本願は2001年9月27日に出願されかつ”水素精製装置、構成要素、及びこれらと同一物を含む燃料処理システム(Hydrogen Purification Devices, Components and Fuel Processing Systems Containing the Same)"という名称の同時継続出願中の従来技術文献、2002年2月4日に出願されかつ"水素精製装置、構成要素及びこれらと同一物を含む燃料処理システム(Hydrogen Purification Devices Components and Fuel Processing Systems Containing the Same)"という名称の別の従来技術文献、2002年2月28日に出願されかつ"水素精製装置、構成要素及びこれらと同一物を含む燃料処理システム(Hydrogen Purification Devices, Components and Fuel Processing Systems Containing the Same)"という名称のまた別の従来技術文献による優先権を主張する(例えば、特許文献1乃至3参照)。

Claims (27)
- 燃料処置装置であって、
送給流れを受容しかつ該送給流れからの水素ガスと他のガスを含有する混合ガス流れを作り出すように構成される水素製造領域と、
前記混合ガス流れの少なくとも一部を受容しかつそこから少なくとも水素ガスを含有する水素に富んだ流れを作り出すように構成される分離領域と、を備え、
前記分離領域が、
内部区画室を画成するエンクロージャーであって、
前記エンクロージャーは、
自身を通じて水素ガスを含有する混合ガス流が該エンクロージャーに伝えられる少なくとも1つの入口ポート、
水素ガスを含有する浸透流れが前記エンクロージャーから取り除かれる少なくとも1つの製品出口ポート、及び
前記他のガスの少なくとも大部分を含有する副次的流れが前記エンクロージャーから取り除かれる少なくとも1つの副次的出口ポートを含み、
前記水素に富んだ流れが前記浸透流れの少なくとも一部を含む、前記エンクロージャーと、
前記区画室内の水素選択性薄膜であって、
前記水素選択性薄膜は熱膨脹係数を有し、
前記混合ガス流れが接触するように構成される第1表面と、
前記第1表面とは全体的に対向する浸透表面と、を具備しかつパラジウムと銅を含有する合金から少なくとも構成され、
前記浸透流れは前記浸透表面に対して前記水素選択性薄膜を通過する前記混合ガス流れの一部を含み、及び更に
前記副次的流れは、前記水素選択性薄膜を通過しない前記混合ガス流れの一部を含む、前記水素選択性薄膜と、
前記エンクロージャー内で前記水素選択性薄膜を支持する手段であって、
前記エンクロージャー内で前記水素選択性薄膜を支持する手段は、ニッケルと銅を含有する合金から少なくとも部分的に構成されかつ前記水素選択性薄膜の熱膨脹係数の90%〜110%の範囲にある熱膨脹係数を有する薄膜接触構造体を含む、前記支持する手段と、を備え、
前記薄膜は前記薄膜接触構造体と接触するが、該薄膜接触構造体に固定された態様で取り付けられていない、燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体の熱膨脹係数は、前記薄膜の熱膨脹係数の5%以内にある、請求項
1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体の熱膨脹係数は、前記薄膜の熱膨脹係数から1μm/m/℃だけ偏
倚している、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体は、16μm/m/℃より小さくかつ13μm/m/℃以上の熱膨
脹係数を有する、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体は、前記薄膜の熱膨脹係数より小さい熱膨脹係数を有する、請求項
1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記水素選択性薄膜を支持する前記手段が、ニッケルと銅を含有する合金から少なくと
も構成される、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体は水素選択性を有さない、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。
- 前記薄膜接触構造体は、前記エンクロージャー内の前記薄膜を位置決めするように構成
される取付台を含む、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜は周辺領域を含みかつ前記取付台は前記薄膜の周辺領域に固定したフレームを
含む、請求項8に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記フレームは前記エンクロージャーの一部を構成する、請求項9に記載の燃料処理装
置。 - 前記フレームは、前記薄膜の熱膨脹係数と同じか又は小さい熱膨脹係数を有する、請求
項9に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体は、前記薄膜の第1表面又は浸透表面の少なくとも一部を横切って
延在する支持部を含む、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記支持部は、前記薄膜の熱膨脹係数と同じか又は小さい熱膨脹係数を有する、請求項
12に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記支持部は、前記薄膜の浸透表面の少なくとも一部を横切って延在する、請求項12
に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜の浸透表面は前記支持部に接触するが該支持部には取り付けられず、そしてさ
らに、前記薄膜を通過する前記混合ガス流れの部分は該支持部を通過し得る、請求項14に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記薄膜は第1水素選択性薄膜であり、前記エンクロージャーは、前記第1薄膜と少な
くとも同じ熱膨脹係数を有する第2水素選択性薄膜を更に含み、前記混合ガス流れによって接触するように構成される第1表面、及び前記第1薄膜の浸透表面に全体的に面する浸透表面を含み、そして前記混合ガス流れの部分が流過し得る前記薄膜の浸透表面間に採取導管を画成する第1及び第2薄膜間に前記支持部が延在する、請求項13に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 前記燃料処理装置は少なくとも1つの改質触媒ベッドを含みかつ蒸気改質によって前記
混合ガス流れを作り出すように構成される、請求項1に記載の燃料処理装置。 - 少なくとも200℃の選択された温度かつ少なくとも344750Pa(50psi)の選択された圧力で作動するように構成される装置であって、
前記装置は、
熱膨張係数を有しかつパラジウムと銅の合金から構成される少なくとも1つの水素選択性薄膜を含む少なくとも液密な内部区画室を具備するエンクロージャーを含み、
水素ガス及び他のガスを含有する混合ガスが接触するように構成される第1表面を含み、
水素ガスを備えかつ少なくとも1つの前記水素選択性薄膜を通過する前記混合ガス流れの一部から少なくとも部分的に構成される、水素に富んだ流れ内に前記混合ガス流れを分離するように構成される、浸透表面を更に含み、前記薄膜を通過しない前記混合ガス流れの一部から少なくとも部分的に構成される副次的流れを含む水素精製装置において、
前記装置が、前記薄膜の前記第1表面又は前記浸透表面の少なくとも1つに接触する薄膜接触構造体を含み、及び更に前記エンクロージャーは前記薄膜を支持すべく少なくとも1つの前記水素選択性薄膜と接触するが、該薄膜接触構造体に固定された態様で取り付けられていない、少なくとも1つの薄膜接触構造体を含み、
前記エンクロージャーの少なくとも1つの前記薄膜接触構造体は、200℃の温度範囲で、前記装置の熱サイクルに基づいて、少なくとも1つの前記薄膜接触構造体が少なくとも1つの前記水素選択性薄膜に皺を与えないように構成されるように、少なくとも1つの前記水素選択性薄膜の熱膨張係数に近いか又は等しい熱膨張係数を有するように選択される水素精製装置。 - 送給流れを受容しかつ前記混合ガス流れをそこから作り出すように構成される燃料処理
組立体と組み合わせた、請求項18に記載の装置。 - 前記燃料処理組立体は少なくとも1つの改質触媒ベッドを含みかつさらに前記送給流れ
は水と炭素含有供給材料を含む、請求項19に記載の装置。 - 前記改質領域及び前記エンクロージャーは、共通のシェル内に少なくとも部分的に収容
される、請求項20に記載の装置。 - 水素精製装置であって、
内部区画室を画成するエンクロージャーであって、
前記エンクロージャーは水素ガスと他のガスを含有する混合ガス流れが自身を通じて前記エンクロージャーに伝わる少なくとも1つの入口ポート、
前記水素ガスを含有する浸透流れが自身を通じて前記エンクロージャーから取り除かれる少なくとも1つの製品出口ポート、及び、
前記他のガスの少なくとも大部分を含有する副次的流れが前記エンクロージャーから取り除かれる少なくとも1つの副次的製品出口ポートを含む、前記エンクロージャーと、
前記区画室内の少なくとも1つの薄膜エンベロープであって、
各薄膜エンベロープは一対の水素選択性薄膜から構成され、
各薄膜は前記混合ガス流れに接触するように構成される第1表面及び前記第1表面とは全体的に対向する浸透表面を含み、
1対の前記薄膜は、一対の前記水素選択性薄膜が互いに離隔配置されてこれらの浸透表面が全体的に互いに面してこれらの浸透表面間に延在する採取導管を画成するように配向され、
各薄膜エンベロープは前記採取導管内にありかつ1対の前記水素選択性薄膜を支持するように構成される支持部を更に含み、
前記支持部は1対の前記水素選択性薄膜の浸透表面を支持するようにそれぞれ構成された、1対の全体的に対向する表面を含み、
前記浸透流れは、前記混合ガス流れの少なくとも一部が前記副次的流れの少なくとも一部を構成する前記薄膜を通過しない状態で、前記薄膜を経由して前記採取導管まで通過する前記混合ガス流れの一部から構成され、及び前記水素選択性薄膜の各々は熱膨張率を有する、前記少なくとも1つの薄膜エンベロープと、
前記エンクロージャー内に少なくとも1つの前記薄膜エンベロープを支持する手段であって、
前記エンクロージャー内に少なくとも1つの前記薄膜エンベロープを支持する前記手段は、前記支持部を含み、
前記支持部の対向する表面は、前記水素選択性薄膜とは異なる組成、及び前記水素選択性薄膜の熱膨張係数未満の熱膨張係数を有する薄膜接触構造体を供する、前記支持する手段と、を備え、及び更に
前記薄膜は前記支持部の対向する表面に接触するが、該支持部の対向する表面に固定された態様で取り付けられていない水素精製装置。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体は、ニッケルと銅を含有する合金を含む、請求項22に記載の装置
。 - 前記薄膜接触構造体は、前記薄膜の熱膨脹係数の±10%以内にある熱膨張係数を有する、請求項23に記載の装置。
- 前記薄膜は全体的に平面形状を有する、請求項22に記載の装置。
- 前記水素選択性薄膜の各々は端縁領域を含み、また前記端縁領域は少なくとも1つのフ
レームを含むフレーム組立体に取り付けられ、更に前記薄膜接触構造体は前記フレーム組立体を含む、請求項22に記載の装置。 - 前記フレーム組立体は、前記エンクロージャーの一部を構成する、請求項26に記載の
装置。
