Description
絶縁基板201上に、TFTによって、画素部208、ソース信号線駆動回路205、ゲート信号線駆動回路206、信号処理回路207を構成している。また、液晶を封止する封止材205を絶縁基板201と対向基板202の間に挟んでいる。そして、FPC203によって、外部から液晶表示装置に電気信号を供給している。
また、FPC接続部の横には特性確認用TEG212や、対向張り合わせ用のアライメントマーク210、211、パネルID209などが配置されている。
従来の例としては以下のようなものがある(例えば特許文献1)。
示すように絶縁基板101上にTFTで構成された画素部108、ソース信号線駆動回路105、ゲート信号線駆動回路106、液晶を封止する封止材104、対向基板102によって構成されている。液晶表示装置を駆動する電気信号は配線103より入力され、配線接続部の横にアライメントマーク110、111、パネルID109が配置されている
従来例と異なるのは信号処理回路112、107を封止材の外側に出し、配線接続部が形成されている領域を画素部が形成されていない方向に拡張した領域、すなわち本実施の形態では配線接続部の横に配置していることである。このように、従来はデッドスペースになりがちであった配線接続部が形成されている領域を画素部が形成されていない方向に拡張した領域に信号処理回路を配置することによって、封止材104の内側の面積を縮小することが可能であり、液晶表示装置の大きさを小さくすることが可能になる。
図7は本発明の液晶表示装置の上面および側面図である。本実施形態は図7に示すように絶縁基板701上にTFTで構成された画素部708、ソース信号線駆動回路705、ゲート信号線駆動回路706、液晶を封止する封止材704、対向基板702によって構成されている。表示装置を駆動する電気信号は配線の一例であるFPC703より入力され、FPC接続部の横にアライメントマーク710、711、パネルID709が配置されている。
FPC接続部横の音声信号処理回路として、D/A変換回路712、D/Aバッファ回路713などのデジタル信号回路、プリアンプ707、スピーカー駆動用アンプ714、715などの増幅回路を配置している。
Claims (5)
- 基板上に薄膜素子を用いて複数の画素を構成した画素部を有する液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶表示装置は前記基板上に配線接続部を有し、
前記配線接続部が形成されている領域を前記基板の一辺に沿って伸長した領域に薄膜素子で構成された信号処理回路の少なくとも一部が形成されており、
前記信号処理回路はアナログ信号処理回路部とデジタル信号処理回路部を有し、前記デジタル信号処理回路部は、前記配線接続部を介して、前記アナログ信号処理回路部の反対側にあることを特徴とした液晶表示装置。 - 基板上に薄膜素子を用いて複数の画素を構成した画素部を有する液晶表示装置において、
前記画素部は封止材によって囲まれており、
前記液晶表示装置は前記基板上に配線接続部を有し、
前記配線接続部が形成されている領域を前記基板の一辺に沿って伸長した領域に薄膜素子で構成された信号処理回路の少なくとも一部が形成されており、
前記信号処理回路は前記封止材の外側に存在し、
前記信号処理回路はアナログ信号処理回路部とデジタル信号処理回路部を有し、前記デジタル信号処理回路部は、前記配線接続部を介して、前記アナログ信号処理回路部の反対側にあることを特徴とした液晶表示装置。 - 基板上に薄膜素子を用いて複数の画素を構成した画素部を有する液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶表示装置は前記基板上に配線接続部を有し、
前記配線接続部が形成されている領域を前記基板の一辺に沿って伸長した領域に薄膜素子で構成された音声信号処理回路の少なくとも一部が形成されており、
前記音声信号処理回路は封止材の外側に存在し、
前記音声信号処理回路はアナログ信号処理回路部とデジタル信号処理回路部を有し、前記デジタル信号処理回路部は、前記配線接続部を介して、前記アナログ信号処理回路部の反対側にあり、
前記アナログ信号処理回路部はスピーカー駆動アンプを有し、
前記スピーカー駆動アンプは前記配線接続部に隣接していることを特徴とした液晶表示装置。 - 基板上に薄膜素子を用いて複数の画素を構成した画素部を有する液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶表示装置は前記基板上に配線接続部を有し、
前記配線接続部が形成されている領域を前記基板の一辺に沿って伸長した領域に薄膜素子で構成された音声信号処理回路の少なくとも一部が形成されており、
前記音声信号処理回路は封止材の外側に存在し、
前記音声信号処理回路はアナログ信号処理回路部とデジタル信号処理回路部を有し、前記デジタル信号処理回路部は、前記配線接続部を介して、前記アナログ信号処理回路部の反対側にあり、
前記アナログ信号処理回路部はスピーカー駆動アンプを有し、
前記スピーカー駆動アンプは前記配線接続部に隣接し、
前記スピーカー駆動アンプの出力と前記配線接続部の間の配線抵抗は10Ω以下であることを特徴とした液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置を備えることを特徴とする携帯情報機器。
