Abstract
Description
(1.冷却装置の構成)
本発明の例示的な一実施形態の冷却装置について説明する。図1、図2は本発明の実施形態に係る冷却装置1の斜視図及び上面図である。また、図3は図2中のA-A線断面斜視図であり、図4は図2中のB-B線断面図である。
発熱部品Hと第1冷媒流路11とが上下方向に対向して配置されることで、発熱部品Hから発せられる熱を効率よく第1冷媒流路11を流通する冷媒へ伝達することができる。
また、パイプ23の長径L1の傾斜角度が15度より大きい場合、パイプ23が冷却風の流通を妨げ、ラジエータ20の冷却性能が低下する。さらに、パイプ23の長径L1は、コールドプレート10の上面に対して10度傾斜している場合、ラジエータ20の冷却性能が最も向上する。
コールドプレート10の底壁部12の下面にCPU等の冷却されるべき発熱部品を接触させてポンプ30を駆動する。これにより、第1冷媒流路11、第1タンク41、第2冷媒流路22及び第2タンク42の順で冷媒が循環する。発熱部品の発熱はコールドプレート10の底壁部12に伝達される。底壁部12に伝達された熱は上壁部13を介してフィン21に伝達されるとともに、第1冷媒流路11及び第2冷媒流路22を流通する冷媒を介してフィン21に伝達される。これにより、フィン21を介して放熱が行われ、発熱部品の温度上昇を抑制することができる。
次に、本発明の第2実施形態について説明する。図8は第2実施形態の冷却装置1の上面図である。説明の便宜上、前述の図1~図7に示す第1実施形態と同様の部分には同一の符号を付す。第2実施形態ではポンプ30がコールドプレート10上に配置される。
次に、本発明の第3実施形態について説明する。図9、図10は第3実施形態に係る冷却装置1の上面斜視図及び底面斜視図である。図11は冷却装置1の吐出口31bを拡大して示す縦断面図である。説明の便宜上、前述の図1~図7に示す第1実施形態と同様の部分には同一の符号を付す。第3実施形態では吐出口31bの形状が異なる。
比較例1に係るパイプ23は長径L1がコールドプレート10の上面に対して傾斜していない(表1において傾斜角度を0度とする)。
比較例2に係るパイプ23は長径L1がコールドプレート10の上面に対して実施例1とは反対側に10度傾斜する(表1において傾斜角度を-10度とする)。
実施例1及び比較例1、2に係る第1実施形態に係る冷却装置1を用意し、熱抵抗率R(K/W)を測定した結果を表1に示す。冷却風をパイプ23の延びる方向と直交する方向(短手方向Y)に送風した。
表1に示すように、パイプ23の長径L1をコールドプレート10の上面に対して10度傾斜したとき、熱抵抗率Rが最も低く、冷却装置1の冷却性能が高くなることが確認された。
上記実施形態は、本発明の例示にすぎない。実施形態の構成は、本発明の技術的思想を超えない範囲で適宜変更されてもよい。また、実施形態は、可能な範囲で組み合わせて実施されてよい。
Claims (8)
- 発熱部品と下面が接触するとともに内部に冷媒が流通する第1冷媒流路を有するコールドプレートと、
冷却用のフィンと、前記第1冷媒流路と連通する第2冷媒流路を形成する複数のパイプと、を有するラジエータと、
前記冷媒を循環させるポンプと、
複数の前記パイプの一端と連結する第1タンクと、
複数の前記パイプの他端と前記ポンプとを連結する第2タンクと、を備え、
前記ポンプは、前記第2タンクと隣接して配置され、
前記ポンプは、
前記第2冷媒流路の冷媒流通方向に延びる中心軸を中心に回転する羽根車と、
前記羽根車を収納する筐体と、
前記筺体の側面から外方に突出して前記第1冷媒流路と連通する吐出口と、を有し、
前記吐出口は、前記筺体から外方に向かって延びる外向部を有し、
前記筐体は前記第2タンクと隣接する側面に吸込口が形成され、
ポンプは前記吸込口を介して前記パイプの延びる方向に冷媒を吸い込む。 - 前記吐出口は前記第1冷媒流路に冷媒を流入させる、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 前記第1タンクと前記第2タンクと前記ラジエータと前記ポンプは、一体化する、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 第1タンクには貫通孔が形成され、コールドプレートの流出口に連通して、前記流出口から前記貫通孔へ流れる、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 前記吐出口を有する吐出部が、前記筐体と別部材である、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 前記パイプは、直線状に延び、
前記第1タンク及び前記第2タンクが、前記パイプの延びる方向に対向して配置される、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。 - 前記第1タンク及び前記第2タンクは、複数の前記フィンの配列方向に対して平行に配置される、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
