Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 【産業上の利用分野】
本発明は、ゲーベルトップ型液体容器等の頂部をヒー
トシールする方法に関する。
【従来の技術】
牛乳、ジュース、お酒等を収納するゲーベルトップ型
等の液体容器は、廉価で且つ断熱効果を有する紙を基材
とし、表裏に積層したポリエチレン等のヒートシール性
に優れた樹脂フィルムをヒートシールすることにより製
造されている。 しかし、容器の強度アップと保形性を高める目的で基
材には厚手の紙が使用されているため、シール面の背部
に加熱板を押圧しても基材の紙が断熱性を有するためシ
ール面の樹脂フィルムをヒートシール可能な温度に加熱
することは容易でない。したがって、シール面に400〜6
00℃程度の熱風を吹き付け、前記樹脂フィルムをヒート
シール可能な温度になるまで加熱し、背部より適宜の押
圧手段を用いて押圧することによりシールする方法が取
られている。
【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記した従来のヒートシール方法にお
いてはシール面の樹脂フィルムをヒートシール可能な温
度に加熱すると、その背部も相当に温度が上昇するた
め、該背部を押圧する押圧手段もシールの繰り返しと共
に過熱状態になる。このため、背部側の樹脂フィルムが
押圧手段に融着して剥がれたり、該樹脂フィルムに印刷
した製造月日等のインキが取れると云う問題点があっ
た。
【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記した従来技術の課題を解決するためにな
されたもので、少なくとも最内層および最外層が熱可塑
性樹脂からなる紙製の液体容器の頂部をヒートシールす
る際、加熱したシール面の背部、もしくはシール面を加
熱する手段とは別体に準備された押圧手段の押圧面に冷
却水を供給しながら、シール面の背部を押圧してシール
することを特徴とするヒートシール方法である。
【作用】
本発明はシール面の背部、もしくはシール面を加熱す
る手段とは別体に準備された押圧手段の押圧面に冷却水
を供給しながらシール面の背部を押圧するので、前記押
圧面が加熱することがない。このため前記背部の樹脂フ
ィルムに剥がれる等の欠陥を生じることがない。
【実施例】
つぎに本発明の一実施例を図面に基づいて詳細に説明
する。 本発明によってヒートシールする被シール部材として
は、廉価で断熱性に優れた紙11を基材(坪量350g/m2
とし、ヒートシール性に優れた厚さ20μmのポリエチレ
ンフィルム12とポリエチレンフィルム13とが表裏に積層
された複合シート1等であり、ガスバリヤー性と遮光性
を高めるために適宜の厚さのアルミニューム箔を挟装し
たりすることも可能である。そして、前記シート1を折
り曲げる等して液体容器2を形成する際の頂部21が本発
明によってシールされる。 符号3はプレスゴム31と受け部32とから構成された押
圧手段であり、中間点に向かって双方が移動し、液体容
器2の前記頂部21を両側から押圧可能に設けられてい
る。符号4は冷却水41を保水するスポンジ42と、該スポ
ンジ42に冷却水41を供給する給水管43、およびスポンジ
押え44とから構成される給水手段であり、配置の詳細は
スポンジ42が、冷却水41を押圧手段3の前記プレスゴム
31の押圧面311に滴下可能にプレスゴム31の押圧面311の
真上に配置され、スポンジ押え44が押圧手段3の受け部
32側から先端部441をスポンジ42に向け、プレスゴム31
の押圧面311が頂部21のシール面の背部13Bに接する直前
に、先端部441がスポンジ42に突き当たり、該スポンジ4
2に保水されていた冷却水41をプレスゴム31の押圧面311
に滴下可能に配設して用いられる。したがって、プレス
ゴム31の押圧面311は冷却水41によってヒートシールの
度に冷却されるため、シールを繰り返しても蓄熱されて
過熱状態になることがないので、常時良好な状態で次の
ヒートシールに対応することが出来る。 液体容器2の前記頂部21は複合シート1の内側に積層
されたポリエチレンフィルム12の対峙するシール面12A
と12B、および外側に積層されたポリエチレンフィルム1
3の対峙するシール面13Aそれぞれをヒートシールするこ
とによって形成されるので、適宜の加熱手段を用いて頂
部21を形成する複合シート1の上端部側のポリエチレン
12と13とを大略550℃の熱風によりヒートシール可能な1
20〜130℃になるまで加熱した後、従来周知の頂部形成
手段を用いて対向する天板22同士を折り込みながら、他
の対向する天板23同士を接近させて頂部21の前記シール
面12A、12B、および13Aを接触させ、該シール面の背部1
3Bと13Cとを押圧手段3のプレスゴム31と受け部32によ
って適宜の圧力によって押圧すると、前記シール面12
A、12B、および13Aそれぞれがシールされた。なお、製
造月日等が印刷された背部13Bをプレスゴム31側に配置
してヒートシールしたので、該プレスゴム31が前記背部
13Bに接触する直前にスポンジ押え44の先端部441がスポ
ンジ42に突き当たり、該スポンジ42が保水していた冷却
水41がプレスゴム31の押圧面311に滴下し、該押圧面311
とシール面の背部13Bのポリエチレンフィルム13が急冷
された。このため、前記印刷が消えることもなかった
し、ポリエチレンフィルム13がプレスゴム31の押圧面31
1に融着することもなかった。 なお、給水管43によるスポンジ42への冷却水41の補給
は、ヒートシール1回毎に補給しても良いし、スポンジ
42の保水量を大きく形成しておけば1回の補給で数回の
ヒートシールに対応させることも可能である。 また、第5図に示した様に水量調整バルブ45等を介し
て冷却水41が供給可能に配管されたスポンジ製の冷却ロ
ーラー46を、加熱されたシール面の背部13Bに回転接触
させることにより該背部13Bを急冷し、その後適宜の押
圧手段によって該背部13Bを押圧することによりシール
面それぞれをシールすることも出来る。この様に、シー
ル面の背部13Bの冷却を、押圧工程に先立って独立して
設けることも出来る。ただ、シール面の背部13Bに直接
水を供給して冷却すると、基材に厚手の紙を用いた場合
は良いが、薄手の紙を用いた場合は、内側のシール面ま
で冷却されてしまい接着性が悪くなることがあるので、
薄手の紙を用いた場合には、押圧手段に水を供給する方
が好ましい。さらに、上記実施例においてはシール面の
一方の背部のみを急冷したのち押圧シールしたが、両方
の背部を急冷させて押圧するものであっても勿論構わな
い。
【発明の効果】
以上説明した様に、本発明は少なくとも最内層および
最外層が熱可塑性樹脂からなる紙製の液体容器の頂部を
ヒートシールする際、加熱したシール面の背部、もしく
はシール面を加熱する手段とは別体に準備された押圧手
段の押圧面に冷却水を供給しながら、シール面の背部を
押圧してシールすることを特徴とするヒートシール方法
であるから、被シール部材のシール面をヒートシール可
能に加熱するとき、シール面の背部が加熱されていても
該背部を押圧手段が押圧する際には冷却されている。こ
のため背部の樹脂フィルムが剥がれたりすることがない
し、製造月日等の印刷が施されていても、該印刷のイン
キが剥がれて見え難くなることもない。したがって、ヒ
ートシール性に優れた樹脂フィルムと、断熱性の高い紙
等からなる複合シートを用いてゲーベルトップ型液体容
器を初めとする液体容器等を製造する際に、適用が簡便
であり、しかも欠陥が発生し難いヒートシール方法であ
るので実用的な効果が大きい。

  1. 【請求項1】少なくとも最内層および最外層が熱可塑性
    樹脂からなる紙製の液体容器の頂部をヒートシールする
    際、加熱したシール面の背部、もしくはシール面を加熱
    する手段とは別体に準備された押圧手段の押圧面に冷却
    水を供給しながら、シール面の背部を押圧してシールす
    ることを特徴とするヒートシール方法。
