Description
PC基板101上に、第1誘電体層102、記録層103、第2誘電体層104、及び、反射層105を順次スパッタリングにより積層し、第2誘電体層104のターゲット組成を種々変化させたディスクを作成した。第1誘電体層102には、(ZnS)80mol%−(SiO2)20mol%を用い、膜厚を50nmとした。記録層103には、Ge8Te8−Sb2Te3を用い、膜厚を15nmとした。反射層105には、AgPdCuを用い、膜厚を100nmとした。第2誘電体層104の膜厚は15nmとした。
実施例1と同様に、PC基板101上に、第1誘電体層102、記録層103、第2誘電体層104、及び、反射層105を順次スパッタリングにより積層し、第2誘電体層104のターゲット組成を種々変化させたディスクを作成した。第1誘電体層102には、(ZnS)80mol%−(SiO2)20mol%を用い、膜厚を50nmとした。記録層103には、Ge8Te8−Sb2Te3を用い、膜厚を15nmとした。反射層105には、AgPdCuを用い、膜厚を100nmとした。第2誘電体層104には、ZnS−Ta2O5に、Al2O3、SiO2、Y2O3、Bi2O3、又は、CeO2を混合した材料を用い、膜厚は15nmとした。
実施例1と同様に、PC基板101上に、第1誘電体層102、記録層103、第2誘電体層104、及び、反射層105を順次スパッタリングにより積層し、第2誘電体層104のターゲット組成を種々変化させたディスクを作成した。第1誘電体層102には、(ZnS)80mol%−(SiO2)20mol%を用い、膜厚を50nmとした。記録層103には、Ge8Te8−Sb2Te3を用い、膜厚を15nmとした。反射層105には、AgPdCuを用い、膜厚を100nmとした。第2誘電体層104の膜厚は15nmとした。
実施例2と同じPC基板101上に、図2に示すように、第1誘電体層102、記録層103、第2誘電体層104、反射層105、第3誘電体層106を順次スパッタリングにより積層し、第2誘電体層104及び第3誘電体層106のターゲット組成を種々変化させたディスクを作成した。なお、図2は、2層相変化ディスクのL0用メディア(レーザ入射面に近い側の記録メディア)部分を示しており、図示は省略しているが、第3誘電体層106上に、更に誘電体層、記録層、誘電体層、及び、反射層を備えている。
ROMの密度を向上させる手法の一つとして、図4に示すような超解像ROMが知られている。この光学的情報記録媒体200は、基板201、誘電体層202、超解像層203、誘電体層204、反射層205を有する。超解像層203としては、例えば相変化層を使用することが可能である。再生に際して、再生パワを通常より高くすることで、超解像層(相変化層)203の一部が溶融する。溶融した部分と溶融していない部分とでは、光学定数が異なるので、例えば、溶融した部分の反射率が溶融していない部分の反射率より高くなるように誘電体層202、204の膜厚を設定しておくことで、溶融した部分のみ、すなわち、もともとの集光ビーム径よりも小さなビームを用いて情報の再生をすることができ、記録密度を向上させることが可能となる。

Claims (7)
- レーザ光照射により光学特性が変化する記録層を有し、該記録層にレーザ光を照射して情報の記録・再生を行う光学的情報記録媒体において、
銀を主成分とする反射層と、
前記反射層に隣接して設けられ、少なくとも亜鉛の硫化物、及び、タンタルの酸化物を含む誘電体層であって、前記亜鉛の硫化物の組成比が10mol%以上40mol%以下であり、かつ、前記タンタルの酸化物の組成比が20mol%以上50mol%以下である誘電体層とを備えることを特徴とする光学的情報記録媒体。 - 前記誘電体層が、更に、アルミニウムの酸化物、シリコンの酸化物、イットリウムの酸化物、ビスマスの酸化物、及び、セリウムの酸化物の少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の光学的情報記録媒体。
- 前記誘電体層が前記反射層のレーザ光進行方向から見て後ろ側に形成されており、該誘電体層のレーザ光進行方向から見て後ろ側に、ニオブの酸化物、及び、チタンの酸化物の少なくとも一方を含む別の誘電体層を更に備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の光学的情報記録媒体。
- レーザ光照射により光学特性が変化する相変化層を有する再生専用の光学的情報記録媒体において、
銀を主成分とする反射層と、
前記反射層に隣接して設けられ、少なくとも亜鉛の硫化物、及び、タンタルの酸化物を含む誘電体層であって、前記亜鉛の硫化物の組成比が10mol%以上40mol%以下であり、かつ、前記タンタルの酸化物の組成比が20mol%以上50mol%以下である誘電体層とを備えることを特徴とする光学的情報記録媒体。 - 前記誘電体層が、更に、アルミニウムの酸化物、シリコンの酸化物、イットリウムの酸化物、ビスマスの酸化物、及び、セリウムの酸化物の少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の光学的情報記録媒体。
- レーザ光進行方向から見て銀を主成分とする反射率調整層が前記相変化層より手前側に形成されており、該反射率調整層に隣接して前記誘電体層が設けられることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の光学的情報記録媒体。
- 波長380〜430nmの半導体レーザを用いて情報の記録又は再生の少なくとも一方が行われることを特徴とする、請求項1又は請求項4に記載の光学的情報記録媒体。
