Description

【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、電気融着継手と金属管
との接続構造に関するものである。

【従来の技術】従来より、電気融着によって、樹脂管と
金属管とを接続する場合、例えば、特開昭62−498
8号公報に示すような管継手によって行われていた。
【0003】すなわち、この管継手は、樹脂製継手本体
の一端側に、樹脂管の端部が挿入可能となされるととも
に、通電によって発熱するコイルが埋設されている。ま
た、他端側に、金属管の端部に形成された螺子部に螺合
可能なナットがインサート加工されている。
【0004】この管継手によると、樹脂管と管継手との
接続は電気融着によって行われ、金属管と管継手との接
続は、螺合によって行われることとなる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、上記従来の管
継手の場合、金属管の螺子切り、螺子込み等の施工ばら
つきによって漏水を生じるといった不都合があった。
【0006】本発明は、係る実情に鑑みてなされたもの
で、施工のばらつきを生じることなく、電気融着継手と
金属管とを確実に接続することのできる接続構造を提供
することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記課題を解決するため
の本発明の電気融着継手と金属管との接続構造は、管体
が挿入可能となされるとともに、通電によって発熱する
コイルが埋設された接続部が形成されてなる電気融着継
手と、金属管との接続構造であって、金属管の端部外周
面には、凹凸が設けられるとともに、接着性樹脂が溶着
された挿入部が形成されてなり、電気融着継手の接続部
に金属管の挿入部が挿入された状態でコイルに通電する
ことによって、電気融着継手の接続部内周面の樹脂と、
金属管の挿入部外周面の接着性樹脂とが溶融一体化され
たものである。

【作用】本発明の電気融着継手と金属管との接続構造に
よると、電気融着継手の接続部に金属管の挿入部を挿入
した状態でコイルに通電することによって、電気融着継
手の接続部内周面の樹脂と、金属管の挿入部外周面の接
着性樹脂とが溶融一体化し、この溶融一体化した樹脂が
挿入部の凹凸部分に噛み込んで、電気融着継手と金属管
とが強固に接続されることとなる。

【0011】すなわち、この接続構造は、電気融着継手
1の接続部11に金属製蛇口部材2の挿入部21が挿入
された状態でコイル12に通電することによって、電気
融着継手1の接続部11内周面の樹脂と、金属製蛇口部
材2の挿入部21外周面の接着性樹脂22とが溶融一体
化されたものである。
【0012】電気融着継手1は、円筒状に形成された継
手本体10の両端部に、樹脂管3の端部30を嵌合でき
るようになされた接続部11が形成されている。この接
続部11の内周壁面には、通電によって発熱するコイル
12が埋設されている。また、継手本体10の内周壁面
には、両端部から挿入される樹脂管3の貫通を抑止する
ストッパ13が突設されている。
【0013】そして、この電気融着継手1は、接続部1
1に埋設されたコイル12の発熱によって、該コイル1
2周縁の樹脂が溶融するようになされている。すなわ
ち、接続部11に樹脂管3の端部30を挿入してコイル
12に通電することによって、接続部11の内周壁面と
樹脂管3の外周壁面とが溶融して融着することとなる。
そのため、コイル12は、接続部11の全体を周回して
埋設され、融着による接合面積を充分に確保することが
できるようになされている。このコイル12は、その端
部が、接続部11の外周に突設された通電ターミナル1
4に配線されており、該通電ターミナル14から通電で
きるようになされている。
【0014】金属製蛇口部材2は、図2に示すように、
その基端部に挿入部21が形成されている。この挿入部
21は、円筒状に形成されてなり、その外周面全体に渡
って周方向に溝が設けられ複数の凹凸が形成されてい
る。また、この挿入部21の凹凸部分には接着性樹脂2
2(例えば、三井石油化学社製 変性ポリエチレン 商
品名 アドマーNR106)が溶着されている。この溶
着は、あらかじめ、金属製蛇口部材2を180℃以上に
加熱し、接着性樹脂22を塗布して溶融固着させること
によって溶着される。この接着性樹脂22の溶着厚みと
しては、最大で1mm程度となるように溶着される。そし
て、この接着性樹脂22が溶着された状態で、挿入部2
1の外径は、電気融着継手1の接続部11の内径とほぼ
同一径となされ、該挿入部21を接続部11に挿入可能
となされている。
【0015】このようになる金属製蛇口部材2を、電気
融着継手1によって、樹脂管3に接続する場合は、ま
ず、電気融着継手1の一方の接続部11に樹脂管3の端
部30を挿入するとともに、他方の接続部11に金属製
蛇口部材2の挿入部21を挿入し、各部材の位置決めを
する。
【0016】そして、通電ターミナル14を通じてコイ
ル12に通電する。
【0017】すると、樹脂管3側では、接続部11の内
周面の樹脂と樹脂管3の端部30の外周面の樹脂とが溶
融一体化して電気融着継手1と樹脂管3とが接続される
こととなる。
【0018】また、金属製蛇口部材2側では、接続部1
1の内周面の樹脂と金属製蛇口部材2の挿入部21の外
周面の接着性樹脂22とが溶融一体化し、この溶融一体
化した樹脂が挿入部21の凹凸部分に噛み込んで、電気
融着継手1と金属製蛇口部材2とが強固に接続されるこ
ととなる。
【0019】なお、本実施例では、金属製蛇口部材2と
電気融着継手1との接続構造を示しているが、これに限
定されるものではなく、上記金属製蛇口部材2に示す挿
入部21を備えたものであれば、銅管、鋼管、インサー
ト継手等の各種金属継手および金属管と電気融着継手1
とを接続することができる。
【0020】また、図3に示すように、従来からある螺
合構造となされた金属管4を電気融着継手1と接続する
場合、一方にこの金属管4の螺子部41と螺合可能な螺
子部23を備え、他方に挿入部21を備えた金属製接続
部材24を使用することができる。
【0021】さらに、本実施例では、電気融着継手1と
金属製蛇口部材2とを接続しているが、樹脂管3の端部
30が電気融着継手1の接続部11と同様に構成されて
いる場合は、樹脂管3の端部30と金属製蛇口部材2と
を直接的に接続することができる。

【発明の効果】以上述べたように、本発明によると、電
気融着継手の接続部内周面の樹脂と、金属管の端部外周
面の接着性樹脂とが溶融一体化し、この溶融一体化した
樹脂が挿入部の凹凸部分に噛み込んで、電気融着継手と
金属管とが強固に接続されることとなるので、施工のば
らつきを生じることなく樹脂管と金属管とを簡単に接続
することができる。

  1. 【請求項1】 管体が挿入可能となされるとともに、通
    電によって発熱するコイルが埋設された接続部が形成さ
    れてなる電気融着継手と、金属管との接続構造であっ
    て、金属管の端部外周面には、凹凸が設けられるととも
    に、接着性樹脂が溶着された挿入部が形成されてなり、
    電気融着継手の接続部に金属管の挿入部が挿入された状
    態でコイルに通電することによって、電気融着継手の接
    続部内周面の樹脂と、金属管の挿入部外周面の接着性樹
    脂とが溶融一体化されたことを特徴とする電気融着継手
    と金属管との接続構造。
