Description
ここで、図5の誤差拡散及びディザリングのパターンの網掛けされたピクセルは、キャリーが発生するピクセルの位置を示し、表示される画面上のパターンはキャリー可否に従って、実際にオン/オフされるピクセルの位置を示すのである。
本発明はアドレス電極に充電される陽イオンの数が縮んでパネルの寿命が延ばされて輝度の減少が最小化されるだけでなくスキャン電極とサステイン電極に印加されるバイアス電圧の大きさが同様として漏洩する電力の大きさを減らすことができる效果がある。
Claims (22)
- 複数のアドレス電極を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルと、
外部から入力される映像信号を逆ガンマ補正する逆ガンマ補正部と、
お互いに接する複数個のピクセルを2つのタイプに区分し、各フレームで何れか一つのタイプにあたるピクセルの前記逆ガンマ補正された映像信号の小数ビットの下位ビットの間で誤差拡散を遂行し、前記小数ビットの中で上位ビットを少なくともふたつ以上のディザマスクパターンを利用してディザリングするハーフトーン部と、
前記ハーフトーン処理された映像信号を該当のサブフィールドにマッピングするサブフィールドマッピング部と、
を含むことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記少なくともふたつ以上のタイプは毎フレーム毎に規則的な順に使われることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記少なくともふたつ以上のタイプは毎フレーム毎にランダムした手順で使われることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記タイプの個数と前記ディザマスクパターンの個数は等しいことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ディザマスクパターンに従って誤差拡散タイプが選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1または4記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記タイプに従ってお互いに違う誤差拡散方向を持つことを特徴とする、 請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- ライン単位でお互いに違う誤差拡散方向を持つことを特徴とする、 請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記誤差拡散係数が予め貯蔵されるルックアップテーブル貯蔵部をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記タイプに従ってお互いに違う誤差拡散係数が割り当てされることを特徴とする、請求項1または8記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記何れ一つのタイプで所定のピクセルを中心に接するピクセルの位置に従って誤差拡散係数が決まることを特徴とする、請求項1または8記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記下位ビットの階調値に従って誤差拡散係数が決まることを特徴とする、請求項1または8記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- (a)外部から入力される映像信号を逆ガンマ補正する段階と、
(b)お互いに接する複数個のピクセルを2つのタイプに区分し、各フレームで何れか一つのタイプにあたるピクセルの前記逆ガンマ補正された映像信号の小数ビットの下位ビットの間で誤差拡散を遂行し、前記小数ビットの中で上位ビットを少なくともふたつ以上のディザマスクパターンを利用してディザリングするハーフトーン処理段階と、
(c)ハーフトーン処理された映像信号を該当のサブフィールドにマッピングする段階と、を含むことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。 - 前記少なくともふたつ以上のタイプは毎フレーム毎に規則的な順に使われることを特徴とする、請求項12記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記少なくともふたつ以上のタイプは毎フレーム毎にランダムした手順で使われることを特徴とする、請求項12記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記タイプの個数と前記ディザマスクパターンの個数は等しいことを特徴とする、 請求項12記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記ディザマスクパターンに従って誤差拡散タイプが選択されることを特徴とする、請求項12または15記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記タイプに従ってお互いに違う誤差拡散方向を持つことを特徴とする、請求項12記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- ライン単位でお互いに違う誤差拡散方向を持つことを特徴とする、請求項12記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記誤差拡散係数をルックアップテーブルで予め貯蔵する段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項12記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記タイプに従ってお互いに違う誤差拡散係数が割り当てされることを特徴とする、請求項12または19記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
- 前記何れ一つのタイプで所定のピクセルを中心に接するピクセルの位置に従って誤差拡散係数が決まることを特徴とする、 請求項12または19記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の画像処理方法。
