Abstract
Description

本発明は、カラー画像をレンダリングするための方法および装置に関する。より具体的には、本発明は、色強度の組み合わせが、多色表面被覆率に変換される、多色ディザリングのための方法に関する。
故に、一側面では、本明細書に提示される主題は、電気光学ディスプレイを駆動するための方法を提供し、本方法は、入力画像を受信することと、入力画像を処理し、色分離累積を作成することと、色分離累積をディザ関数と交差させることによって、入力画像をディザリングすることとを含むことができる。
誤差拡散アルゴリズム(そのピクセルにおいて理論的に要求される色と異なる特定の色で1つのピクセルを印刷することによって導入される「誤差」が、全体的に正しい色感覚が生産されるように、隣接ピクセルの間に分配される)等の標準ディザリングアルゴリズムが、限定パレットディスプレイとともに採用されることができる。誤差拡散についての膨大な文献が存在する。精査のために、Pappas, Thrasyvoulos N. 「Model-based halftoning of color images」 IEEE Transactions on Image Processing 6.7 (1997): 1014-1024を参照されたい。

Claims (13)
- 複数のディスプレイピクセルを有する電気光学ディスプレイを駆動するための方法であって、前記方法は、
入力画像を受信することと、
前記入力画像を処理し、色分離累積を作成することと、
前記色分離累積をディザ関数と交差させることによって、前記入力画像をディザリングすることと
を含む、方法。 - 前記ディザ関数は、閾値アレイである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記閾値アレイは、ブルーノイズマスク(BNM)である、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記入力画像を処理するステップは、ルックアップテーブルによって実装される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ルックアップテーブルは、前記入力画像の色値と前記色分離累積との間のマッピングを含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記入力画像を処理することの前に、前記入力画像を鮮明化フィルタに通すことをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記鮮明化フィルタは、有限インパルス応答(FIR)フィルタである、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記入力画像を処理し、色分離累積を作成するステップは、重心座標方法を使用することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 前記帯電粒子および前記流体は、複数のカプセルまたはマイクロセル内に閉じ込められている、請求項11に記載の電気光学ディスプレイ。
- 前記帯電粒子および前記流体は、高分子材料を備える、連続相によって囲繞される複数の離散液滴として存在する、請求項11に記載の電気光学ディスプレイ。
