯域を使用することであって、前記第2の周波数帯域を使用するステップは、移動ノードにアップリンク通信チャネルのセグメントを割り当てることを含み、前記アップリンク通信チャネルは、アクセスセグメントおよびトラフィックセグメントの反復パターンを含む構造を有し、該アクセスセグメントは、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントとの確立された既存の無線通信リンクを持たない移動ノードが、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントとの無線通信リンクを確立するために、無線で、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントへ、少なくとも1つの信号を送り向けるセグメントであって、該アクセスセグメントは、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントによって前記第1の周波数帯域に送信されるビーコン信号と所定の時間オフセット関係を持つ、ことと、
前記移動ノードが前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントから前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントへのハンドオフを行うように努めていることを示す信号を受信することと、
前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントに接続された前記移動ノードに、第1のアクセスセグメントにおける第1のセットのトーンを専用にすることと、
前記移動ノードの前記第1のセットのトーンへの専用を示す前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを介して前記移動ノードに情報を伝えることと、
前記第1のアクセスセグメントが割り当てられた割当て先の前記移動ノードから得られた登録信号用の前記第1のアクセスセグメント内で前記第1のセットのトーンをモニタすることと、
前記専用の第1のセットのトーンを用いて伝えられた登録信号を前記移動ノードから受信することと、をさらに有する方法。 - 請求項5に記載の方法であって、
移動ノードからの登録信号用の前記第1のアクセスセグメント内の追加の少なくとも1セットのトーンをモニタするステップをさらに有し、前記追加の1セットのトーンが前記移動ノード専用のトーンではなく、前記追加セットのトーンが競合に基づいて使用される方法。 - 請求項5に記載の方法であって、
前記移動ノードへの前記第1のセットのトーンの専用を示す前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントを介して情報を前記移動ノードへ伝える前に、セキュリティ保護が施された通信リンクを、前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントに対応する第1のアクセスノードと確立するステップをさらに有する方法。 - 請求項7に記載の方法であって、
前記第1のアクセスセグメントの時間より前に前記第1の移動ノードに対応するIPアドレスを含む少なくとも1つのインターネットプロトコルパケットを受信するステップと、
前記IPパケットを格納するステップと、
前記第1のアクセスセグメントにおいて前記第1の移動ノード専用の前記1セットのトーンを用いて確立された無線通信リンクを介して前記IPパケットを前記移動ノードへ転送するステップと、をさらに有する方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントが第1の基地局のセクタであり、前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントが第2の基地局のセクタである方法において、
前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントと第2の通信リンクを確立するとき、前記第1の移動ノードが使用する専用リソースを割り当てるステップと、
前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントと前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイント間の通信リンクによって、前記第1のネットワーク接続ポイントへ前記専用リソースに関する情報を送信するステップと、
前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントによって、前記第1の移動ノード専用のアップリンク通信セグメント内の前記第1の移動ノードからのタイミング制御信号を無線で受信するステップと、
前記第1の移動ノードからユーザデータを受信する前に、前記タイミング制御信号を受信した後、タイミング同期信号を前記第1の移動ノードへ送信するステップと、をさらに有する方法。 - 前記専用リソースに関する前記情報が、前記第1の移動ノード専用の前記アップリンク通信セグメントを特定するのに十分な情報を前記第1の移動ノードに対して提供する請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のネットワーク接続ポイントと無線で通信を行うとき、前記専用リソースに関する前記情報の中に前記第1の移動ノードが使用する装置識別子が含まれる請求項9に記載の方法。
