Description
Claims (6)
- レーザ光を繰り返しパルス発振するレーザ光源であって、
励起エネルギが供給されることにより放出光を発生するレーザ媒質が共振光路上に配置されたレーザ共振器と、
前記レーザ媒質に励起エネルギを連続的に供給する励起手段と、
前記励起手段による励起エネルギ供給に応じたものであり、共振器内の光路の途中から取り出された光のパワーをモニタするモニタ部と、
前記レーザ共振器の共振器損失を変調し、共振器損失に応じ前記モニタ部に出力する光路を切替えるQスイッチ手段と、
前記レーザ共振器から出力されたレーザ光を増幅または減衰する出力光パワー調整器と、
前記レーザ共振器の共振器損失が高出力パルス非発振のための第1の所定の損失に設定された状態で前記モニタ部によりモニタされた放出光パワーに基づいて、前記レーザ共振器の共振器損失が高出力パルス発振のための第2の所定の損失に設定された状態で出力されるレーザ光パルスのピークパワーを安定化するように制御する制御部と
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記共振器損失が極小となる直前にモニタされた光パワー値と前記共振器損失を極小にして出力されたパルスピークパワー値との関係データに関する情報に基づき、前記出力光パワー調整器の利得または損失を制御することで、前記レーザ光パルスのピークパワーの安定化を行う
ことを特徴とするレーザ光源。 - 前記制御部は、前記モニタ部によりモニタされた放出光パワーに基づいて、前記共振器に供給される励起エネルギ、前記共振器の反射率、前記Qスィッチ手段の損失(Qスィッチ手段の分岐比)のいずれかをフィードバック制御することで、出力されるレーザ光のピークパワーまたはエネルギを安定化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレーザ光源。
- 前記レーザ共振器は、前記Qスイッチ手段を有し、前記Qスイッチ手段は、一対のポートが前記レーザ共振器の一部を構成し、残りのポートの一つが前記レーザ共振器内の光パワーの一部をモニタするために使用されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレーザ光源。
- 前記光スイッチが音響光学効果を利用したものであることを特徴とする請求項3記載のレーザ光源。
- 前記光スイッチが電気光学効果を利用したものであることを特徴とする請求項3記載のレーザ光源。
- 前記光スイッチがピエゾ光学効果を利用したものであることを特徴とする請求項3記載のレーザ光源。
