Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 【産業上の利用分野】
本発明は、ゲーベルトップ型液体容器等の頂部をヒート
シールする方法に関する。
【従来の技術】
牛乳、ジュース、お酒等を収納するゲーベルトップ型等
の液体容器は、廉価で且つ断熱効果を有する紙を基材と
し、表裏に積層したポリエチレン等のヒートシール性に
優れた樹脂フィルムをヒートシールすることにより製造
されている。 しかし、容器の強度アップと保形性を高める目的で基材
には厚手の紙が使用されているため、シール面の背部に
加熱板を押圧しても基材の紙が断熱性を有するためシー
ル面の樹脂フィルムをヒートシール可能な温度に加熱す
ることは容易でない。したがって、シール面に400〜
600℃程度の熱風を吹き付け、前記樹脂フィルムをヒ
ートシール可能な温度になるまで加熱し、背部より適宜
の押圧手段を用いて押圧することによりシールする方法
が取られている。
【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記した従来のヒートシール方法におい
てはシール面の樹脂フィルムをヒートシール可能な温度
に加熱すると、その背部も相当に温度が上昇するため、
該背部を押圧する押圧手段もシールの繰り返しと共に過
熱状態になる。このため、背部側の樹脂フィルムが押圧
手段に融着して剥がれたり、該樹脂フィルムに印刷した
製造月日等のインキが取れると云う問題点があった。
【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記した従来技術の課題を解決するためになさ
れたもので、少なくとも最内層および最外層が熱可塑性
樹脂からなる紙製の液体容器の頂部をヒートシールする
際、加熱したシール面の背部もしくは押圧手段の押圧面
に冷却水を供給しながら、シール面の背部を押圧してシ
ールすることを特徴とするヒートシール方法である。
【作用】
本発明はシール面の背部もしくは押圧手段の押圧面に冷
却水を供給しながらシール面の背部を押圧するので、前
記押圧面が過熱することがない。 このため前記背部の樹脂フィルムに剥がれる等の欠陥を
生じることがない。
【実施例】
つぎに本発明の一実施例を図面に基づいて詳細に説明す
る。 本発明によってヒートシールする被シール部材としては
、廉価で断熱性に優れた紙11を基材(坪量350 g
/TI?)とし、ヒートシール性に優れた厚さ20u+
のポリエチレンフィルム12とポリエチレンフィルム1
3とが表裏に積層された複合シート1等であり、ガスバ
リヤ−性と遮光性を高めるために適宜の厚さのアルミニ
ュウム箔を挟装したりすることも可能である。そして、
前記シート1を折り曲げる等して液体容器2を形成する
際の頂部21が本発明によってシールされる。 符号3はプレスゴム31と受は部32とから構成された
押圧手段であり、中間点に向かって双方が移動し、液体
容器2の前記頂部21を両側から押圧可能に設けられて
いる。符号4は冷却水41を保水するスポンジ42と、
該スポンジ42に冷却水41を供給する給水管43、お
よびスポンジ押え44とから構成される給水手段であり
、配置の詳細はスポンジ42が、冷却水41を押圧手段
3の前記プレスゴム31の押圧面311に滴下可能にプ
レスゴム31の押圧面311の直上に配置され、スポン
ジ押え44が押圧手段3の受は部32側から先端部44

42に保水されていた冷却水41をプレスゴム31の押
圧面311に滴下可能に配設して用いられる。したがっ
て、プレスゴム31の押圧面311は冷却水41によっ
てヒートシールの度に冷却されるため、シールを繰り返
しても蓄熱されて過熱状態になることがないので、常時
良好な状態で次のヒートシールに対応することが出来る
。 液体容器2の前記頂部2工は複合シート1の内側に積層
されたポリエチレンフィルム12の対峙するシール面1
2Aと12B1および外側に積層されたポリエチレンフ
ィルム13の対峙するシール面13Aそれぞれをヒート
シールすることによって形成されるので、適宜の加熱手
段を用いて頂部21を形成する複合シート1の上端部側
のポリエチレン12と13とを大略550℃の熱風によ
りヒートシール可能な120〜130°Cになるまで加
熱した後、従来周知の頂部形成手段を用いて対向する天
板22同士を折り込みながら、他の対向する天板23同
士を接近させて頂部21の前記シール面12A、12B
、および13Aを接触させ、該ソール面の背部13Bと
13Cとを押圧手段3のプレスゴム31と受は部32に
よって適宜の圧力によって押圧すると、前記シール面1
2A112B、および13Aそれぞれがシールされた。 なお、製造月日等が印刷された背部13Bをプレスゴム
31側に配置してヒートシールしたので、該プレスゴム
31が前記背部13Bに接触する直前にスポンジ押え4
4の先端部441がスポンジ42に突き当たり、該スポ
ンジ42が保水していた冷却水41がプレスゴム31の
押圧面311に滴下し、該押圧面311とシール面の背
部13Bのポリエチレンフィルム13が急冷された。 このため、前記印刷が消えることもなかったし、ポリエ
チレンフィルム13がプレスゴム31の押圧面311に
融着することもなかった。 なお、給水管43によるスポンジ42への?lI水41
の補給は、ヒートシール1回毎に補給しても良いし、ス
ポンジ42の保水量を大きく形成しておけば1回の補給
で数回のヒートシールに対応させることも可能である。 また、第5図に示した様に水m調整バルブ45等を介し
て冷却水41が供給可能に配管されたスポンジ製の冷却
ローラー46を、加熱されたシール面の背部13Bに回
転接触させることにより該背部13Bを急冷し、その後
適宜の押圧手段によって該背部13Bを押圧することに
よりシール面それぞれをシールすることも出来る。この
様に、シール面の背部13Bの冷却を、押圧工程に先立
って独立して設けることも出来る。ただ、シール面の這
い部13Bに直接水を供給して冷却すると、基材に厚手
の紙を用いた場合は良いが、薄手の紙を用いた場合は、
内側のシール面まで冷却されてしまい接着性が悪くなる
ことがあるので、薄手の紙を用いた場合には、押圧手段
に水を供給する方が好ましい。さらに、上記実施例にお
いてはシール面の一方の背部のみを急冷したのち押圧シ
ールしたが、両方の背部を急冷させて押圧するものであ
っても勿論構わない。
【発明の効果】
以上説明した様に、本発明は少なくとも最内層および最
外層が熱可塑性樹脂からなる紙製の液体容器の頂部をヒ
ートシールする際、加熱したシール面の背部もしくは押
圧手段の押圧面に冷却水を供給しながら、シール面の背
部を押圧してシールすることを特徴とするヒートシール
方法であるから、被シール部材のシール面をヒートシー
ル可能に加熱するとき、シール面の背部が加熱されてい
ても該背部を押圧手段が押圧する際には冷却されている
。このため背部の樹脂フィルムが剥がれたりすることが
ないし、製造月日等の印刷が施されていても、該印刷の
インキが剥がれて見え難くなることもない。したがって
、ヒートシール性に優れた樹脂フィルムと、断熱性の高
い紙等からなる複合シートを用いてゲーベルトップ型液
体容器を初めとする液体容器等を製造する際に、適用が
簡便であり、しかも欠陥が発生し難いヒートシール方法
であるので実用的な効果が大きい。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 少なくとも最内層および最外層が熱可塑性樹脂からなる
    紙製の液体容器の頂部をヒートシールする際、加熱した
    シール面の背部もしくは押圧手段の押圧面に冷却水を供
    給しながら、シール面の背部を押圧してシールすること
    を特徴とするヒートシール方法。
