Description
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態によるヘッドアップディスプレイ装置(以下、HUDという。)1の構成を示す模式図である。
図4から図6は、液晶パネル30を3方から見た平面図、および側面図である。図4は、液晶パネル30の投射レンズ26とは反対側の平面図であり、図5は、液晶パネル30の投射レンズ26側の平面図であり、図6は、液晶パネル30の側面図である。図7は、図6中の破線部を拡大した断面図である。
S140では、測定した温度Tが−7℃未満であるか否かを判定する。S140での判定がYES、つまり液晶温度Tが−7℃未満であり図13に示すように比較的、液晶46の表示応答時間RE0が長いと判定されると、処理がS150に移行する。
S140での判定がNO、つまり液晶温度Tが−7℃以上であると判定されると、処理がS170に移行する。
S170での判定がNO、つまり液晶温度Tが25℃よりも高いと判定されると、処理がS200に移行する。
本発明の第2実施形態は、第1実施形態による透光性基板61上に形成した発熱部71の変形例である。第2実施形態では、透光性基板61上に形成した発熱部71の一部を除去することにより、発熱部71に発熱部71に流れる電流を制限する抵抗調整部72を形成している。これにより、抵抗調整部72の前後に形成されている発熱部71の発熱量を制御することができる。
本発明の第3実施形態は、第1実施形態のヒータ70およびサーミスタ75をTN(Twisted Nematic)型やTFT(Thin Film Transistor)型の液晶パネルに適用した例である。図17は、TN型の液晶表示パネル40aの要部を拡大した断面図である。
本発明の第4実施形態は、第1実施形態のヒータ70およびサーミスタ75をFSTN(Film Super Twisted Nematic)型やFSTN型の一種であるASTN型の液晶パネルに適用した例である。図18は、FSTN型の液晶表示パネル40bの要部を拡大した断面図である。図19は、ASTN型の液晶表示パネル40cの要部を拡大した断面図である。
Claims (5)
- 一対の基板を有し、前記両基板の対向する面に複数の電極が設けられ、前記両基板の間隙に液晶が封入されている液晶表示パネルと、
前記基板の反電極形成面側に設けられ、少なくとも前記基板の板厚方向で前記液晶表示パネルの表示領域と重なる位置に配置され、通電することにより発熱する透明な発熱部と、前記発熱部を支持する支持基板と、を有するヒータと、
前記ヒータの前記発熱部に隣り合って設置される温度感知部を有し、前記支持基板の前記液晶表示パネルの前記基板とは反対側であり、かつ前記液晶表示パネルの前記表示領域外に設置される温度検出器と、
前記液晶表示パネルの前記基板に隣り合って設けられ、一対の基板間に液晶が封入される補償パネルであって、前記補償パネルの一対の基板のうち、前記液晶表示パネル側の基板が前記支持基板を兼ねている補償パネルを備え、
前記発熱部には、前記液晶表示パネルの前記表示領域に対応する部位へ流れる電流を制限する、または前記温度検出器近傍へ流れる電流を制限する抵抗調整部が形成されており、
前記抵抗調整部は、前記発熱部のうち、前記表示領域外の前記発熱部の一部を除去することにより抵抗を調整することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記発熱部は、前記補償パネルの前記基板の板厚方向で前記表示領域外の位置にも形成されており、
前記温度検出器は、前記表示領域外における前記発熱部に隣り合って設置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記発熱部は、少なくとも前記液晶表示パネルの前記表示領域全面を覆っていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記発熱部と隣り合った位置に、前記発熱部と直列に温度ヒューズが接続されていることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記温度検出器は、サーミスタであることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。
