Description
a) 溶融状態で、熱可塑性ポリマーおよび発泡剤からなる発泡性組成物をダイに通して押出し成形して発泡を行わせ、
b) ダイの出口で得られた発泡材料を冷却し、刃を使用して直接切断する。
真珠状成形物の体積は、以下の手順に従って水置換により見積もられている。
・フラスコ+水の集合体の質量を測定し、これをM1で表す。
・水をフラスコから出す。
・フラスコに真珠状成形物の質量 m1を入れる。
・フラスコを再び縁まで水をいっぱいに注ぐ。
・水の充填は、金属の格子を用いて、真珠状成形物を入れたものの体積が、表面での真珠状成形物の存在にもかかわらずV1に等しくなるように注意しながら行われる。
・フラスコ+水+真珠状成形物の集合体の質量を測定し、これをM2で表す。
・真珠状成形物の単位体積当たりの質量は、つまり、
[m1(/M1−M2+m1)]*dwater (g/cm3(dwater=1g/cm3))
と等しい。
Rhodia Technical Fibers社より販売されているPA66粒体(132J00(登録商標)(90% w/w)参照)と、Bayer社より販売されているポリカーボネートの粒体(Makrolon 2207 (登録商標)(10% w/w)参照)との混合物を、Gala社より販売される(LPU Mod 5 参照)水中切断システムを具備した、Leistriz社より販売される2軸押出機(TSA-EMP 26-35(登録商標)参照)に導入する。2軸押出機の発熱体上の温度分布は、270−280−280−280−280−280(℃)であり、アダプターは272℃に保ち、ダイは330℃に熱する。スクリュの回転速度は201rpmにする。押出量は15kg/hである。ダイは直径2.4mmの単一の穴を構成し、切断水は85℃に保つ。
Wellman社より購入したPETの粒体(Permaclear VI 84(登録商標)(85% w/w)参照)およびGE Plastics社より購入したポリカーボネートの粒体(Lexan 121-111(登録商標)(15% w/w)参照)を、Gala社より購入した水中用切断システム(LPU Mod 5 参照)を具備した、Leistriz社より購入した2軸押出機(TSA-EMP 26-35(登録商標)参照)に導入する。2軸押出機の発熱体上の温度分布は、280−300−315−335−275(℃)であり、アダプターは272℃に保ち、ダイは330℃に熱する。スクリュの回転速度は200rpmにする。押出量は、15kg/hである。押出しダイは、直径2.4mmの単一の口を構成し、切断水は85℃に保つ。刃ホルダーは2つの刃からなり、切断速度は2800rpmである。
Claims (13)
- a)溶融状態で、熱可塑性ポリマーおよび発泡剤からなる発泡性組成物をダイに通して押し出し成形して発泡を行い、ここで、該熱可塑性ポリマーはポリアミドであり、
b)得られた発泡材料を、ダイの出口で、液体を用いて冷却すると共に刃を用いて切断する、
逐次工程からなる、連続した外皮を有する発泡ポリマーを主体とする真珠状成形物の作製方法。 - 前記発泡剤は、ポリマー溶融物中に分散または溶解することが可能な気体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡剤は多孔形成剤であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡剤は、ポリマー溶融物中に溶解することが可能な揮発性化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡剤は、加熱によって前記ポリマーと化学的に反応して気体を発生させることが可能な化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡性組成物は、造核剤および/または界面活性剤および/または可塑剤を含有することを特徴とする請求項1〜5のうちいずれか1に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡性組成物は、補強充填剤、つや消し剤、顔料、染料、熱安定剤または光安定剤、生物活性剤、防汚剤および/または帯電防止剤を含有することを特徴とする請求項1〜6のうちいずれか1に記載の方法。
- 前記工程b)での冷却は、水を用いて行われることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のうちいずれか1に記載の方法。
- 得られる真珠状成形物は、10mm以下の直径を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜8のうちいずれか1に記載の方法。
- 得られる真珠状成形物は、0.8g/cm3以下の単位体積当たりの質量を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜9のうちいずれか1に記載の方法。
- 連続した外皮を有する発泡ポリアミドを主体とする、球状の真珠状成形物。
- 10mm以下の直径を有することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の真珠状成形物。
- 0.8g/cm3以下の単位体積当たりの質量を有することを特徴とする請求項11または12に記載の真珠状成形物。
