Claims (7)
- 電極を備えた一対の基板を間隙を介して貼合し、その間隙に少なくとも液晶を含む調光材料を封入して成り、両基板ともに外部回路と接続する電極接続部を有する光学素子において、
前記両基板の電極接続部の少なくとも一部分が当該光学素子の同一辺にあり、一方の電極接続部と他方の電極接続部とが互いに対向しない領域にそれぞれ電極部を有することにより前記一方の電極接続部と前記他方の電極接続部とが重ならない構造を有し、それぞれの電極接続部の電極部と外部回路とが接続端子を介して電気接続され、
前記接続端子は前記同一辺から一方向に延びるように設けられ、その一方の面に前記一方の電極接続部の前記電極部と接続された電極部が形成されて前記外部回路と接続され、他方の面に前記他方の電極接続部の前記電極部と接続された電極部が形成されて前記外部回路と接続されていることを特徴とする光学素子。 - 請求項1の光学素子において、それぞれの前記電極接続部の前記電極部が当該光学素子の辺から突出していないことを特徴とする光学素子。
- 請求項1に記載の光学素子において、
前記両基板の前記電極接続部の互いに対向しない領域に保護膜を設けることを特徴とする光学素子。 - 請求項1に記載の光学素子において、
前記両基板の片方あるいは両方ともに、周辺の一部あるいは全周にわたり電極が存在しないエリアを有し、その一部あるいは全部を上下の両基板を接着し、かつ外界と分離するための層を有することを特徴とする光学素子。 - 請求項1及至請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子を、光を出射するバックライトと、該バックライトから入射した光の方向を規制して出射する光線方向規制素子の上に積層したことを特徴とする光源。
- 請求項1及至請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子を、光を出射するバックライトと、バックライトから入射した光の方向を規制して出射する光線方向規制素子の上に積層し、当該光学素子の上に液晶表示素子を積層した表示装置。
- 請求項1及至請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子と、光源及び表示装置を搭載した端末機。
