Description
図1は、本発明の第1の実施の形態による液晶表示装置内の液晶量を調節するための方法を示すフローチャートである。図2は、図1の方法により液晶量が調節される液晶表示装置を示す断面図である。
図7は、本発明の第2の実施の形態による液晶表示装置における密封部材及びマスクの関係を示す平面図である。図8は、図7に示すマスクを示す斜視図である。図9は、マスクを利用してリペア部を形成する工程を示す断面図である。図10は、密封部材に形成されたリペア部を示す断面図である。図11は、リペア部を再密封することを示す断面図である。
Claims (13)
- 液晶収納空間を形成するための密封部材を有する液晶表示パネル内に液晶を注入するステップと、
前記密封部材の一部の幅を前記密封部材の残りの部分に比べて減少させて、リペア部を形成するステップと、
前記リペア部に対応する前記密封部材の幅が減少している部分を一部を開口し、前記収納空間に収納された液晶の一部を吐出することにより、液晶量を調節するステップと、
前記密封部材の開口された部分を再密封するステップと
を含み、
前記リペア部を形成するステップは、
前記密封部材の下部に前記密封部材と部分的にオーバーラップされた金属パターンを加熱するステップと、
加熱された前記金属パターンが酸化することで、前記金属パターンと前記密封部材とがオーバーラップされる領域の前記密封部材が除去されるステップと
を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。 - 前記金属パターンが、レーザービームにより加熱されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記レーザービームが、800nm〜1,200nmの波長を有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記金属パターンが、アルミニウム、アルミニウム合金、酸化インジウム・スズ及び酸化インジウム亜鉛からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記リペア部が、少なくとも2つ以上が前記密封部材に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記リペア部と対応する前記密封部材の残留密封部の幅が、前記密封部材の全体幅の5%〜15%であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記リペア部と対応する前記密封部材の開放された部分を再密封するステップが、
開放された前記密封部材に、光により硬化される光硬化剤を配置するステップと、
前記光硬化剤に前記光を走査するステップと
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置内の液晶量調節方法。 - 第1基板と前記第1基板に対向する第2基板との間に介在された密封部材により形成された収納空間に液晶を収納するステップと、
前記密封部材の一部に重なって配置された金属パターンに対応する開口を有するマスクを、前記第1基板上に配置するステップと、
前記マスクの前記開口を介して、光を前記金属パターンに走査して、前記金属部材を加熱しながら前記密封部材の一部の幅を前記密封部材の残りの部分に比べて減少させることにより、リペア部を形成するステップと、
前記リペア部に対応する前記密封部材の幅が減少している部分を一部開口し、前記収納空間に収納された液晶の一部を吐出することにより、液晶量を調節するステップと、
前記密封部材の開口された部分を再密封するステップと
を含む液晶表示装置の液晶量調節方法。 - 前記マスクが、
前記第1基板と接触し、前記開口が形成された第1面と、
前記第1面から前記第1基板の上面と隣接している側面に沿って延びて折り曲げられた第2面と
を有することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置の液晶量調節方法。 - 前記開口により、前記密封部材の全幅のうち、約85%〜95%が前記光により露出されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記開口により、前記密封部材のうち、前記液晶と接触する内側壁に対向する外側壁が、前記光に露出されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記光が、レーザービームであることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置の液晶量調節方法。
- 前記レーザービームが、800nm〜1,200nmの波長を有することを特徴とする請求項12に記載の液晶表示装置の液晶量調節方法。
