Claims (2)
- 液体燃料と酸化剤との電気化学反応により発電する燃料電池システムにおいて、
電気化学反応により発電を行う燃料電池セルと、
高濃度の液体燃料を希釈して前記燃料電池セルのアノードに供給するためのバッファタンクと、
該バッファタンクに高濃度の液体燃料を供給するための燃料供給経路と、
高濃度の液体燃料を収容し、前記燃料供給経路に着脱可能に接続される燃料容器と、
前記燃料供給経路中の気泡を回収する気泡回収手段とを備え、
該気泡回収手段は、前記燃料供給経路に設けられ、前記燃料容器内の液体燃料を前記バッファタンクに供給するためのポンプと、上端部が大気に開放され、下部に出口が形成された燃料サブタンクと、流路切換手段とから構成され、該流路切換手段は、前記ポンプの吐出側を前記バッファタンクまたは前記燃料サブタンクの入口のどちらかに連通する第1の三方弁と、前記ポンプの吸込側を前記燃料容器または前記燃料サブタンクの出口のどちらかに連通する第2の三方弁とを備え、該第1の三方弁により前記ポンプの吐出側を前記燃料サブタンクの入口に連通させると共に、前記第2の三方弁により前記ポンプの吸込側を前記燃料容器の出口に連通させ、前記ポンプを運転することにより、前記燃料供給経路中の気泡と液体燃料を前記燃料サブタンク内に回収した後、前記第1の三方弁により前記ポンプの吐出側を前記バッファタンクの入口に連通させると共に、前記第2の三方弁により前記ポンプの吸込側を前記燃料サブタンクの出口に連通させ、前記ポンプを運転することにより、前記サブタンク内の液体燃料を前記バッファタンクに供給することを特徴とする燃料電池システム。 - 前記ポンプが停止した場合、前記第1の三方弁により前記ポンプの出口を前記燃料サブタンクの入口に連通させることにより、前記バッファタンクと前記燃料供給経路の連通を遮断し、前記バッファタンクから前記燃料供給経路への液体燃料の流出を阻止することを特徴とする請求項1の燃料電池システム。
