Description
冷間鍛造用の鋼線は線材の伸線加工により製造される。この伸線加工は、一般に、鋼の圧延により得られた線材を必要に応じて熱処理した後、酸洗などにより脱スケール処理し、前処理として皮膜処理を施してから、ダイス前潤滑剤と呼ばれる、ダイス前に配置された潤滑剤の中を通過させてダイスから引き抜くことにより行われる。また、このような工程で製造された鋼線は、必要に応じてさらに熱処理し、上記と同様の工程をさらに1回以上繰り返される場合もある。
一方、化学的皮膜処理は、化学反応を必要とするため、より高温および長時間の処理が必要となることが多い。例えば、代表的な化学的皮膜処理である燐酸塩処理の場合、85〜95℃の燐酸塩浴に5〜10分浸漬する必要がある。
本発明は、液中の全固形分に基づいて15〜50質量%の黒鉛粉末を含有する石灰石けん液で鋼材処理して表面に乾燥皮膜を形成した後、該鋼材を伸線加工することを特徴とする、冷間鍛造用鋼線の製造方法である。
・黒鉛粉末の平均粒径が10μm以下である、
・前記処理の前に、鋼材表面に、硫酸塩、珪酸塩、硼酸塩、燐酸塩、蓚酸塩の1種または2種以上を含む下地皮膜を形成する、
・前記伸線加工時に乾式潤滑剤を使用する、
・前記鋼材の鋼組成が、質量%で、C:0.03〜1.0%、Si:0.5%以下、Mn:1.5%以下、P:0.02%以下、S:0.02%以下を含有する。
まず、黒鉛(粉末)の潤滑性(動的摩擦試験における摩擦係数で評価)は、他の代表的な潤滑粉末である二硫化モリブデンやポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)と比較して、300℃以下の温度領域では劣っているが、300℃〜500℃の温度域では著しく良好になる。有機物であるPTFEは一般に300℃以上の温度では使用することができない。二硫化モリブデンも、耐熱性が黒鉛より低く、温度が300℃を超えると動的摩擦係数が急激に増大し、潤滑性を発揮することができなくなる。これに対し、耐熱性に優れた黒鉛は、550℃までの温度域において優れた潤滑性を示し、特に300〜500℃の温度域で動的摩擦係数が最も低くなり、潤滑性は最も高くなる。
脱スケール→下地皮膜処理→石灰石けん皮膜処理→ダイス前潤滑→伸線加工。
本発明で使用する石灰石けん液は、黒鉛粉末を含有させる点を除いて、従来から伸線加工に使用されてきたものと同様でよい。
圧延後に球状化焼鈍−伸線−球状化焼鈍を施した、直径12.2mm、長さ300mの試験用SCM435鋼の鋼線を素材として、下記工程で潤滑処理を施してからダイス引き抜きによる伸線加工に供した。
試験部位:試験片外周部4箇所、
摺動方向:軸方向、
圧子:SUJ2製2mm径の鋼球、
試験荷重:3kgf、
摺動速度:3.6mm/s、
試験環境:室温・大気中。
Claims (6)
- 液中の全固形分に基づいて15〜50質量%の黒鉛粉末を含有する石灰石けん液で鋼材を処理して表面に乾燥皮膜を形成した後、該鋼材を伸線加工することを特徴とする、冷間鍛造用鋼線の製造方法。
- 黒鉛粉末の平均粒径が10μm以下である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記処理の前に、鋼材表面に、硫酸塩、珪酸塩、硼酸塩、燐酸塩、蓚酸塩の1種または2種以上を含む下地皮膜を形成する、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記伸線加工時に乾式潤滑剤を使用する、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 乾式潤滑剤がポリテトラフルオロエチレンおよび/または二硫化モリブデンを含有する、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記鋼材の鋼組成が、質量%で、C:0.03〜1.0%、Si:0.5%以下、Mn:1.5%以下、P:0.02%以下、S:0.02%以下を含有する、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
